Shroppie Posted 30 November, 2011 Posted 30 November, 2011 Although I'm still ridiculously happy at our current position, was just looking at the diary for the end of the season and noticed what a (potentially) tough run in we have over the last 6 games. P*mpey at home (if they still exist) - local derby always problematic Palarse away - tough. Reading home - gave us a tough game at their place, they're better away from home and also localish Posh away - we should have the beating of them, but we know they'll score Middlesboro away - they'll probably be fighting us for auto or play-offs Only relief is last match - Coventry at home. Just thinking we may need a few points cushion before Easter.
Saint_lambden Posted 30 November, 2011 Posted 30 November, 2011 Pompey & Reading at home within a week - I cannot wait for that!
Deano6 Posted 30 November, 2011 Posted 30 November, 2011 That's not so bad. All mid-table and relegated teams, other than Boro.
hypochondriac Posted 30 November, 2011 Posted 30 November, 2011 I don't think that's a bad ran really. January to february is harder.
paulwantsapint Posted 30 November, 2011 Posted 30 November, 2011 Any chance palace will allow dellhurst because if they are mid table & we are still going for promotion we could take loads of fans up there
S-Clarke Posted 30 November, 2011 Posted 30 November, 2011 As others have said, it's not too bad. January and Funerary look much much more daunting.
Super_Saint Posted 30 November, 2011 Posted 30 November, 2011 Not that worrying compared to Jan-Feb Leicester H Cardiff H Brum A Burnley H West Ham A Derby H Hope fully we can strengthen in the transfer window for that run.
Shroppie Posted 30 November, 2011 Author Posted 30 November, 2011 Accept that Jan Feb looks tough too. As Nigel says, no easy games. Perhaps this thread is a little premature. Be interesting to look at it again next year.
Dalek2003 Posted 30 November, 2011 Posted 30 November, 2011 Probably be safe by the time we get to Easter, so no worries.
mcjwills Posted 30 November, 2011 Posted 30 November, 2011 My ideal dream is getting promotion on the home game against the skates whilst dooming them to relegation. Just think how sick they would be seeing us celebrate the return to the premier league.
ivangolac Posted 30 November, 2011 Posted 30 November, 2011 Not that worrying compared to Jan-Feb Leicester H Cardiff H Brum A Burnley H West Ham A Derby H Hope fully we can strengthen in the transfer window for that run. 4 home games , 12 points Easy
Aardvark Posted 30 November, 2011 Posted 30 November, 2011 Any chance palace will allow dellhurst because if they are mid table & we are still going for promotion we could take loads of fans up there I've read this several times now and have no idea what it means. I think it's in english - could anyone enlighten me?
hypochondriac Posted 30 November, 2011 Posted 30 November, 2011 I've read this several times now and have no idea what it means. I think it's in english - could anyone enlighten me? Dellhurst? Are you a saints fan?
terrasaint Posted 30 November, 2011 Posted 30 November, 2011 That's not so bad. All mid-table and relegated teams, other than Boro. Boro may well be mid table by then.
Shrek Posted 30 November, 2011 Posted 30 November, 2011 There's no easy games in this league. We'll just take it one game at a time and keep chipping away
SNSUN Posted 1 December, 2011 Posted 1 December, 2011 I worry a bit about the latter part of the season, but then I think of the January transfer window and it makes me feel all right. I'd be VERY surprised if we didn't strengthen, especially given our lofty position and prospective draw for players.
West End Saint Posted 1 December, 2011 Posted 1 December, 2011 I thought we all knew there are no easy games in this league we all thought we would get something away at Brizzle but didnt we are miles ahead of were I thought we would be so far this season so bring em on 1 game at a time.
Wes Tender Posted 1 December, 2011 Posted 1 December, 2011 With luck, all of those teams will later on be looking at their fixture against us with a mixture of fear and trepidation.
svetigpung Posted 1 December, 2011 Posted 1 December, 2011 at the start of the season i was thinking what a hellish couple of months we were gonna have in Sept and October (Forrest,Birmingham,Burnley,Cardiff,Watford,Derby,WHU,Reading,Middleb). We did all right there. Its a tough league. Thats why its interesting , and sooo much more enjoyable than the PL.
Danbert Posted 1 December, 2011 Posted 1 December, 2011 Not that worrying compared to Jan-Feb Leicester H Cardiff H Brum A Burnley H West Ham A Derby H Hope fully we can strengthen in the transfer window for that run. Only two away games there. I think that'll give us a chance to put one over on some of the chasing pack.
