I'm pretty sure he wouldn't have put out any stories about snubbing Saints - jounalistic artistic licence just to make it a story. Good luck to him at Sheff Utd, at least he's going somewhere where he had happy times and the fans will hopefully give hima bit of time to get up to match fitness.

Just read that article. The headline "Beattie Snubbed Southampton" bears no resemblence to the quotes from Beattie in the article. I thought they scrapped the journalist YTS scheme decades ago...? I believe the correct phrase is: "Move on, nothing to see here"

Listen to the current Leveson Inquiry and realise that journalists make things up! Classic this week when Gordon Taylor's phone was hacked. The message to GT hacked was a young female voice saying - "Gordon you were wonderful yesterday!" And you can imagine what the journos made of that. The truth is, the young lady was phoning to thank Gordon Taylor for speaking at her father's funeral the previous day.
