Sour Mash Posted 27 November, 2011 Posted 27 November, 2011 Saints fan & his mate beaten up by about 15 Bristol City 'fans' after the game. Bastards,...... one of them has a fractured cheek bone Where you hear that? Sort of c**tish stunt I'd expect from those Wurzels.
aintforever Posted 27 November, 2011 Posted 27 November, 2011 Doesn't surprise me, Bristol is a dump.
surrey1saint Posted 27 November, 2011 Author Posted 27 November, 2011 (edited) On twitter, totally unprevoked they got lost on way to station, went past 'home' pub were followed and set upon nearby! Edited 27 November, 2011 by surrey1saint
RedAndWhite91 Posted 27 November, 2011 Posted 27 November, 2011 Haven't posted for months but thought I'd come and set the record straight before you get people making assumptions and thinking that we perhaps deserved it, gave it the large one and got a slap, because it was not like that at all. It was completely unprovoked and ridiculous. Basically we walked past a pub and some lads stormed out asking where we were from, then one asked for my phone, I said we were from nowhere and that I didn't have a phone, he swung for me and I ducked it, then he kicked me, we walked off after that thinking that was that. About 15 minutes later, still lost looking for Bristol Temple Meads we realise we're being followed by a group of them, 10-15 I'd say, and there was 3 of us. They get closer starting to shout 'Oi!' but we ignore it and carry on walking. When they got really close, one mate legged it, I turned to see about 5 or 6 of them just laying into my mate... I couldn't leave him so I went over to try and get some off him (he had his face kicked after being dragged to the ground) but then I had 4 or 5 on me just throwing punches and trying to grab me... Don't know how long this went on for but we took a beating, being so outnumbered it was difficult to even defend ourselves. Afterwards they were shouting "WE ARE BRISTOL CITY" and such, think they were quite proud a large group just beat up 2 people who made it clear they didn't want it. Spent ages with the police and then in a+e where yes, my mate suffered a fractured cheek bone. I seem to have got off lightly with only a few sore spots on my head and that but it could have been a lot worse. It was f*cking stupid. Some Saints fans walked past the police van and insinuated that we must have said something to make it kick off, but I think it'd have been incredibly stupid for 3 of us to say something to a pub full of lads. Wrong place, wrong time.
surrey1saint Posted 27 November, 2011 Author Posted 27 November, 2011 Thanks for filling in the details Red & White.... Wrong place at wrong time as you say.

Pity the scores of police hanging around the away end couldn't be bothered to focus on what their local pikies were up to.
saintscottofthenortham Posted 27 November, 2011 Posted 27 November, 2011 Hope you and your mate make a quick recovery mate.
shurlock Posted 27 November, 2011 Posted 27 November, 2011 Absolute mongs known for cheap shots. http://www.thisisbristol.co.uk/Fans-involved-pub-brawl-given-suspended-sentences/story-11291206-detail/story.html Still remember when they came to Southampton in 2008, setting on families and chapelites. Hope you and your mate are OK and back at away games soon.
RedAndWhite91 Posted 27 November, 2011 Posted 27 November, 2011 Cheers yeah I got off surprisingly lightly, we were both quite lucky to be fair. Definitely not gonna put me off going.

About 5 of them got split up and a bit lost, they were then followed and started on by about 20 Bristol. Pathetic they only pick on smaller groups when they got a massive numerical advantage.

Wrong place, wrong time. I think I know who you are, I believe you spoke to us on your way back. There were four of us waiting for a taxi. We realised you'd gone the wrong way after you had gone as we saw 'Templemeads' written on a bus coming towards us.
RedAndWhite91 Posted 27 November, 2011 Posted 27 November, 2011 I don't know what it was called. Was on a main road, that's all I know. As I said we were pretty lost.
Big_Bald_Si Posted 27 November, 2011 Posted 27 November, 2011 This story doesn't shock me at all. I went to Swansea university, and used to goto the odd Swansea game, City came down one game (this was a good 10-11 years ago), and just smashed up a few pubs in town, and when I say smashed up, I mean properly smashed up and did a number on. Idiots, and I hope you're both ok. No idea why people can't just enjoy their football, and enjoy a bit of banter with away fans without it getting f***ing stupid.

We weren't too far from the station when we got attacked, we walked up the road a bit after it happened and could see it.

Because some humans are just naturally aggressive. As we don't have the odd global conflict every 25 years or so nowadays they have no outlet for their aggressivity because most of them are too fat and too lazy for sport.
HedgeEnder Posted 27 November, 2011 Posted 27 November, 2011 There were 5 of us who got lost on the way back to the station and we ended up going in to a 'home' pub. Luckily for us the locals were as good as gold, had a couple beers then one of them gave us a lift to the station! Guess things could have been a whole lot worse.....
Ewell Posted 27 November, 2011 Posted 27 November, 2011 The group I was with had a run in with some of them in Bristol the night before the 2003 cup final. Not nice people.
alpine_saint Posted 27 November, 2011 Posted 27 November, 2011 I think the stupd wurzels have forgotten that they have to come here still this season.... Hope you and your mate are well again soon.
The Majestic Channon Posted 27 November, 2011 Posted 27 November, 2011 i went there for a friendly lates 80's , a pigeon **** on my head and i spent the evening in a cell never been back to that hole since
SaintAndy14 Posted 27 November, 2011 Posted 27 November, 2011 Sorry to read about this mate, hope you and your mate are fine again soon. Hope those idiots get what they deserve one day.
terrasaint Posted 27 November, 2011 Posted 27 November, 2011 My daughter and I sat in the home end. No saints colours and as quiet as mice. Think the two guys sat next to us were saints fans as well. However even talking quietly to my daughter about the game, a moron sat behind picked up that we were saints fans and made a prolonged attempt to antagonise us. ie making very loud donkey noices every time Fonte was on the ball. (Referring to an earlier incident when he completely missed the ball. We felt very intimidated but did not respond. Will not be giving our money to that club again. Cant wait for 30th December!!!!!!
Mr Dad Posted 27 November, 2011 Posted 27 November, 2011 Cheers yeah I got off surprisingly lightly, we were both quite lucky to be fair. Definitely not gonna put me off going. Good lads! Thats the spirit. Just bad luck eh? Hope it doesn't put your mate off either. We need true supporters like yourselves.

