Lighthouse Posted 19 November, 2011 Posted 19 November, 2011 I thought Rickie's wide effort was going in. In the Northam, so didn't have the best perspective on it, but it seemed like the whole stand thought it was in. On the other hand, I was dreading him having to retake the second penalty. Was a bit odd that. the 'keeper clearly wasn't ready, but the ref blew the whistle anyway. Great retake though.
bpsaint Posted 19 November, 2011 Posted 19 November, 2011 I was already jumping in the air once it had passed Harper, gutted it went wide.

As for the second pen, thought it was going over for a sec!

Huffton Posted 19 November, 2011 Posted 19 November, 2011 The keeper saved it, actually it was a bloody good save too. Unfortunately the miopic twins both missed it and gave the goal kick.

I haven't actually seen the penalty, but surely if the whistle has gone and the keeper isn't ready, that's the keepers own stupid fault?
Nexstar Posted 19 November, 2011 Posted 19 November, 2011 I haven't actually seen the penalty, but surely if the whistle has gone and the keeper isn't ready, that's the keepers own stupid fault? Not really fair though, is it?
Jimmy_D Posted 19 November, 2011 Posted 19 November, 2011 The shot WAS going in. I had a perfect view in line with the path of the ball in the Chapel/Kingsland corner and the keeper tipped it round. How a goal kick was given....
Lighthouse Posted 19 November, 2011 Author Posted 19 November, 2011 I haven't actually seen the penalty, but surely if the whistle has gone and the keeper isn't ready, that's the keepers own stupid fault? That was my initial thought too, but as Nextar said it's hardly fair on the 'keeper who had barely turned around when Rickie took it.
team-saint Posted 19 November, 2011 Posted 19 November, 2011 The linesman clearly gave a corner and then changed his decision. Was a very clear save.
saints-cris Posted 19 November, 2011 Posted 19 November, 2011 I was in Itchen corner and could see it a save. Meh
Wurzel Posted 19 November, 2011 Posted 19 November, 2011 Watching online it sounds like the attempt where my feed froze with the ball about 4 yards from the goal line. Sod you lot and your split seconds it took me 3 or 4 minutes to tealise we hadn't scored
Saint_clark Posted 19 November, 2011 Posted 19 November, 2011 Explains why Rickie was p*ssing himself with laughter afterwards if it was a save.
for_heaven's_Saint Posted 19 November, 2011 Posted 19 November, 2011 Loved the penalty retake when Harper was trying to put Rickie off pointing to the bottom right so Rickie smashed it in top left.

paulwantsapint Posted 20 November, 2011 Posted 20 November, 2011 The 2nd pen looked like doddsey's old pen style hit into the roof of the net Had a pen been given after Barney came would RL have let LB take it?
