Barnard not being good enough for this league. I AGREE

if we don't beat Hull we don't deserve promotion I AGREE

Lambert is just average at this level, I AGREE EVEN THOUGH HE IS SO IMPORTANT TO US

Lallana has been found out, I AGREE. FAR TOO OFTEN HIS TRICKY TURNS JUST GIVE THE DEFENCE TIME TO COVER. AND WHEN HE PLAYS WIDE HE LEAVES THE FULL BACK EXPOSED

Davis is dodgy. YES HE CAN BE AT TIMES, BUT ON BALANCE WORTH HIS PLACE. BETTER THAN BART ANY DAY

Guly is ****, DON'T TALK SUCH ********

We've come a bloody long way with the same group of players, which IMO has totally shocked me.

YES WE HAVE COME A LONG WAY AND I AM DELIGHTED. BUT WE ARE NOT GOOD ENOUGH FOR THE PREMIER LEAGUE AND WILL NEED TO INVEST HEAVILY.

We are not in the Premier League! This bunch of 'average' players who have been 'found out' sit top of the Championship 8 points clear of 3rd.

Jeez

Having a moan seems reasonable given the inconsistent performances. The last 3 games of 2 wins and one defeat ask more questions than they answer.

Against Brighton, we stopped them having any meaningful attack and no shots on goal but the scoreline only looked respectable because of two extremely doubtful penalties.

Losing to Bristol City was obviously a poor result, but then a poor Watford side score 2 against them.

And now a 2-1 win at home to Hull after going a goal down, several players below par and for the 3rd time recently failing to score against 10 men.

Add to that our manager being less than convincing in his football knowledge when interviewed, always saying the same things about fantastic bunch, hardworking professionals, superb staff, etc. etc. but not a lot about the game itself. Maybe he feels constrained by not having been an outfield player himself but I hope he talks differently to the squad.

WHU fans must feel more confident given the fire their team seems to be showing and the prescence of Big Sam. At the moment I'd back them to overtake Saints before Xmas, but maybe that would be the prompting the club needs to bring in some extra quality in the January window. The gap to 3rd place looks good for promotion, but its still over half the season to go and to lose out on the exceptional opportunity of going up this season that the club now has would be criminal.

Lol clearly a WUM.

What do you suggest ? Dobbing them into the stewards (newly dressed in black shirts) and stand aside to watch them being dragged out of the stadium to the on-hand firing squad ?

I wish you happy-clappys would shut up. Everyone is entitled to make a pr*ck of themselves with their expressed opinion on something. Why does someone talkind cr*p bother you so much ?

Do you ever hear people complain if they overhear someone saying "I reckon we will win promotion" ?

Jeez sometimes you really do take it just that little bit too far for a reaction: so here we go I have put my 10 pence in the slot and will play.

Ready the float is about to go under!!

I am not a happy clapper, I go to watch a game of Football, I like to watch the way we play especially at the moment because believe it or not our current method of play is quite intelligent: maybe I am a bit soft in the head but I get absorbed in watch the game.

And if you read my post properly you would realise that my gripe is not with folks voicing their opinion, but folks spouting complete and utter bo!!ocks from the first whistle to the final whistle.

As you appear not to be a regular attendee at games, here is a simple comparison for you: how many times have you sat watching something of interest to you on the TV and your wife, kids or someone else is having a loud conversation about something else, totally of no interest to you. I bet it gets right on your nerves?

so if you score that means you play well?

but strikers are lucky in that sense, they can have an absolute shocker, and one lucky swing of the boot and they are a hero and all is forgotten. lets face it, the media and fans are quick enough to have a go at a striker when they go half a dozen games without a goal.

i stood up an clapped guly off. Yes, he was well below his best, but he got a goal(somehow) and got us back in the game, and he has been very important to us this season.

In contrast, a, player like Chaplow, (just as an example) can always look good, just by covering vast distances, even on a bad day. Thats how it goes.

