Portsmouth away tickets - ballot reopened!

it certainly is a hassle, but in the end its less miles than driving up to Old Trafford though and you'd do that right?
Exactly. Everyone knowsits a massive pain, everyone knows it's over priced and yes, it might put off families etc, but if our support is anywhere as good as some like to make out, we should have 3000 people who will put up with it for this game.

It will be pretty difficult to defend our fanbase should we fail to sale this out as Skates will bring 3,200 to St. Mary's.

One of my mates was told by the ticket office that there were more applications for Bournemouth away last season then there has been for Skates away. I thought we didn't care about Bournemouth?

I went to Bournemouth and had a ****ing TOP day out. I also 'don't care' about them. However, i am not going to Pompey for several reasons. Sure, if we win everyone there will have a truly unbelievable day out. However, i refuse to be pushed around by old bill all day and forced to travel and pay for something that i don't want. When the fixtures came out, this was the game i wanted to go to. But quite frankly, the last 2 months have been nothing short of a farce and the more i hear, the more i just want to watch the game with mates in town.

The way the Pompey game has transpired, isn't about what a football away day is in my opinion. Sorry lads, but count me out of this one.

You would think that precisely because its a massive pain that it would reassure families - after all, the hassle is being justified in the name of safety. I've got even less time for those who say that the bubble is taking all the fun out of a proper away day and strolling around pompey. The skates are the skates. Absolutely no excuses for this one.

I assume I've got a ticket if it hasn't sold out and I applied in the second ballot. Surely they will open it up to everyone now just to make sure we take the full ammount.

If I've got a ticket, I'm ganna make so much ****ing noise I wont care to be honest, but it'd be a shame if we didn't sell out.

In fairness, there's an ever-growing list of reasons why people might not bother with it. Even the timing of the game, being the last weekend before Christmas, might even be one factor for some. Then of course there's the lack of faith in our ticket office to actually process applications properly, having to collect coach tickets in person (with only one matchday available for that collection), etc.

To me, it doesn't matter if we sell out or not.

Look at it this way, the less we take, the less money they get..... The 2,500 or so who do go (I think we'll sell out) will not let us down.

Wouldn't count on them getting less money, they have probably made us pay for the full allocation.Didn't we do that to them

the last time round.

However, a massive chance to see your team smash their rivals at their place should be enough reason to man up and put up with all this bull****, IMO.

"As the Daily Echo went to press there were still several hundred tickets available in the Southampton allocation, leading police chiefs to believe that hundreds of seats in the away end could be empty"

lets be honest, this is going to look really sh*t on tv with a half full away end

It will be the most embarrassing thing that has ever happened if we don't sell out for Pompey. I would have paid 100 quid for travel and tickets to be there. I don't care how I get there, it means too much to miss out on. Those that are missing it because they can't be ars*d with the bubble, get out of your armchair and get on with it.

So what, I'm going and no pathetic bubble or inconvenience would stop me.

Fair play to you, and no Saints fan in Hants has any excuse, but for me (and i've never missed a derby since te early 90's) having to pick up a coach pass at a cost of 60 quid in fuel and 6 hours driving has just made it too much hassle.

Agreed. If it had been moved to Glasgow I still would have tried to get a ticket. We could actually embarrass them, and a coach journey / bit of hassle is putting people off.

Spose we are all different but I wouldn't miss it for the world! (given the opportunity, which I never thought I'd have being a non season ticket holder)

To be honest, I know it's ball-ache and it's expensive - but, in my 33 years this fixture has only happened 4 times! We've only played each other 11 times in total in that time. People are mental to pass this up, especially as it could be the last one for a while (all going well...).

It'll be the best scenario possible. If the police then claim a success it'll look hollow and it will alienate them from fans. It'll be a public relations disaster.

If I offer to pick up your coach pass, will you go then?

if last night was the last time for those with four aways to apply, then surely they will have counted up all the applications today and could then make an announcement about those with less than four aways applying. Either the allocation has sold out or the ticket office are slow in counting and preventing genuine fans from buying tickets. I doubt it is the latter, but if it is then it just adds to the shambles.

As I said a while back don't think they will open it up to a general sale. They've relaxed it a bit to allow "non STH regular away fans", but I reckon that will be about it.

I wonder whether the 4 aways rule was set by Superintendent Burrows?

The non postage of bus tickets was his decision according to the person I spoke to at the ticket office, so it would not be a surprise to me.

I would suggest that they consider the "hardcore away support" not a problem hence the 4 aways. Seems an odd number otherwise.

Why the flying f**k they just couldn't put them on general sale I don't know. Pathetic but typical of the rozzers.

My thoughts exactly.

This whole bubble arrangement needs challenging through the courts. Hopefully the FSF will.

Why?

Just think they are trying to limit the number who go and perhaps more importantly who goes.

Think the Club may have pushed OB to allow a select few non STH regaular travellers to go (probably in response to pressure from fans), but OB don't want "general" fans just going along for this one game.

There's still just undcer three weeks to the game, so why stop making tickets available if they're not sold out??

More probably because so few were sold and the utter embarrassment dictated that more HAD to be sold. Even after this second round it's looking probable that we are going to be mocked forevermore for not selling out for a derby.

Yep. Also surely if you were looking for trouble you would just get the train down?

Are there that many people who have been to four or more aways and aren't season ticket holders?

Why would a fan with a purchasing history on the database (but who doesn't have a ST or hasn't done four aways) be a problem for the OB?

to be fair there's a lot of people making excuses for basically bottling it. We're going away to the skates and bubble or not it's still probably the easiest away game for 90% of our fan base. Now if you're not making the effort and could've (i.e have for other aways this season and regularly enough to qualify for a ticket) i'm pretty ashamed of you to be honest.

Still at least we know those that will be going will have a bit of backbone and actually be up for it.

Including Cork Morris's and my 9yo nippers!

Far too many of our "fans" are 'kin gutless.
