dune Posted 24 November, 2011 Posted 24 November, 2011 We have to sell out I hope we don't because then all attention will be drawn to PC burrows and his decisions. Not only has he made it a bubble game, he has stopped bus tickets being posted out so I can't go.

Police are supposed to try and prevent crime, not incite it and then get all smug that they managed to record some.
LGTL Posted 24 November, 2011 Posted 24 November, 2011 It was obvious we wouldn't. Anyone who thought we would sell out isn't very bright. It was more a condemnation of our fan base running scared, rather than being surprised by it. Granted, Mr Burrows hasn't helped one bit either.
dune Posted 24 November, 2011 Posted 24 November, 2011 lol @ mongs believing 8000 had applied. It was said at the beginning this if you applied you WOULD get a ticket. Even bigger lol at the mong who said I was taking the p/ss when I said it was more like 800. Note how the club haven't said how many have been sold and what the allocation is. Why is this? Is this another directive from the police in their efforts to stop people from going.
dune Posted 24 November, 2011 Posted 24 November, 2011 Still disgusted at the way they handled the FA cup game. Police are supposed to try and prevent crime, not incite it and then get all smug that they managed to record some. Which is why I hope it doesn't sell out. Burrows will be relishing the accolades from this, but if it doesn't sell out it will raise questions. I feel absolutely cheated by the decision to ban posting out tickets and the last thing I want to see is him being all smug about his achievements after the game.
Saint_Jonny Posted 24 November, 2011 Posted 24 November, 2011 Just sent off a ballot form. God special delivery is expensive, £5.50 to post a ****ing letter. Been to 5 away games so far this season, will that be enough? Will they even open my letter? Who knows.

Saint_Jonny Posted 24 November, 2011 Posted 24 November, 2011 I may be wrong, but I thought you had to hand it in at the ticket office in person... Says on the ballot form if you post it they "recommend special delivery". I'm feeling desperate so I followed that advice! I am such a tool.
um pahars Posted 24 November, 2011 Posted 24 November, 2011 Not surprised at all that it hasn't sold out under this ballot (said so from day one that it wouldn't sell out in this first round). Not even sure it will sell out under the current restrictions. I'm certainly not jumping through all these hoops and agree to be treated like cattle. Someone needs to contest these draconian restrictions.
skintsaint Posted 24 November, 2011 Posted 24 November, 2011 hmm still hoping of grabbing a ticket somehow. Extra tickets mean more chance I guess...
Littlelat17 Posted 24 November, 2011 Posted 24 November, 2011 Applied with 4 away games, so take it i have one, anyone know when we can pick up our Coach tickets? Im likely to be able to get to the Hull game next week early, so hoping Ill be able to do it then rather than the Blackpool game when Im gonna be in a hurry.
Monk Posted 24 November, 2011 Posted 24 November, 2011 how many tickets do we have??? Want to know how many of us will be there!
Saint_Jonny Posted 24 November, 2011 Posted 24 November, 2011 how many tickets do we have??? Want to know how many of us will be there! 3200 I believe?
stevegrant Posted 24 November, 2011 Posted 24 November, 2011 3200 I believe? Brighton had 3050, I'd expect we've got similar, although wouldn't be surprised if they put some netting over the last few seats on the two end blocks.
OurClaus Posted 24 November, 2011 Posted 24 November, 2011 So im one of these muppets who didnt think i had a chance of getting a ticket in the first ballot but im now going to attempt to get one 2nd time around. Just to clarify - If im a season ticket holder but i haven't been to any away games this season, will i get priority over a non season ticket holder who has been to 4 away games?

Simple solution, get a mate who has already been allocated a ticket to now get you the extra one they are allowed and then they can also collect the travel voucher as the ticket is in your name, saving you a journey to Soton. Assumes you have mates of course.
OurClaus Posted 24 November, 2011 Posted 24 November, 2011 No - it's open to both first come, first served. excellent cheers for clearing that up - I better get myself down the stadium!
The9 Posted 24 November, 2011 Posted 24 November, 2011 (edited) So im one of these muppets who didnt think i had a chance of getting a ticket in the first ballot but im now going to attempt to get one 2nd time around. Just to clarify - If im a season ticket holder but i haven't been to any away games this season, will i get priority over a non season ticket holder who has been to 4 away games? "Those who have already been successful on application will be allowed to apply for one additional ticket, whilst we're also extending the offer of one seat to non-season ticket holders who have attended four or more away games from this season, which can include the trip to Doncaster Rovers on 3rd December." There isn't any more information than that. In fact the only thing I think you can assume that they haven't specifically said, is that ST holders who didn't apply the first time but do want to go are still able to apply as well as the two groups mentioned above. It's a ballot, therefore there is no "priority", and the fact that they're using the term "ballot" suggests to me that it ISN'T "first come, first served", but that they'll draw everyone's application out after the closing date. Hopkins Posted 24 November, 2011 Posted 24 November, 2011 What sort of info should be in this application then? ST Numbers, Card number, start/expiry date? ... Cheers.
stevegrant Posted 24 November, 2011 Posted 24 November, 2011 What sort of info should be in this application then? ST Numbers, Card number, start/expiry date? ... Cheers. There's a form on the OS, print it off and fill it in.

