Thoughts, ladies and gentlemen? Try to avoid saying 'Smoke on the Water' as a default choice.

For me, either Black Night or Stormbringer.

Was reminded of them by the ads for their tour with an orchestra (I won't be going, personally) and gave them a listen. What a great band, but to me Deep Purple aren't Deep Purple without Blackmore.

Highway Star or Child In Time.

Ditto Ditto .... but have to be the live versions from Made In Japan.

Back in the day, whenever Black Night was played at party's a group of us would sing the whole teams names at the end of each guitar riff ...

Da Dada Da dada da dada da .... Ian Turner , Da Dada Da dada da dada da .... Peter rodrigues etc etc .... being drunk helped !!!

Space Truckin, closely followed by Child in Time. Remember seeing them in Feb 1973 at Bournemouth Winter Gardens with Nazareth as the support band. Lets just say that was one loud gig!
