S-Clarke Posted 26 November, 2011 Share Posted 26 November, 2011 To be fair though we'll have our blips at home this year too. Our home form has been amazing, and it is the reason we are top. Our away form has been patchy all season to be honest, hope we can get some sort of consistency away soon!
1976_Child Posted 26 November, 2011 Share Posted 26 November, 2011 Nonsense. We need to be taking more from away games. Win-draw-lose over three games gives us 4 points from 9.

Surely we can win that one!?!?! They're a weird team. They're being filled up with ex-premiership and European top flight players, so in that sense they'll be dangerous. Micky Posted 26 November, 2011 Share Posted 26 November, 2011 Quite suprised that people are so blase about it really. Let's be honest our away form is cack, should we be beating relegation form teams on their own patch - if we are serious about our own promotion credentials - too right we should. Yes our home form is faultless - but that can quickly change (and will), therefore we need to be capatilising on opportunities - not squandering them. Today was an opportunity lost - WHU have taken their opportunity and now are within touching distance - they could overhaul us this week. We will not go through the season unbeaten at home - we will lose. Our away form could well be the achilles heel that, at the end of the day, sees yet more seasons in the Championship. Our away form is won 3 drawn 3 lost 3. It is a long way from 'cack'. It's decent but it is probably something we need to pimprove on if we have aspirations of winning the leage. However, in a normal season getting to about 85 points is enough for automatic promotion. If our away form continued as it is through the season we would pick up another 18 points roughly on the road which would leave us needing about 9 wins from our 14 remaining home games. Very achievable When you look at it that way it gives a bit of perspective. This is the Championship, you are not going to win every game and our players are going to have off days. So will West ham, and Boro and Cardiff etc etc If we take anything from today then maybe it's that we are still lacking that bit of quality up front with pace to play with Lambert. Every time i see Maynard play he looks more and more like a premier league player to me. Hope we go in for him in January

Window Cleaner Posted 27 November, 2011 Share Posted 27 November, 2011 Barcelona lost yesterday as well, it happens but then again I didn't think we looked very great against Brighton in the first half either. If they had managed to score before us then we might have struggled to get back into it .You all know that I don't think Lallana is playing up to his potential at the moment and personally I'd sit him against Hull and use a real winger,ie Holmes, in his place. We will have a bloomin tough time winning every home game. agree, but reckon winning every home game (having comfortably beaten Leeds, West Ham, Brighton and Middlesborough and being most consistent home side in the country) is a lot more likely than us losing every away game. Over the course of the season, so far, we are the form side, quite simple really. Therefore it's not unrealistic to have expected to get something from a game against one of the lower sides in the league. I am more than happy with our current position - but I still think that yesterday was a lost opportunity.
NickG Posted 27 November, 2011 Author Share Posted 27 November, 2011 expectations have risen, think people expect something from each game as we go into it, but we can't be surprised that we are dropping odd points. The only other teams who are better in current form than yesterday's game are West Ham and Cardiff. In this division when so many teams take points off top teams, dropping points away from home against one of the form teams is not too surprising, or a disaster. Reckon our home performances will carry us, and if we are going to be a promotion side - think it will be because our home games give us almost enough points, as above,