This Charming Man Posted 24 November, 2011 Posted 24 November, 2011 They had an article on the Skate website a while ago confirming we have the entire end behind the goal (around 3,000 odd). Due to the way they've shut off that entire end of the stadium outside to Skates, there was no other option than to give us the whole end.
rshephard3 Posted 24 November, 2011 Posted 24 November, 2011 What sort of info should be in this application then? ST Numbers, Card number, start/expiry date? ... Cheers. Link to it in the OS article. Everything you said. Plus details of window of time for sending etc

I was told 2500 by the ticket office a while back. Whether this is right or not I cannot say as for some reason it's a secret. I wonder who has instructed the secrecy and why?

It may well be 3000, but if only 2500 are sold I reckon they'll put some netting in or keep some seats vacant and pretend it's a sell out. Burrows won't be wanting any stories of unsold seats casting a shadow over the pinnacle of his career.

If it sells out the whole thing will be smugly proclaimed a resounding success.

Burrows won't be wanting any stories of unsold seats casting a shadow over the pinnacle of his career. Is the ideal scenario for Eliott Ness a trouble free game, or a small pocket of minor trouble whereby he gets to avoid the bubble match being viewed as a faliure but still gets to nick and bang up a dozen or so people ensuring mass headlines as well? I think that's what he'd like. In fact i bet he is praying for it. More pubility for him with grand statements of how he wont stand for this sort of behaviour.

They certainly won't need netting for segregation if we've got the entire end, it'd be pointless with an open corner ground. All they've gotta do is cram a bunch of stewards and coppers in each corner and there's no way for each set of fans to get at each other.

Hopkins Posted 24 November, 2011 Posted 24 November, 2011 Cheers for pointing out the link on the OS. Looking at the form, if I want 3 tickets, do I fill out one form with 3 names and 3 ST Numbers on it, or do I fill out 3 different forms and put them all together in one envelope. The problem with that being, I only want to use one card to pay for it all.

You must've been there about 7 years. Despite that you still can't fill an application form out...
dune Posted 24 November, 2011 Posted 24 November, 2011 It will sell out now people know they can get extra tickets. You're cutting off your nose to spite your face. Like I say, how will you know if it sells out? What is the allocation? How many tickets have been sold so far? I think that however many are sold it will be called a sellout so the police can claim a resounding success and the club can keep the money making travel arrangements/save on policing costs. Explain why else the allocation is such a secret.

If you trawl around the pompey OS for a bit and find the article about the game from a few weeks back I'm sure I remember seeing that we had been sent 3,200 tickets. Anyway you will be able to see pretty clearly on the tellybox if its sold out or not.

I fully expect "aditional segregation" to'be used to justify empty seats at the end of the stands.

No. If you want 3 tickets you fill out 12 forms with each persons name on 7 of the forms each, except for the last person who you only need to put down twice. You also need to post each form seperately and send by courier and you can only pay for the ticket with a card of someone who isn't in the name of the person on the application or related to them at all. Glad to help.

jam Posted 24 November, 2011 Posted 24 November, 2011 Everyone who has applied has one and they've even extended the ballot. I can't even start to describe how embarrassing it would be if we didn't sell this out. Why? Personally I'd will never go to a bubble match, even if it was against Barcelona, let alone the fish fiddlers. Maybe I'm not alone in that...
dune Posted 24 November, 2011 Posted 24 November, 2011 Doesn't alter the fact you're acting a martyr when you don't even need to travel to Soton to collect travel tickets. I do though, because I don't know any ST holders. My cousin isn't a st holder and don't know if he's even been to a home game this season (i haven't). I could ask him to driver in from Winch to get me a ticket, but it'd be a ******* cheek on my part.
Jack Posted 24 November, 2011 Posted 24 November, 2011 Why? Personally I'd will never go to a bubble match, even if it was against Barcelona, let alone the fish fiddlers. Maybe I'm not alone in that... So you'll never see your team do a job on their most hated rivals, just because you were too stubborn to put a bit of extra effort in. Sad really. I'm just glad I'll be saying I was there when we did a job on them, and loved it despite the old bill doing their best to ruin our day.

It hink people are using the bubble as a bit of an excuse. All this "i cant be bothered to have the old bill herding me around like cattle". Obviously they have not previously travelled the last couple of times as it was just an unofficial bubble. What with waiting about at Southampton Central like refugees for hours on end, then the train just stopping mid route and everyone getting in after kick off after a crawling escort. People make out that if it was not for the bubble they would certainly get a ticket and then skip to fratton park hand in hand singing kum-by-ya.
skintsaint Posted 24 November, 2011 Posted 24 November, 2011 I'd probably go if I knew a ST holder, but all my family down there aren't. Same boat as you mate...its a bugger as at the game this Tues so could pick the ticket inc the travel one then I think if I read it all correctly.

I would agree that the way supporters were treated in the unofficial bubbles was also terrible. Missing large parts of the games was ridiculous. But that doesn't justify just accepting being herded around this time. Last time you had the excuse that you didn't know that was going to happen, whereas there can be no doubt what you're signing up for.

Not only have you got to go in person to collect your bus voucher, you are then not considered trustworthy enough to be given your match ticket until you are on the bus. Also to top it all, theres no alcohol on sale to away fans.Total overkill by the police. If i was going,i would have caught the train, then hopefully found somewhere to have a beer, then gone to the match, all without any bother. Instead i will spend my money watching it in town without any hassle.
Huffton Posted 24 November, 2011 Posted 24 November, 2011 Also to top it all, theres no alcohol on sale to away fans. This doesn't bother me at all, apart from the price of the match ticket I will not be spending a single penny in that rotting cesspit of a town
