Not the most thrilling thread I'll grant you, but anybody else seen these around and about the city? Driving into Southampton off The Avenue this morning I spotted them lining either side of the road, thought they looked class (not sure how I've missed them unless they went up today - drive down there every day!) Messages like "Together We Stand" and "Passion & Pride" on them.

I'm sure there'll be some cynics that say it's a waste of money, but I think they're a good way to capitalise on the very real buzz that there is about the team at present. Can't hurt in terms of getting a few more people through the turnstiles surely? If nothing else it's just brilliant to be able to display some pride for the team.

I think they could be better but overall more positive than negative

A couple of friends from outside the city have commented on the 'obvous pride of the city in the football club'

Nice to get such plaudits

They were there for the last home game, I think they're a nice touch. Got a few different slogans - "Pride and Passion" seemed appropriate on Saturday for some reason. :D

Saw them last Saturday, I think it is impressive - it's as if finally there is something to be proud of again and the City doesn't havve to skulk around with it's head lowered.

Not sure how the Together We Stand one is that clever though.

I was totally unsure if I was meant to stand up in The Chapel all through game.

All these new uber rules.

Stand Up

Sit Down

Can't Sing in Chapel

Can't wear Reeboks or is it Adidas or was it Stone Island

Can't leave early to get in the queue for a beer

No time to queue for a beer

Can't leave early

Can't wear a shirt, must wear a shirt

Anyways the OS has a competition coming up this week to win some of the banners according to Twitter

It was also nice when the Saints Trust did something similar in the Championship season we barely stayed up, but I'm not expecting much support for them in these parts nowadays.

Cringe worthy and something you'd more likely see in America.
This attitude really gets my goat! Why is anything trying to appeal to the local population, who are not general football going folk, cringeworthy? It's about having pride in your city and a successful football team is part of that. Why not shout it from the rooftops?!!

Because we dont want more scarfers/tea drinkers at games. We want more lads. Also having these adds up might make more women go to games. That is wrong.
And you would have about 7,000 people cramming into what would now be left of a very dilapidated Dell, watching lower league football, with no money and no prospects. At least they'd all be 'ard men though, eh?

Very inclusive.

That we can agree on. Women have no place in football. Except maybe doing the laundry.
