How is Barnes not booked for barging the Ref?

I wondered the same after watching the highlights saturday night. And just how many penalty appeals can one game have?!?!

Same here, saw it on saturday and thought it was odd then. And while Walton had a terrible game, I hate that (some of) the brighton fans are all over NSC calling him a cheat, as if he was bias for us the whole 90, when in fact he had a mare throughout. Completely ignoring the fact that we should have had two penalties by that stage anyway. And they say that the referee ruined the match as a competetive spectacle (I think it was their inability to string an attack together that did that) by awarding a pen and sending a man off, as if Taricco had been sent off for a last ditch challenge istead of being a mardy **** and getting himself stupidly sent off (which i would be more annoyed with).

But no, they focus on the fact that the game should be replayed behind close doors, and that saints go down looking for penalties (protip: if you don't foul in the box every 5 minutes, you won't get so many penalty appeals against you) and grizzling that the BBC didn't show the shot they had 'Cleared off the line'. **** me , if they think that's where the line is, no wonder they can't see a foul in the area (not talking 'bout the 2nd and 3rd goals, btw).

Don't let people on that forum get to you. I used to read it when we were in League One but it really is full of completely clueless morons, so don't bother now.

I asked myself the same question, after the third goal. Most people seem to agree that the first penalty was unjust, but what about the TWO the ref. missed in the first half?

I watched the game on-line and the replays showed that both Lambert and Guly were both fouled in the box ... but the ref. ignored both.

The first penalty obviously cleared his conscience, but there were at least THREE other incidents that might have been given but were ignored:

at the end of the day we scored one goal (non penalty) and Brighton none....despite Poyets complaints.

Some thoughts.

The commentator was ace. "Normal service resumes". "Brighton are being buried along the South Coast".

Loved Nige's smug super-villain pose when our first penalty went in. That man needs a Persian cat and an underground dugout.

Just goes to show what a dirty team Brighton are, and although they were hard done by on that specific incident, they can't really have too many complaints.

Kudos to the players for maintaining discipline when the other team is that filthy. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if our players going down easily wasn't a deliberate tactic employed after half-time. And why not?
