Portsmouth away tickets - ballot reopened!

For those getting the bubble bus at Bursledon, does it say where? Just curious, seeing as the away fans Park and ride compound is the site of a huge car boot sale every Sunday

Bloody good point A, yet another possible c o c k up on the cards people will be going in for the park & ride just as the boot sale site starts to empty.

Does it state what time you have to "check in" for departure? 12.15 from Winchester is really cutting it fine even though police outriders and logistical measures should mean a clear run.

No nothing.. Just an invoice online. Maybe the email will shed more light.

I've emailed the ticket office about it, no reply.. (surprise, surprise)

Dear COMEONYOUREDS,

The time on the ticket is a template for us down at the ticket office. You will receive a confirmation email within the next few days explaining all the details of the day.

In other words... the bus aint leaving at 12.15, either they changed their mind/realised the error of their ways or thought the game was still at 3..

My orders never show up in my history online, it only ever shows tickets bought on the online system and not ones purchased with my ST number via phone/ticket office.

I called them to ask if they could tell from my record if they had received my form from the 1st ballot - as I have had no debit from my bank card and they didn't want to help...

I pointed out that I have no way of telling whether they received my letter (which I agree, my fault for not sending recorded) and I did explain that I was only asking as tomorrow is the deadline for a new form if Royal Mail screwed me...

Gave me an answer of "they haven't started processing them yet - just a massive pile of papers at the mo".

Was well and truly fobbed off I think, seeing as some have had receipts and payments taken...

But hey ho - If I'm ok, I'm ok...

If not, a pub will suffice :-)

Still nothing on my purchase history, no email, and no money taken from my bank account, although I can't tell if that amount of money has been made 'unavailable' to me.

Shocking lack of communication considering how long ago the ballot ended. They know that everyone who applied has got a ticket, surely a bit of an insight as to what the f*ck is actually going on, is not that hard to provide??

I have tickets on my purchase history.

I am assuming that the bus time is just a catch-all time for system purposes, and that the e-mail (which will presumably be sent to everyone at the same time, so after the 2nd ballot) will give the more detailed information.

I'd expect that the departures will likely be stagged between 10 and 12, but that is little more than a guess.

Never been staggered before, OB will take convoy down Eastern Road ignoring the traffic lights

when I asked before applying I was told it was at the park and ride compound. Do they have car boots there in the winter?

Only the biggest car boot sale in the UK (according to their website)

Every Sunday

And that'll be the last one before Xmas so probably the busiest of the year

Wonder if anyone has told them ?

wonder if they could use the bit of land where the exit onto Bursledon Rd is for the park & ride as it can be closed off from the car boot area ?

Bursledon is the nearest pick up point for me but I'm getting the bus from St Mary's for precisely the reasons mentioned above. I can't see anything other traffic chaos at Windhover that day.

There is a chance the boot fair wouldn't be on though. Presumably the owners of the field will get paid by the club for using it, and really...who needs to go to a boot fair the weekend before Xmas?

Tesco's will be rammed though. Likely to be 18 lorries parked up on the road waiting to unload and blocking the traffic.

Anyone worried about going from there could always request to go from the stadium (all of 2-3 miles away) to eliminate the concern about getting caught up in the 3000 car tailback from this car booty?

By "anyone", I assume you actually mean "anyone who doesn't already have a ticket", given that everyone who actually has one at this stage would have applied weeks ago, long before the logistics of the Bursledon pick up were considered?

I'm on coach 9 btw, how apt. Surprised there haven't been more people on here sharing that kind of dull info. Also, the default guff now says 11am not 12:15 which is far more sensible if equally as unconfirmed and based on not yet having had an email.

I'm guessing a lot of people, like me, have still not received any info on coaches, times, whether they've actually received the ballot form at all etc etc

Not happy

+1

Of course, being so close to Crimbo, I don't really need to know wether £45 is gonna disappear from my bank account. The clubs communication really is outstanding. I phoned the club and asked them to categorically confirm I have a ticket, she said "if you applied as part of the first ballot, you do." I said "can you access my account and confirm it...?" "No."

I would expect everyone to have emails by Thurs 1st as thats the deadline they were working on from the outset.

"If you do not receive an email by Thursday 1st December you have been unsuccessful in your application."

Obviously there has been a change from the initial ballot as we know there are more tickets available, that information they couldnt hold back if they wanted to sell more. But it doesnt mean the person who's job it is to enter in all the data, allocate tickets, send emails etc is going to do it any quicker. I know I wouldnt if I have other jobs that need doing with a closer deadline.

