Saint_clark Posted 30 November, 2011 Share Posted 30 November, 2011 Jaidi will almost certainly never play for the club again. Connolly probably 2 weeks to a month. Chaplow in about a week or 2.

Saint_clark Posted 30 November, 2011 Share Posted 30 November, 2011 I have to ask, what is that based on? Even if he does get fit, he won't displace Hooiveld or Fonte.
Colinjb Posted 30 November, 2011 Share Posted 30 November, 2011 Even if he does get fit, he won't displace Hooiveld or Fonte. Makes sense, although if we drew a minnow in the FA Cup and he is needing match practice I could see him partnering Martin.
Fitzhugh Fella Posted 30 November, 2011 Share Posted 30 November, 2011 And Seaborne I wonder?
S-Clarke Posted 30 November, 2011 Share Posted 30 November, 2011 And Seaborne I wonder? Adkins spoke of Seaborne the other day, he's back with the group but still a long long way from playing. I'd assume he now has to have another pre-season as such, and depending on how he recovered...alter how he heads the ball...who knows. I don't think we'll see Jaidi again this year after Solents comments last night, he has quite an issue with his knee apparentley - he's had the op on it, but according to them he still is having issues. When a player of his 'bulk' and age starts getting injuries like that it's usually time to hang up the boots. I'd love him to stay around the club as some sort of coach though because they love him there. The young kids could learn so much from him, as he's played at most levels of professional football. rooney Posted 30 November, 2011 Share Posted 30 November, 2011 Agree with S-Clarke, he would be a great person to have around the place in some coaching capacity for the youngsters.
CanadaSaint Posted 30 November, 2011 Share Posted 30 November, 2011 And Seaborne I wonder? I don't want to be a "doom and gloom" merchant but we might have to entertain the possibility that Seaborne will never be the same player again, if he plays at all. The whole area of head injuries has been under a lot of scrutiny over here (football and hockey), following some serious concussions that sidelined players for months, and - especially - following some post mortems that found significant brain damage in former pro athletes. These issues are bad enough for anyone, but someone whose role includes frequent heading is especially vulnerable.
david in sweden Posted 30 November, 2011 Share Posted 30 November, 2011 Even if he does get fit, he won't displace Hooiveld or Fonte. .....I wouldn't consider that he would displace either of the other two, but it would be good to have him fit /available in the Spring in the event of ...injuries /suspensions. He is on a one year contract now..surely his last ..or next to last.

david in sweden Posted 30 November, 2011 Share Posted 30 November, 2011 He has already stated he is retiring at the end of the season. THX. didn't see that, but it would be nice for him to get a Championship Winners medal - wouldn't it ? After all, he did come when we were down in L1 with -10 points and he was still loyal. If he gets fit by April, have him on the bench for the run in.
krissyboy31 Posted 30 November, 2011 Share Posted 30 November, 2011 Even if he does get fit, he won't displace Hooiveld or Fonte. He may not have to displace Hooiveld if he (Hooiveld) is no longer here in January.
