1976_Child Posted 26 November, 2011 Share Posted 26 November, 2011 At least Bristols win mean the skates are only 1 point from relegation zone! silver lining!
Window Cleaner Posted 26 November, 2011 Share Posted 26 November, 2011 We have just lost out first game in 9 after 4 straight wins.....this is real life football not bloody Football Manager 2012 ffs. The real bad news is Chaplow's injury. Chaplow didn't start the season in that position Guly did,so all we have to do is put it back to where it was with Rickie and Barney at the front and 2 of Lallana,Guly and De Ridder on the wide berths. What we do need to do is stop titting about with Hammond and start our best CM pairing.

martyg1950 Posted 26 November, 2011 Share Posted 26 November, 2011 look, we were obviously **** poor today. Just because some of us point this out does not make us whiners etc. Something was not right today, we got turned over. If we are to be top at the end of the season we need to get more from our away games. At some point our home form will slip. You don't win divisions with a mediocre away form. Must do better. And that is not whining, it is the mentality of winners. There is no harm in looking to strengthen when you can, I'm sure all such opportunities are persued 'in the building' Another trait of the mentality of winners is that when they (inevitably) have a bad day, they don't over analyze it or panic, they push on and keep going. We are top of the table for a reason, we have more 'good days' than 'bad days' nothing fundemental has changed today. My glass is still 95% full, someone just took a sip out of it is all
M271 Posted 26 November, 2011 Share Posted 26 November, 2011 Pity Cardiff didn't draw, a part than that not a bad set of results for us from the chasing teams. Now need Derby to do us a favour. Couldn't get to the match today but it sounded like one of those days when we created very little and couldn't pass the ball to each other or get it to our forwards in threatening positions, a bit like the Reading game but without the last 15 minute push, if De Ridder had got the predicted goal on 73 minutes rather than skying it it could have been so different. Saint J 77 Posted 26 November, 2011 Share Posted 26 November, 2011 We should have won today. It doesn't matter that Bristol city have been improving. We should have won. Its as simple as that. No its not the end of the world but it feels really crappy to lose to a team down the bottom. Hopefully the team responds with 3 points on Tuesday night. Nexstar Posted 26 November, 2011 Share Posted 26 November, 2011 Badly need to sort our away form out. Our position is not worthy of 1 win away from home since August.
the wedge Posted 26 November, 2011 Share Posted 26 November, 2011 On the way home. We got found out today a little. Chaplow's exit was key, but we were all off colour today. Here's hoping we pick it back up for the next game.

Norm Posted 26 November, 2011 Share Posted 26 November, 2011 Disappointed, yes. Surprised, no. City are playing really well at the moment (friend suopports them). We have not played that well away. Result, as I feared. Onwards we go.
sfc4prem Posted 26 November, 2011 Share Posted 26 November, 2011 If you look at it our away form really is poor for a team pushing for promotion... Can't rely on our home form, we will slip up sooner or later at St Mary's. In danger of getting sucked into the playoffs if it doesn't improve. Gap between us and the playoffs cut down to 5 points

Vershinin Posted 26 November, 2011 Share Posted 26 November, 2011 As Nigel says 'not too high when we win, not too low when we lose'. ****ing annoying though. Why cannot we impose ourselves away from home as we do at St Mary's??? I have seen every home game and no away games so my opinion is a bit jilted, but sounds on radio that we need to be more direct away from home. Too much passing and clever touches in crucial areas; its great at St Marys, but maybe away we need to pepper the keeper with more shots?? At St Marys we are so ****ing good, its so ****ing frustrating that we cannot do it away.

We have not played that well away. Result, as I feared. Onwards we go. McInnes has had a very positive effect on them and they will undoubtedly push up the table. We have an average away record and are yet to play a number of the top teams in the league away. But, like you, I thought this wasn't overly unexpected. St Marco Posted 26 November, 2011 Share Posted 26 November, 2011 We were totally gash today. Some strange tactics and team selections by Nige. Not quite sure with the whole Morgan on the right thing when we had Shteve on the bench. That said our away record is pretty crap when you look at it. Two wins in 10 or something right? It needs to improve because eventually those wins against teams like Borough and West Ham will be cancelled out if we lose to them away. But you can't win them all can you. However when we win it is right to praise them, when you lose it is right to be critical and try and figure out where we went wrong so we can pinpoint our weaknesses and try and fix them. Pointing them out does not make you a whiner at all.

ericofarabia Posted 26 November, 2011 Share Posted 26 November, 2011 2 deflected goals .... be interesting to see if they were saveable before the deflections. At the end of the day we created eck all though so a 0-0 was the best we could have hoped for.
Window Cleaner Posted 26 November, 2011 Share Posted 26 November, 2011 That must have been Steve's 4th booking of the season today,Jos's second (or so I think). That's pretty awful from Steve to be honest, he's played what 3 or 4 hours of football and got 4 yellows. Doubt if Nigel trusts him to go 90 without getting sent off for 2 yellows.Plus Chaplow does his share on the defensive side in midfield,De Ridder is a lame duck on the defensive.