Nothing to do with the ballot but standing at Cosham station waiting for a train to southampton, 2 lads on the opposite platform waiting for a train to portsmouth. They wait for their train to come in before giving w@nker signs and lobbing boiled sweets over the train at me. Such a pathetic class of people who live in that revolting town. Can't wait to humiliate them on their own turf. All I'm gonna think about for the next few weeks.

A similar thing happened to us at Fratton Station on the way to Withdean last season. Bunch o' mongs, about five 20 to 25 year old lads in the concourse, started quietly making snidey comments whilst we were getting a drink for the rest of the journey, then one of them "accidentally" blocked a doorway and pretended not to see my wife trying to walk through it, before doing w@nker signs as they were getting on their train with us still on the platform. How very grown up of them.

Having said that, we'd already hung a Saints scarf on the Fratton sign.

I know I am being unreasonably jumpy about the fact I've not seen anything on my account yet, but I can't help it, I was complacent about getting my FA Cup Final ticket and they ballsed that up, I've not trusted the Ticket Office since.

That seems a reasonable response, 28_F.

It is a bit embarassing that we haven't sold our full allocation - guess the combination of the bubble and the Televsing of the game makes it less attractive?

I bet they sell out when they come to us in April - if they are still in business!

And probably the fact that it is a minimum of £42 for an adult, people are being pushed around for 7-8 hours and it is a week before Christmas.

Yes but it hasnt opened up to fans on database - only fans who attended 4 or more away games plus STH's. Due to the travel arrangements and being on TV we are limiting ourselves to who we are selling tickets to.

It's our clubs retarded ticketing policy. It was the same for the Man U game last year.

I don't doubt that it's the whole "bubble" thing that's made selling out difficult. Who'd want to do that, you just can't impose that sort of thing on people. You can offer the service but to make it mandatory is just asking for the "f*ck right off" reply.Plus it's too expensive. 4 people going to Skatesville in a car cost what a fiver in all? So you make them all pay an extra 15/18£ for being herded about like sheep....nah they've got it wrong.

We've got 13k season ticket holders? Each of them could have bought two? We should have sold 3k easily by now. Hope the ticket office just opens it up once and for all.

and still no email.

I handed my application in before the Brighton game so they cannot blame the post!!

I've got no Email, and nothing has come out of my credit card. A few of my mates that applied have heard nothing either. I'm sure we'll all be fine.

i applied for 3 , have heard nothing, the longer it goes without hearing anything the shorter time i have to go and collect bus passes.

i assume that when we get on the Bus we get our seat tickets, hopefully me and 2 lads will be actually sat next to each other.

My suspicous mind is starting to believe that our "application" will go missing because 2 sons are 16 and 23 and PC Burrows will say they are not suitable to travel.

I would knock anyone for not going, the trip before has been a nightmare and this time is going to be even worst, leave at 11am home by 4pm

PATHETIC - that sums up our fanbase. Not selling out our Derby in my opinion makes us a joke.

It will be pretty difficult to defend our fanbase should we fail to sale this out as Skates will bring 3,200 to St. Mary's.

One of my mates was told by the ticket office that there were more applications for Bournemouth away last season then there has been for Skates away. I thought we didn't care about Bournemouth?

You can understand why though with the situation with the bubble.

But as has been pointed out above, the ballot hasn't been open to all those on the database and who is to say should tickets stioll be available the ballot will not be extended to those who have done fewer than 4 away games. It's also the case that season ticket holders did not mop up all available tickets on the two most recent occasions we've played there. If all of the above happens and we still don't sell out then put it down to the bubble.

Will they though as they will also be bubbled.

For me it's not an issue but for others it is. Others still are using it as a rather pathetic excuse.

all the media coverage about the violence before and after the derby games puts the average family fan off IMO, simply as that. We'll sell out, though this delay in gettin confirmation isn't exactly helpful as those that applied by post have no idea if their applications ever arrived and can't apply again should they need. I'm sure everyone will get one, but I'm not sure why it is taking so long to process.

It's all about the travel arrangements.

I live in Worthing so would have to drive to Southampton, to go back to Portsmouth, to go back to Southampton, to go back to Worthing. It's pathetic.

it certainly is a hassle, but in the end its less miles than driving up to Old Trafford though and you'd do that right?
