Portsmouth away tickets - ballot reopened!

Good news for everyone who applied.

Don't see it as embarrassing at all, i'm sure the remaining tickets will sell.

it does show up some of the people trying to compare us to west ham on a recent support when it comes to levels of support. it is again interesting that the official site article still makes no reference to how many tickets we have actually been allocated, how many we have actually sold, and how many remain

Oh i agree that we are absolutely nowhere near West Ham in terms of away support, but i don't think we can judge this as poor away support.

It is merely the "Bubble" element of the trip, our away support has surprised me at how good it has been this year.

We'll def sell out. To be fair if you look at our season ticket holders, when you take away those that are older than 55 (half the Kingsland), those under 14/15 (quite a few in the Chapel), it's those that would be put off this sort of trip. At least they’re reselling the rest, plenty of non-season ticket holders will be after one. Have they actually confirmed what our allocation is?

Get the **** in, that means i've got one for the ****hole. Ghosts of the last time we were there to be laid to bed i hope. Oh and i don't care if people don't have the bottle, if they don't they shouldn't be there in the first place.

Now just got to work out how to smuggle drink on ;)

I've just read the article online, as a sucessful aplicant I am now entitled to purchase an additional ticket.

It is not clear from the article whether there are any restrictions on those additional tickets. Can I buy one for a friend that is not a ST holder and has only done several homes and only one away?

So when the thousands were singing "we're coming for you", what they actually meant is they are going to the walkabout, Southampton High Street to throw carling over eachother and sing about how much they hate the skates.

Haha, yup. Well, maybe not Shirley High Street but i'll be somewhere in town singing about the skates throwing beer everywhere. I have no intentions of forking out that much money to be treated like a slave for a day by the old bill. I'm just gunna have a great day in town with my mates (8 of us who are all ST holders by the way) hopefully watching us **** all over them.

I was really looking forward to this game in pre-season, but the old bill have persuaded me that it's just not worth the hassle.

Surely if we were to "p!ss all over them" then it would all be worth the hassle. If we beat them, no one will look back on the day and say "I was there when we beat the skates away, but i wish i had not gone because i had to sit on a bus for a couple of hours"

I know its an inconvenience what the old bill have done but surely getting to wembley on a Sunday was an incovenience and 50,000 of us managed that. And to me this skate game is far more important.

strange that those people that have applied and got a ticket get priority over someone that has been to 3 aways. Anyone got an email confirmation yet as can't check my bank balance.

I think very few actually have the email but the OS story suggests that everyone that applied has got one (unless the police don't want you to)

Spot on fella. Nail on head. I cant see how anyone would rather watch this in a pub than be at the actual game themselves. Especially this one when we owe them one big time.

I think a lot of STHs wouldn't have bothered applying if they had zero or 1 away games on their customer number. Not surprised it didn't sell out. I'm hoping there are not too many left and they'll get enough ballot applications to cover the remaining tickets.

I was thinking it would be easier to watch it in the pub, but could I really miss an opportunity to see us beat the skates at fratton for the first time in my generation? Not a chance.

I totally hear what you're saying, and in a way i agree with you about the first paragraph. However, that isn't strictly my reasons for not going. It's the fact that they are forcing us to jump through hoops, and then pay over the odds to do so. I desperately want saints to win, and if they do i will have an unbelievable day wherever i am. I admit it would be 10 times better if i was there in person, but the prospect of spending the day sober, being pushed around by police, sat on a double decker bus for hours and of course, the chance that they might beat us, is definitely enough to put me off when i can save all the time and money and watch it in the pub.

The OS says that nobody has got confirmation yet - the club will be writing shortly.

Anyone who claims otherwise is bullsh*tting.

it is interesting they are making non-season ticket holders prove they have been to 4 aways, but season ticket holders can get an extra ticket each for anybody, regardless of how many games they have done, i would say those who want one just get your season ticket holder mates who are already going to get another one for you.

with no indication of how many we have sold i have a feeling there are still quite a few left

Agreed. Season's ticket holders have had their chance. It should have been opened up solely to non STH's at this point and which would have reached more of those that have done 4 away games or alternatively have been able to offer to people who have done fewer away games.

As for not selling out to STH, that's exactly what happened last time we played down there so nothing new. As to the propspect of not selling out at all, that's never going to happen. I'm desperate to go having been subjected to the torture of the last two visits there but won't be going because I've only done two aways so far and I think there are plenty of people like me that will be desperately disappointed to have missed out.

Get in that means I have my ticket I am so looking forward to this game I have been day dreaming of Lambo netting the winner in front of the Saints fans & going mental.

I am sure it will sell out we took 4000 + to Reading ffs & 3000 + made it to Coventry for the last 3 seasons I have been impressed by our away attendance. Whilst I can understand some people not wanting to go there will be plenty who do I also think a fair few didnt apply as they didnt think they would get a ticket no doubt they will now do so.

It'll certainly have a hollow ring to it the next time it booms out "we're coming for you.......well, if me mum would let me".

Why do we get so much bullsh*t from people?

I wonder how many STHs applied with only one or two away games?

Anyone on here chance it? Or did you not bother assuming you had no chance of being successful?

Me and my brother both bought a ticket for Bristol City and then handed in our ballot forms on the off chance. Absolutely made up. It's gonna be a good christmas.

Not necessarily - I know lots of lads with STHs who are bang up for it but didnt apply because they were led to think they would not be successful with only one or two away games to their name.

Well I hope that they don't sell out with this ballot either, as I only have two 'aways' at present and really want a Pompey ticket. I want to banish the memory of that dire performance in the 1-4 and then having to stand in the ground whilst they played f**king Amarillo over and over and over again! I want to be able to stand shoulder to shoulder with the Saints family that will be there as we all as one sing our hearts out for the lads and when we win, to then shove it back down the throats of the fish f**kers. What a day that will be!

I know a few like that. How much effort would it have really been to hand in their app, just in case they mught have been successful? If it was me I'd have handed it in regardless, nothing to lose.

The club should of not mentioned how many aways or how they intended doing it until forms were in... I know loads who were like I Wont get a ticket etc etc

Now had they said they were going to do a ballot... Please apply in writing to stand a chance more would of applied and if they didn't it saved the club time on how they intended doing it

That's me!! Cant believe I was so stupid to not apply. Need to keep everything crossed now for 2nd ballot but its making me think most st's that apply for the 2nd ballot will get in.. F-ing hope so anyhow.

"We" - Southampton Football Club and a section of its associated supporters, though not necessarily the ones singing this song

"'re" - contraction of the word "are"

"Coming for you" :

1. proceeding in a temporal fashion, no physical or geographical measurements being considered, towards an implied fixture in the near future between the clubs of Portsmouth and Southampton, with the intention of securing the three points in said fixture.

2. (when sung prior to the teams being in the same division) intending on becoming promoted into the same division and then developing a team capable of restoring the status quo, viz. Saints above Pompey.

3. Literal : Every single person singing this song at this time is intending on travelling to Portsmouth on December 18th in order to collect Portsmouth Football Club and deliver it to an unspecified location.

© Mr Logic, 2011

I think I know which of those 3 explanations is most accurate.

And why yes, I will also be attending, thanks for asking.
