trousers Posted 28 November, 2011 Share Posted 28 November, 2011 Bristol City vs Saints Extended "Highlights" now up on Saints Player.... http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/articles/20111128/all-angles-covered-bristol-city-2-0-saints_2264122_2530201/0,,10280~2530201~1,00.html The most pressing question from me....why did we wear blue socks instead of white? Bristol City wore dark socks so that rules out the usual reason (i.e. avoiding a match with opponent's kit).
doddisalegend Posted 28 November, 2011 Share Posted 28 November, 2011 ummm I wonder how many people are desperate to see extended highlights? Two minutes of the bbc highlights were bad enough.. Plus highlights suggests something good wouldn't extended low lights be more accurate?
trousers Posted 28 November, 2011 Author Share Posted 28 November, 2011 (edited) Just finish watching it. Fonte appeared to be playing up front for much of the second half! Edited 28 November, 2011 by trousers

Fair bit of Saints possession around their box, depends how much detail our highlights go into (not seen them yet) and how bothered you are seeing our build up play fail to work? The9 Posted 28 November, 2011 Share Posted 28 November, 2011 Bristol City vs Saints Extended "Highlights" now up on Saints Player.... http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/articles/20111128/all-angles-covered-bristol-city-2-0-saints_2264122_2530201/0,,10280~2530201~1,00.html The most pressing question from me....why did we wear blue socks instead of white? Bristol City wore dark socks so that rules out the usual reason (i.e. avoiding a match with opponent's kit). Not as pressing as the question "why did we and Burnley both wear white socks at Burnley?" or even the "will we wear the usual red socks with the home kit at Fratton and clash with the home side,or switch to the white away ones (which is the colour socks we wore as part of the home kit the last two times anyway) ?" I'm guessing the reason for the blue socks is that we wore them in the last away game we wore yellow in (at Derby, we'd only worn stripes since then), and the kitman forgot to put the white ones back in. Either that, or someone thought City still wore the white socks they had in 2009/10 (below) and 2006/7.
trousers Posted 28 November, 2011 Author Share Posted 28 November, 2011 Either way, I think we should be told. How can we be expected to play like Brazil when we don't look like Brazil? FFS
SuperMikey Posted 28 November, 2011 Share Posted 28 November, 2011 From watching those 15 minutes of highlights, I can deduce that we were pony, Fonte's defending for the 2nd goal was really pony, and Guly was f*cking pony.
The9 Posted 29 November, 2011 Share Posted 29 November, 2011 Either way, I think we should be told. How can we be expected to play like Brazil when we don't look like Brazil? FFS There is another reason, which bizarrely has occurred to me at 4:25am. The Saints store hasn't had the white away socks in stock all season, no other team wears white Umbro socks with blue logos, and the only things close are Joe Hart's white Man C gk socks which don't have the logos on. So it could just be that Umbro don't have any. It's not unprecedented, the season we had the all charcoal away kit we ended up wearing red shorts and socks from February onwards as they'd apparently run out of kit. Mind you we were hurtling towards admin then, there's no excuse now.
