Amesbury Saint Posted 24 November, 2011 Posted 24 November, 2011 Oldest son and me with the saints fans. Youngest son and wife in the Fratton End with the blue few! Anyone else got a divided family on 18th Dec?
scott_saints Posted 24 November, 2011 Posted 24 November, 2011 You have failed as a father if a son of yours supports them lot.
saintscottofthenortham Posted 24 November, 2011 Posted 24 November, 2011 SH*T. I thought talk of this was just myth.
hypochondriac Posted 24 November, 2011 Posted 24 November, 2011 Oldest son and me with the saints fans. Youngest son and wife in the Fratton End with the blue few! Anyone else got a divided family on 18th Dec? I would never marry a skate, let alone let a son of mine become one. You should be ashamed.
Colinjb Posted 24 November, 2011 Posted 24 November, 2011 Oldest son and me with the saints fans. Youngest son and wife in the Fratton End with the blue few! Anyone else got a divided family on 18th Dec? My goodness, the rumours of someone sleeping with the enemy are true!!!!!
buctootim Posted 24 November, 2011 Posted 24 November, 2011 I assumed it was because he could only get two home tickets so just dumped the missus and the youngest in with the skates. He's probably making them catch the bus as well.
DJ_TOAST Posted 24 November, 2011 Posted 24 November, 2011 I would never marry a skate, let alone let a son of mine become one. You should be ashamed. What he said. Surprised you've even openly admitted it to people.
Lazlo78 Posted 24 November, 2011 Posted 24 November, 2011 Oldest son and me with the saints fans. Youngest son and wife in the Fratton End with the blue few! Anyone else got a divided family on 18th Dec? It seems the crowd wasn't ready for such a controversial question. Try again in 20 years or so...
Colinjb Posted 24 November, 2011 Posted 24 November, 2011 It seems the crowd wasn't ready for such a controversial question. Try again in 20 years or so... It would take many, many instances of this type of story being covered in a soap opera and lots of 'pride' parades before it becomes something that you can discuss in the open.
Rebel Posted 24 November, 2011 Posted 24 November, 2011 My brother-in-law will be in the home end with his cousin. My nephew - his son - has a season ticket at St Marys along with me and my father. We're not taking to Fratton Park for this game though - although he's been there a few times with his Dad.
View From The Top Posted 24 November, 2011 Posted 24 November, 2011 Oldest son and me with the saints fans. Youngest son and wife in the Fratton End with the blue few! Anyone else got a divided family on 18th Dec? Sorry, but that's just wrong.
hamster Posted 24 November, 2011 Posted 24 November, 2011 My brother, born in Fratton. Dirty fish ****ing skate bastard, married a Saint bird though so I guess he's trying to better himself.
Colinjb Posted 24 November, 2011 Posted 24 November, 2011 My brother, born in Fratton. Dirty fish ****ing skate bastard, married a Saint bird though so I guess he's trying to better himself. And her excuse!?
Panda Posted 24 November, 2011 Posted 24 November, 2011 My brother, born in Fratton. Dirty fish ****ing skate bastard, married a Saint bird though so I guess he's trying to better himself. Love it! Just goes to show that although he is your brother you are prepared to speak the truth in the name of Saints! Let's hope you and his wife can bring him in to the real world. Perhaps recent developments will help too?
latter day saint Posted 24 November, 2011 Posted 24 November, 2011 This is absolutely sickening. I agree. I feel dirty after reading this
scott_saints Posted 24 November, 2011 Posted 24 November, 2011 I just choked on my own vomit because of this.
Fan The Flames Posted 24 November, 2011 Posted 24 November, 2011 This mock horror is boring roll on the 18th.
Tamesaint Posted 24 November, 2011 Posted 24 November, 2011 My brother-in-law will be in the home end with his cousin. If he was a true Skate his cousin would also be his wife.
CFSFC Posted 24 November, 2011 Posted 24 November, 2011 I feel violently Ill, no son of mine would ever do this to me. If he did I'd smack the little f*cker
Mattio Posted 24 November, 2011 Posted 24 November, 2011 surely your family should be terminally split?! I hope this is a really good troll!
Patrick Bateman Posted 25 November, 2011 Posted 25 November, 2011 Utterly appalled last night after reading this, I had to go for a 10 mile run to burn off my anger, then have a long shower, drink 2 bottles of red and sleep on it. Only now can I reply to say how utterly appalled I am. You let your son become one of them? Shame on you.
trousers Posted 25 November, 2011 Posted 25 November, 2011 The OP is an utter disgrace. Don't you realise football is more important than life itself? FFS. I've called Social Services.
darren2 Posted 25 November, 2011 Posted 25 November, 2011 I assume you have your wife and youngest in a caravan at the bottom of the garden?? therefore the divide will be normal
doddisalegend Posted 25 November, 2011 Posted 25 November, 2011 Nope my kids are red and white (my wife has no intereset in football what so ever). My six year old daughter won't even shout "come on you blues" when watching her big brother play on a sunday morning becuase Pompey wear blue and people might think she likes pompey.........
Dog Posted 25 November, 2011 Posted 25 November, 2011 Push her down the stairs, there's plenty more fish in the sea.
Jack Posted 25 November, 2011 Posted 25 November, 2011 Living in Locks Heath, there are a lot of cases of this type of thing. The mrs isn't really into football but her old man and his 4 brothers are all skates. Would be so sweet to smash them at their place after all the sh*t I got after the last game
for_heaven's_Saint Posted 25 November, 2011 Posted 25 November, 2011 Push her down the stairs, there's plenty more fish in the sea. I think he should steer clear of fish all together!