This is depressing. It is even possible that our fickle fans could lose us promotion. Last night the atmosphere was flat and the team could have done with more encouragement. We still won because the players did enough as a team and Adkins made the right calls. I just find it incredibly sad that some people become so used to Barcelona football that they expect it every game. Even Barcelona do not play 100% every game. EVERY team has to grind out results when playing below par if they are actually going to win anything. We will be no different but the supporters need to do their part - that is SUPPORT. I know they pay their money dah de dah de dah........but, personally, I would rather they kept their money.

I know there are a few cracks showing but that happens to every team.

I have been supporting Saints for a long time and this is the best I have ever felt. We have never been so dominant over the course of a season. Enjoy the ride.

Me too. People just get exhausted from the relentless euphoria I think. I thought we played our worst home game since possibly Millwall last night, and we still won at a canter really.

If you don't take it too seriously there are some really funny posts around over the last 24 hours. The "proffessor" one on Nigel Adkins obvious lack of understanding of the game is a total classic. Had me in stictches whether he was serious or not.

I thought the booing at half time was bad, but we were pretty bad and 1-0 down against Hull when we've been beating better teams all season at SMS. Luckily we started the 2nd half well and got the crowd going, because I hate to think what the atmosphere would have been like if we hadn't scored until about the 80th minute. My one bit of moaning about our support last night is directed towards the 'lads' at the back of Block 38 who sing the "Cheryl Cole's a slapper" song every 5 minutes at every single f*cking home game this season. There's a reason it's never caught on - because it's a sh!t song. Also, Danny Fox wasn't even playing last night ffs!

UmP, I have to agree with you. Particularly the crowd size - I know £30 is a fair bit, but given our position and how we are playing,

I would have thought another 3-5K would have been there. But at least I could get a beer at half time without queuing for too long.

With the Guly bit, the person next to me was thinking that maybe, like many South Americans do, he was feeling the cold (not that it was that cold).

We always used to say that years ago when we had a "larger Dell " and we got "disappointingly low gates" (says he who lived only half-a-mile from the Dell!)

The fact is that there are a lot of fans who live in " out in the Forest type " areas, and if you don't finish work till late and are maybe over-reliant on public transport - evening games like this are a "non-starter" - not to mention the problem of getting home again afterwards if they do go.

No - disappointing maybe, but not unexpected ! and besides which, sorry but HULL doesn't have the same drawing power as some other sides in this league.

and as far as the comment about Guly feeling the cold...it might not have been cold for you, but if you ever studied climatic stats. for South American countries you'd see that even 15 deg C is cold for some lands, but a November night on the South Coast..is not quite the same.

Boy do we have some moany thick folks following our team, and it's amazing what a colourful assortment we get sat within earshot of us.

Last nights game saw 2 lads sat behind us, all the first half all you got from behind us was a running commentary, with, do this do that do the other, if I was Adkins I would do this I would do that. We should have kept Chamberlain, we haven't been the same since he left, he always made things happen bla bla bla: then along quite a few folks they booed the team at the half time whistle!

The booing around the stadium at half time raised a question from the chap in front: why are folks booing we are only one down and there is another 45 minutes to play............... And we are top of the league too!!

Mrs JBS commented that not only was she listening to the clap trap from behind her but the old bird sat next to her was equally as bad.

Second half we knock our game up a couple of gears Guly scores, normal service on the pitch resumes and the cobblers from behind fades away. However the old Trout next door but one has gotten a bit louder, gem of the latter stages of the game as we are running down the clock, Kelvin is playing you come too close and this ball going past you with a Hull forward, she's shouting come on get on and kick it out.................... Obviously not at the Everton game when we should have headed for the corner rather than trying to guild a very fragile lily.

Then to cap this off walking back to the car I overhear 2 separate conversations moaning about the game and saying that we won't be able to keep this up much longer!!!!!

Why bloomin bother turning up, we are on the best footballing adventure we have been on for ages and the misery guts still aren't happy!!!!!

You shouldn't be sitting in the Director's Area anyway