As I said, wrong place at the wrong time! Thanks. I don't think he'll be put off! It happens doesn't it. Thanks everyone for asking after us. Just seen this posted on a Bristol City forum as well and it's good to see a lot of their fans agreeing that what the lads done was cowardly and nothing but bullying!
Barry the Badger Posted 27 November, 2011 Posted 27 November, 2011 Payback is a ***** don't worry ! Yes, because what will really help is if Saints fans decide to get payback on a set of Bristol City fans who had nothing to do with this incident.
norwaysaint Posted 27 November, 2011 Posted 27 November, 2011 Payback is a ***** don't worry ! Trying to find a way to read this that doesn't make you look like a cock. Is there one or are you really saying what you seem to be saying? Wouldn't random violence against opposing football fans make you exactly the same as the people who attacked him? Maybe they justified their actions because they felt something was being paid back for a completely unrelated event.
saintrich Posted 27 November, 2011 Posted 27 November, 2011 I was the other one. Got punched and kicked in the head/face by at least 7 different Bristol fans. ******s!

What I'm saying is karma has a way of biting people on their arse no need for all you lot to start getting on your high horse !
RedAndWhite91 Posted 27 November, 2011 Posted 27 November, 2011 I'd like to see the lads that done this get their comeuppance... Seeing 5/6/7 lads pile into your mate with fists and trainers flying in at all angles isn't a nice sight so I'd like to see karma bite them on their arse... I know two wrongs don't make a right but still.
terrasaint Posted 27 November, 2011 Posted 27 November, 2011 Not much consolation I know but just been on Brist City Forum and they are almost unanimously appalled and want the thugs banned for life (if caught) and one suggested 5 years inside.

Leicestersaint Posted 27 November, 2011 Posted 27 November, 2011 I believe that bristol City fans have a certain reputation for this sort of thing. Whether the local police are up to doing anything about what happened remains to be seen.
Turkish Posted 27 November, 2011 Posted 27 November, 2011 Where is our celebrity copper ffs?!!! Surely as well as taking people to court and banning them for this weeks made up offence he has a duty of care to innocent football fans like these lads and to protect them. Why no statement from him next to a well posed for photo declaring how he will work with the local OB to bring these thugs to justice and crushing this sort of behaviour? Come on Ricky boy, you've got a great chance to do a bit of real police work now, raise your game son.

Sour Mash Posted 27 November, 2011 Posted 27 November, 2011 http://www.otib.co.uk/index.php?/topic/141640-saints-fan-in-hospital/ Ha ha, I get a mention on there. Well just in case City fans are reading this, you deserved your win yesterday, Bristol is generally a cracking city for a few beers, but your club has a high number of toothless simpletons following it. That is all.
Fan The Flames Posted 27 November, 2011 Posted 27 November, 2011 I hope you and your mate mend quickly, I went to Bristol Poly and the town centre was a no go zone for long haired students. A kid in my house got beaten so badly for possibly being gay.

Colbury Posted 27 November, 2011 Posted 27 November, 2011 Sorry to hear that. Utter scum. Hope you are asking questions of the "mate" who legged it and left his mates behind to get a kicking..
JRM Posted 27 November, 2011 Posted 27 November, 2011 All the best for the recovery for the lads involved, get yourself along to a game again and don't let it put you off, put it down as one of those experiences, they are a bunch of cowards / bullies for doing that with their numbers, we had a similar incident on the way back to Temple Meads on 2009, my brother and a couple of mates who were chased by 15 or so and luckily got away, we bumped into a similar number who i assume were the same ones who didn't seem as keen when the numbers were even
sammysaint Posted 27 November, 2011 Posted 27 November, 2011 Small Club with small minded people supporting them, shame as im sure some/half of there fans are nice people. Love how it took 15 of them to look ard and scary, hope they try it on the wrong people next time and get a good seeing to, football fans should have banter, not kick the **** out of each other.
saintjinksie Posted 27 November, 2011 Posted 27 November, 2011 Perhaps he wasn't a thug and was shocked and trying to get help?
dune Posted 27 November, 2011 Posted 27 November, 2011 It could happen anywhere, wrong place at the wrong time. It's good to hear that the vast majority of Bristol City fans are appalled by this cowardly act, as the vast majority of us would have been if people claiming to be Saints fans had done similar Glad you're all ok and not put off by this.
Mattio Posted 27 November, 2011 Posted 27 November, 2011 Glad to hear you're all alright mate, hope they catch the ******s...