The mrs isn't really into football but her old man and his 4 brothers are all skates. Would be so sweet to smash them at their place after all the sh*t I got after the last game Bloody Hell - Thats nearly half their crowd !!
jasoneuelllfanclub Posted 25 November, 2011 Posted 25 November, 2011 My late grandad actually supported by saints and portsmouth. in his younger years he would go to both the dell and fratton park. he lived in sarisbury green so i guess he felt in the middle of the divide. i live in portchester myself but was born and bred in southampton so obviously support saints. my mrs and family are from portsmouth and "support" portsmouth. when I say support i mean they watched the fa cup final. it will be paradise if we beat them next month but hell on earth if we lose. i will go in to hiding until april if that happens lol
poppedout76 Posted 25 November, 2011 Posted 25 November, 2011 Grandad was red and white, but was based in Pompey during the war, and set up home there. Hence whole family became skate lovers. I was born 76, apparently sat with Grandad whole of the final glued to TV. First opportunity to get me up the dell, we were there. He got me my first season ticket 83-84 season, wallace, worthington, moran etc etc. Probably the greatest team ever. No looking back. I guess i'm the black sheep of the family, looking forward to spending all that sunday afternoon, looking very smug!!!!
sambosa75 Posted 25 November, 2011 Posted 25 November, 2011 Oldest son and me with the saints fans. Youngest son and wife in the Fratton End with the blue few! Anyone else got a divided family on 18th Dec? I could not live with this. I know some people are feigning outrage on this thread but honestly, if my skate wife (just about acceptable if shes from Pompey and not really in to her football) ever tried brain washing a kid of mine in to supporting them it probably would be grounds for divorce. I just couldn't bear watching my flesh and blood running around in a Pompey shirt. Probably sounds harsh but football is such a big part of my life and I can't wait until the day I can take my son(s) down to SMS. I genuinely think I would love my child less if they decided to support them.
Hatch Posted 25 November, 2011 Posted 25 November, 2011 Are there operations on the NHS that can cure this?
Wycombe Saint Posted 25 November, 2011 Posted 25 November, 2011 I pulled a girl in town a couple of years ago, and then was distraught to see that she removed her cardigan later in the night and was wearing a Skates top. My mates were all taking the **** out of me. Unfortunately she had an accident later in the night and was found at the bottom of a flight of steps, my mates still think it was me who pushed her!
Ivan Katalinic's 'tache Posted 25 November, 2011 Posted 25 November, 2011 There will be divided loyalties in my familly too, unfortunately. My son and I really, really, really hate Pompey whereas my wife and daughter only really, really hate them. Serious stuff.
Marsdinho Posted 25 November, 2011 Posted 25 November, 2011 Surely the OP has to explain himself.....please can he they enlighten us as to how his young son ended up being a skate. How the hell has the wife got her way and turned him into one of the few. Would have liked to be a fly on the wall when that conversation took place, assuming there was one !!!!
notnowcato Posted 25 November, 2011 Posted 25 November, 2011 Disgusting! Can we update the title with a NSFLV... Not Suitable For Lunchtime Viewing
70's Mike Posted 25 November, 2011 Posted 25 November, 2011 wife comes from Wymering but has been "turned" to the force during 28 years of marriage, big skate family which other than Weddings and Funerals i do not see, my 2 sons 23 and 16 have NOTHING to do with their cousins. Good thing is other than one or two the only time they have got involved with football was to be part of the 500 million on Southsea Common Skate Ba*tards

Mate of mine did the same only it got a bit Ahem further - he got some great photos of said young lady wearing a Saints shirt in what some would call uncompromising positions!

thesaint78 Posted 25 November, 2011 Posted 25 November, 2011 My dad and uncle are Pompey fans but they were not able to take me to the dark side
trousers Posted 25 November, 2011 Posted 25 November, 2011 My Dad's brother used to play for Pompey in the 1960s
sambosa75 Posted 25 November, 2011 Posted 25 November, 2011 My Dad's brother used to play for Pompey in the 1960s I particularly like how you don't refer to him as your Uncle.
jawillwill Posted 25 November, 2011 Posted 25 November, 2011 My mum's brother's nephew's father's son is cool.
markyboy Posted 25 November, 2011 Posted 25 November, 2011 All dad's side of family are from Portsmouth, so are skates. I was saved from the blue few by being fostered in Winchester and taken down the Dell by my step brother's brother in law. Down there tomorrow actually so will thoroughly clean myself when I get back home.
Huffton Posted 25 November, 2011 Posted 25 November, 2011 I have no one in my family tree that comes from, or has links to, down there. I am pure, the rest of you are all tainted half breeds. That is all. You semi-skate bastards, were coming for (half) of you...
Draino76 Posted 25 November, 2011 Posted 25 November, 2011 My family is mainly Southampton, Man City and Barcelona. A pretty successful bunch IMO.
1976_Child Posted 26 November, 2011 Posted 26 November, 2011 Dude, if I was you I would tell oldest-nipper that his younger sibling and his mam are just plain wrong. Misguided. Keep the son-the-elder close to your heart, and never give up on son-the-younger. There are stories of prodigal sons returning to the true light, just pray that the the younger gets to see this light. As for the missus. Well for God's sake man. If she is sheltering under your roof, then she damn well does what you say. And that is swear to the Red and White. Did you not vet this bint before poking her? Crying out loud. Now she's got one of your nippers turned agin you.
Mouldy Coat Posted 26 November, 2011 Posted 26 November, 2011 (edited) This post turns my stomach, If I had a skate son I would be nearly as sick if he came out the closet. Not worth thinking about. Lock this post Edited 26 November, 2011 by Mouldy Coat
