Saints fans beaten up in Bristol

Sorry to hear that. Utter scum.

Hope you are asking questions of the "mate" who legged it and left his mates behind to get a kicking..

My first thoughts also.. Like to of seen the clowns give it large to equal numbers. Majority of football lads are bullys. Even if you'd given it big one. One slap would suffice, kicking a man on the floor is utterly inexcusable.

Lived in Bristol when at Poly there. Went to a few games and found most fans to be ok, but Bristol has more than it's fair share of tools who'll have a pop at anyone. As someone else stated on this thread, town was a no-go on weekends. Glad the lads who got knocked around are ok.

Hi everyone

Bristol City fan here,I first registered back in February 2009,

Sorry to hear about the cowardly attack on the saints in Bristol

Hope the Saints fans that were attacked are recovery okay and back home

When I first registered I think I supplied some local information about your up and coming trip to Bristol and Ashton Gate on 14th February 2009.

Although I can't find any of my postings or replys

Everything in hindsight and maybe if I had supplied the same local information prior to your visit on 26th November 2011.

Things could have been different.

Can I say that like most football clubs,a very tiny element of every club are dinosaurs and caught in a time warp from the 1970's and 1980's.

So can I ask what pub the thugs came out from or even the location or any pictures and videos and I'll put the replys on the various

local Bristol news forums that I subscribe too,so we can track down the pond life that infect all our lives.

Not a nice thing to happen and I hope those attacked recover with no ill effects. However I don't think people should be lumping all Brizzle city fans in with these c unts lets face it there probably isn't a league club in the country who doesn't have an element of fans (using the word very loosely) like this.

Out of interest was there ever any sort of trouble with the brizzle rovers fans the two season we were together in league 1?

This Brizzol mob in the pub, were they all wearing high-vis orange tops with 'Response Team' on? 'Cos they were well up for it inside the ground and the fat git (head steward) was frothing at the mouth waiting for it to kick-off. Didn't anyone get nicked when it got a bit animated down the front when the ex-skate goalie turned round sticking his fingers up when the second went in?

Yeah saw the fat head steward snarling at anything and everyone, saw him tell a Saints fan to 'f**k off' when he complained he couldn't find anywhere to stand. Sums the backward place up completely.

Not surprised to hear this we very nearly got a kicking when we went to see Saints against Rovers 6 of us just walking up the road with a couple of kids and a mob charged across the road at us lucky for us couple of OB on horses spotted what was going on & got between us & them.

I hope Red & White & his mate are ok there are still quite a few grounds where you really need to be careful & Bristol is 1 of them

I saw, at least, one saints steward working in the away end- you would think that would have contributed to a less antagonistic atmosphere (or maybe not)

I saw quite a few. Didn't seem to be doing too much apart from following the Bristol stewards around. I get the theory behind it, but a bit pointless in practice.

There were 4 or 5 and tbf I saw one of them arguing with the wurzel steward who told them to go down and stand in the aisle alongside one group of lads but they had a little exchange of opinion as the Saints ones were saying that would cause more antagonising. Guess they have to tow the home club's line in these situations though.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing! I don't know the name of the pub we walked past, I know where we were confronted though - as I said we were lost and Brizzle is a big place... Wouldn't be able to identify any either.

As there were at least two or three of you who saw this pillock doing the same thing why not send an email to their club giving a description of the bloke? Surely if there was more than one complaint it would be taken seriously (not that 1 complaint shouldnt be taken seriously) but this bloke sounds like a charming fella!

F*ck sake!

I posting on a Saints website by a fan bitter that they've lost

and

everybody seems to be taking the "story'" as true despite the obvious lack of any depth.

The story writer:

* doesn't know the road where it happened

* Doessn't know the pub name

* Doesn't mention the hospital they went to

* They were followed for FIFTEEN minutes before the alleged attack - ???? Why

* The 15 or 7 or was it 3 were shouting "we are Bristol City" - a chant I've NEVER heard used (Saints by the way do chant "We are Southampton" so he probably substituted Bristol City into a Saints chant when he was making up the story)

* Nothing in the EP or RB

* And more tellingly - 14000 City fans making there way home from AG in all directions accross the City and NO ONE saw anything or drove past and saw anything - this was on a main road remember

* They spent "ages" with the Police but nothing from the Police asking for witnessess in the medie etc.

Think about it - the whole thing is a load of cobblers written by some bitter cock on the internet who was put out they lost and wanted to bad mouth us..

1. I do know the road it happened, having had a quick look on google images. Wasn't hard to find since it was only down the road from the station.

2. I don't know the pub name as I didn't really take notice of it after being swung at and kicked.

3. We were taken in a police van to a+e, I have the name of the hospital on a 'head injury advice' leaflet that's at home.

4. I don't know why we were followed for that long, ask them... I don't know why we were followed at all.

5. The 'We are Bristol City' wasn't a chant, it was more of a statement.

6. On their forum someone saw about 15 lads running through town so someone saw them. Happened on a main road so there would be people that drove past.

7. We have two seperate crime reference numbers, police names and numbers and have also had a phone call asking if we want to press charges. Police took all details.

8. I think my mate's fractured cheek bone, his 'glued' up ear and swollen face could show that I'm not a bitter cock who made all this up.

9. Bristol City were better than us, I'm not bitter about that!

Can't believe some of the comments on there. Why would I make this up!! Anyone on here that knows me know I wouldn't make anything like this up, I don't need the attention or the hassle of it. Only posted here so people knew what went on and wouldn't speculate.

EDIT: Just seen this, hope it helps show I'm not a liar! http://www.avonandsomerset.police.uk/LocalPages/NewsDetails.aspx?nsid=24728&t=4&lid=0
