Colinjb Posted 19 November, 2011 Share Posted 19 November, 2011 Bmx... Had one, no idea of the model, and the radio controlled car was a "Tyco Wild Thing." It didn't survive a head on meeting with a Passat, RIP.

Before that I had a blue Raleigh Boxer, but the mongoose was the the ultimate in cool especially with stunt nuts and a coke can wedged in the back tyre. Mine was a Marui Ninja (relatively unusual), most were Tamiya's (Grasshopper, Fox, etc). The grasshopper was the cheapest but nippy. Beatties was the place to shop. A steering box was a must or when the battery got low you lost the steering and probably lost the car under a car.

gaz Posted 19 November, 2011 Share Posted 19 November, 2011 Raleigh Chrome Burner Mk1 (this very one!): And a Tamiya TL01 with the Calsonic Skyline GTR R33 body (this is the same box, the car is long gone now): Still racing in RC, 15 years later. Tamiya have re-relased a lot of older buggies so you can still buy brand new Hornets, Hot Shots, Brats, Frogs etc.

PaulSaint Posted 20 November, 2011 Share Posted 20 November, 2011 I sold everything I owned including my VIC 20 and 200 games for a Diamond Back Viper. It looked the mutts nuts but weighed about the same as a lorry.
The Kraken Posted 20 November, 2011 Share Posted 20 November, 2011 I had one of these: Loved that bike, until it got nicked. And instead of replacing it like for like, my mum and dad got me an Asda own brand BMX. Happy, I was not.

Petersfield Saint Posted 21 November, 2011 Share Posted 21 November, 2011 Raleigh Tuff Burner: I had loads of Tamiya R/C cars during the '80s as my Dad used to run a model shop: Holiday Buggy, Grasshopper, Porsche 956 & 959, Hotshot etc. but Sand Scorcher was the first (and possibly best): Dune - I had a mate who had a Marui Ninja; must be pretty rare nowadays
