Portsmouth away tickets - ballot reopened!

All of the applications are in the shoe boxes behind him.....fact

The official process has been, application arrives, open envelope, put application in shoe box, squeeze down other application, kick dropped applications under the table, put shoe box back on top of other shoe boxes, leave until 1 week before match then pick a couple of shoe boxes at random. Any problems from 'customers' blame it on the police.

I applied in the first ballot and checked today on my on-line account and there were still no tickets showing. I rang the club about an hour ago and was told there are about 300 applications still to be added to on-line accounts. I checked my account about 10 minutes ago and they are now showing on there. panic over! if you are still waiting, I reckon they will all be on by the end of the day.

I imagine 300 applications is probably somewhere in the region of 700-1,200 tickets. So about half of the first ballot, which will probably take them another good few days to sort through.

OK, so it doesn't seem as though they're doing them in any particular order. Mine was done on Monday (averaging 7 or 8 aways, I think, from 4 of us), while Spudgun, who's not a ST holder had his done seemingly before yours.

If they are doing this in no particular order what are the odds that a non season ticket holder with no away matches gets one and they run out before they get to a season ticket holder with 5+? THis farce has a few more f*ck ups in store for us yet lads, they aint even started yet...

I'd assume that they've waited until they have all the tickets allocated to suitable people and they now have a big pile of shoeboxes with all the right applications in that they're now just processing in no particular order.

Those who appear to have just had their applications processed, how many away games have you got?

Done 4 sways but only had 2 on my account. They're obviously not the applications in order of away games. I doubt there's any structure to the whole thing TBF

You also need to assume that this is a slick, well run operation for that to be the case and we all know it isn't.

but it still doesn't mention the number sold?! so we'll only know on the day if there are big areas of segregation

We can only assume its 3,200, that is what they said the allocation was. If it's any less than that then we've sold all we were allowed.

wasn't it reported that we had the entire end? which is 3,200 ish
I don't think the end holds quite that many anyway. Point being we don't know how much segregation they intend to use. It might now be increased a bit from what was originally intended so they can say its 'sold out'. F**k it, at least its now officially sold out.

If we have the whole end how much segregation is needed? They might have done what we do in block 3, and segregated their end away a bit further from our end

I'm not sure if you get my point. But anyway, for example, when Millwall used to put away fans in the lower tier, they used to leave a block at each side empty.

ah yes, I am with you. They may do that indeed. All we could do was sell what was there I guess.

Pompey's online ticket system had the Milton end set as unavailable as soon as the tickets went on sale to home fans, so can only assume we do have the whole end. However, I would expect the actual allocation to be a bit less than 3200, they'll stick netting for the end few seats of both end blocks. Brighton sold about 3050 for their trip there, and that was their first away game of the season, so would assume they sold out as well.
