Portsmouth away tickets - ballot reopened!

International policing observers are converging on a major English football derby to see a new tactic deployed by Hampshire Constabulary in action.

Representatives from Denmark and Poland will be on hand to see the operation focusing on the pre-Christmas Portsmouth v Southampton match – when measures to ensure supporters are completely isolated from each other will be in place.

 They're loving their celebrity status aren't they! BBC Documentary crew with them at the last game at St Marys, international police contacts at this one.

Oh great, no doubt we can look forward to more TV crews filming events for Hants OB to show off to their new international friends.

And most of the attention is going to be on the away fans and how they dealt with the situation so expect most of those cameras to be pointing in our direction. More porridge for Saints fans then if you raise your arms above your waist.

Perhaps they'll even be keeping an ear out for any pikey or caravan dwelling jibes, that must be an offence right?

the inside out documentary before was hilarious, they asked one copper why the fans hated each other and she said "i don't think even they know to be honest, i mean some of them wear red, some of them wear blue, that's it really"

Our celebrity PC must be loving all this coverage he is getting after his crusade against homophobic hate crime against Brighton he now gets to tell the world how he brought peace to the south coast

Nothing in my online account but then again I wasn't the lead purchaser.

If the above is correct and the buses are leaving at 12:15 then I doubt we will get to the ground in time for kick off.

This might be part of the plan. Advertise it as a 1300 k/o, get all the the Pompey fans into the ground, then make delay the k/o until 1315.

Yeah, I can see the Beeb agreeing to that live on national TV.

"Hello 'future Superintendent' Burrows here, bit of a problem, 2 minutes to kick-off, 50 buses stuck on the damn Eastern Road. Any chance of delaying it for half hour?"

"No f*ck off" replied Mr Beeb, "OK then. no worries, see you around half time..."

Hope we get half the ticket money back if that's all we see. 12:15 for 1:00...not a f*cking chance.

Also as there are three seperate departure points (Burseldon, St Marys and Winchester) there's gonna have to be some co-ordination to get all three set of coaches together so that they are in one "bubble" and not three seperate ones going down the M27. If they aren't leaving St Mary's til 12:15 there's no way they will get there for kick off!

We'll be going from SMS, even with a Police escort clearing the way, there's going to be one big line of double deckers trundling along, by the time all have departed and got out of the city and queuing to join the M27, I reckon you're already looking at 20-25 minutes. Add 20 mins on the motorway and another 20 to get off at Farlington and onto the Eastern Road. Then once we're down the other end and parked up (how long is it going to take to park 50 buses?) and then queued to get into the sh*thole...well, it's not looking good is it?

On my online account, there are two tickets on there and two bus purchases on there. It says the bus leaves at 12.15. No idea if that will be the case or not, but if it is we'll never make kick off.

It may well be staggered departures and I just happen to be on the last bus. Who knows? I don't think the club or police really do and that's half the problem.

At least you'll get home first, or on the flip-side your bus may get the lion's share of missiles from the bridges on the return journey.

I was offered a ticket in with the home fans the other day, I would have been very tempted to take it had I not been away that weekend.

I'm not going and would've if not for compulsory travel with a load of idiots on a coach

Really glad that you are not generalising.

Fair point! I have anti coach bias as my experience is taht they are full of ***ts but sure 28% are decent sorts

I cant see Saints not taking at least 2000. Dont forget if we pick up points before the game and Skates lose a few they could be in a relegation spot and Saints still top. What Saints fan would miss the chance of a possible 3 points taken off the Skates which will help toward them being relegated, thats woth £100 at least

Whether the usual lot are idiots or not, surely the point is that for this match everyone has to go by coach, so the "idiots" would be the whole fan base.

On my online account its showing Bursledon bus 1 depart 12:15.

thinking more and more about not bothering to pick up bus pass, if buses do not leave until 12.15 there is no way we will all get through the 2 away turnstiles by kick off.

not missed a saints game at Fratton since mid 60's but this is just getting b*oody stupid

i do wonder about the whole lack of communication on this, no confirmation of how many tickets we have, there seems some ambiguity over the coach departure times, none of it really makes sense. 12.15 is clearly too late for a 1pm kick off, but i have a feeling that will be the time the very last coach leaves, it will be earlier assume all coaches leave in one hit and transport with a number of old bill cars at the front and back

12.15 depart can't be correct Mike, if it is they might not use the turnstiles just open the exit gates to let us in as there will not be anyone without a ticket, just a thought.

i think you could definitely be right about that, gates open , will be quite a sight for the skates looking at an empty stand only for it to be flooded by mobs of saints flowing off the coaches and fill it within minutes, will be weird for the first few saints in to be met with a full Fratton Park!

Thats a good point actually Pete, the police would prefer that as it means we would be 'out in the open' for as short a time as possible, also the earlier post says he's leaving BUrsledon at 12:15, if thats the last meet up point for the convoy we will be in the ground 30 mins later.

I bet the first fan in is wearing a red lycra gimp suit.

Yes, I thought that they would have wanted us to arrive as early as possible and certainly in the ground by noon with less Skates on the streets at that time.

If it’s correct then the coaches will pass a couple of pubs just as the Skates will be leaving them. It’s asking for trouble, just a shame that now the police tactic is let trouble happen, film it then nick people for it a week later.

I don't think that would be very likely, turnstiles are there for a reason. Letting the plod just open the gates doesn't have a good track record.

Its what I've been thinking all along. How often do you get 3,000 fans all turning up at the turnstiles at exactly the same time? Especially at a crumbling old s**t hole like Fratton. I reckon this must be the biggest ever bubble trip in the history of bubble trips? Only thing is, as pointed out, surely the police/stewards etc will want to pad down everyone going through as a minimum? Maybe they plan to do that when we're getting on the coaches, to save the time of us being out in the open at Pompey?

Either way, 12.15 departure is far too late, even with everything running smoothly. IF this is the case, it is another good example of why a decent fan representative relationship with the club would be useful, to question and feedback on stuff like this.

Flash point going in and out could be where the dredgers land the gravel going down Eastern Road, they were waiting up there the year we lost 1-0 and they smashed up their own town.

There's always the possibility we go a different route. The coaches from Fratton for the cup-tie came past the Chapel End of the ground first, which was hardly to be expected.

Just shown up on my online account. 12.15 bus depart from winchester as well. No email yet

If we miss the kick off i will taking my claim with the pigs to small claims to recoup what i'm owed

Does it state what time you have to "check in" for departure? 12.15 from Winchester is really cutting it fine even though police outriders and logistical measures should mean a clear run.
