dronskisaint Posted 26 November, 2011 Posted 26 November, 2011 Bad day at the office, hope that Chaplow's injury is not too bad but otherwise onwards and upwards. It was bound to happen at some stage...and Tuesday's bounce back should be how we're judged. Wrists intact...we weren't outclassed and are still top -I'll take that.
Bensfcno1 Posted 26 November, 2011 Posted 26 November, 2011 more importantly wer still 5 points above 3rd with a game in hand! If u had said that we would be top and only lost 3 games after 18, i woulda thort u were dreaming! COYS!
Huffton Posted 26 November, 2011 Posted 26 November, 2011 No team is invincible, everyone loses sometimes, its not always a bad thing. Gets peoples feet back on the ground. The important thing is the reaction, batter Hull and its back on the bus full speed ahead, struggle and we could have a problem developing.

"no doubt I shall get over it, probably more quicky than I ought"
saints-cris Posted 26 November, 2011 Posted 26 November, 2011 A win on tuesday and today will be forgotten. We'll lose games.. still a very nice gap between us and 3rd
dronskisaint Posted 26 November, 2011 Author Posted 26 November, 2011 You sound like Mr Bennet. "no doubt I shall get over it, probably more quicky than I ought" French idioms and now Jane Austen!! I just hope Chaplow gets over it quickly!
alpine_saint Posted 26 November, 2011 Posted 26 November, 2011 (edited) If you were all so "over it", you wouldnt have posted. I am p*ssed about it, and aint ashamed to say so. Especially as WHU are tw*ttiing Derby this evening. Even that GD advantage has gone down by 4 today. You all know we cant afford another "off-day" at such a banker fixture.,.. I should have known the words wrist and slit would bring you out... Go back to last year and read your predictions and portents of doom and then you'll realise why nobody takes them seriously...however if it works for you....?!
Ivan Katalinic's 'tache Posted 26 November, 2011 Posted 26 November, 2011 As Nige says: don't get too high when you win or too low when you lose. Next game's at home; beat Hull and the Hammers come unstuck at Boro on Tuesday and all will be fine again.

Don't have to try and stay awake for the FL Show. Result.

Not sure how your logic works there. I was over it as soon as the final whistle went, but seeing as this is a forum for discussing football I still gave my opinion on the game.
doddisalegend Posted 26 November, 2011 Posted 26 November, 2011 Exactly. And also? Don't have to try and stay awake for the FL Show. Result. Yep normally I would but today I'll think I'll give the FL show a miss.
alpine_saint Posted 26 November, 2011 Posted 26 November, 2011 Not sure how your logic works there. Its called "convincing ones self"..........

Mowgli Posted 26 November, 2011 Posted 26 November, 2011 The really good news is that this means Nigel cannot now win the November manager of the month award ) I so hope we sign Maynard in January
S-Clarke Posted 26 November, 2011 Posted 26 November, 2011 Actually, if a top 2 finish is the priority, maybe a Hammers win wouldn't be so bad? Draw for me, get both of them dropping points as long as we win. That's the best outcome for us. I'm already looking forward to Tuesday, It can't come quick enough. Today was one of the few blips we've had in the last few years, we've been incredibly spoilt in terms of wins!
Colinjb Posted 26 November, 2011 Posted 26 November, 2011 I've said it already, but to go up until the end of November and only have one indisputable off day!? I would have taken that in August!!
The9 Posted 27 November, 2011 Posted 27 November, 2011 I've said it already, but to go up until the end of November and only have one indisputable off day!? I would have taken that in August!! Reading away ? Burnley away ? Cardiff away ? Still, I'd have taken only 4 poor performances in 18 as well.
derry Posted 27 November, 2011 Posted 27 November, 2011 I sensed a bit of complacency / counting chickens in some of the quotes from players. I thought that BC was the banana skin and if we didn't dominate from the start we may struggle. There have been a number of occasions in the past where a poor performance, ie. Walsall, Orient last year, Leicester and Cardiff this year has brought about instant reappraisal and a refocusing of the teams inner force. A defeat in these circumstances can have a positive effect and put a bomb under any relaxation. On the playing side very likely without Chaplow we need to replace his energy, Stroller won't do that, maybe give Lallana a rest and play De Ridder, unless both are played, which would be my choice, but only two from three of the central midfielders, we play too much in front of the opposing defence and are too one paced with all three together, ok to close out a game in the lead but not to start.
Whitey Grandad Posted 28 November, 2011 Posted 28 November, 2011 If nothing else it's delayed our promotion by a week.
Colinjb Posted 28 November, 2011 Posted 28 November, 2011 Reading away ? Burnley away ? Cardiff away ? Still, I'd have taken only 4 poor performances in 18 as well. Point, Point and still played well for spells against a regular play-off finisher but shot ourselves in the foot. Not quite in the same level as losing to the bottom of the league side.
Cabrone Posted 28 November, 2011 Posted 28 November, 2011 I think BCs league position is a bit false and Maynard is coming back on form so it was always going to be a tough one. My preseason hope was an outside shot at play offs and we are currently exceeding that by a country mile so I'm just putting it down as one of those days. Be interesting on Tuesday as Hull are a decent side and will punish us if we don't show 100%.
LostBoys Posted 28 November, 2011 Posted 28 November, 2011 I will let you know at 10 o clock on Tuesday night
