Colinjb Posted 19 November, 2011 Share Posted 19 November, 2011 Having seen it on tele here in Malta... no f@@king way was it a penalty. Far outside the box, yet I couldn't care less!!!
exit2 Posted 19 November, 2011 Share Posted 19 November, 2011 Was never a pen, but hey ho was about 2 ft outside the box. I can see why their player was going mad!
Mowgli Posted 19 November, 2011 Share Posted 19 November, 2011 Feet were outside the box but will need to look at it closer on the TV to comment. Actually, it WAS a penalty because the ref said so - the same as he said the blatent tackles earlier (and later) were not penalties.

bpsaint Posted 19 November, 2011 Share Posted 19 November, 2011 Could see from the Northam it was outside the box but thankfully for us the ref though otherwise. Fair cop IMO, as others have said the 2 pens we got made up for the blatant ones we didn't.

VectisSaint Posted 19 November, 2011 Share Posted 19 November, 2011 Albion fans are crying like girls that it was outside the box.Think they probably have a point. Said it was at the time, Rickie sort of hinted he thought it was as well on Solent. Bet the Brighton boys are not saying much about the 3 other good pen shouts that weren't given though. What goes around comes around. L

saints-cris Posted 19 November, 2011 Share Posted 19 November, 2011 Ok, hands up. Anyone care that it was dodgy as hell? Not in the slightest to be honest. Tarrico is the real muppett though. The game was over when they went down to 10, and he, with the most experience on the pitch should have known better.
Saint_clark Posted 19 November, 2011 Share Posted 19 November, 2011 It was clearly outside the box from any angle, but we should have had another 3 by then anyway.
bender Posted 19 November, 2011 Author Share Posted 19 November, 2011 Ref was making up for the blatant one he ignored 5 minutes earlier imho. you mean the Hammond one. Was a dive and yellow card deservedly. Was annoyed he didnt just round the keeper and score. However there was also one after out first pen where Lambo was deffo barged off the ball as he was about to head in.
Lighthouse Posted 19 November, 2011 Share Posted 19 November, 2011 I saw the lino waving for a foul, but looked away before I saw the flag go accross his chest. I saw the ref give the pen and thought they were arguing about whether or not it was in the box. They say penalty decisions will even out over the course of a match, but I think with this one they evened out over the course of one game. We had at least one shout denied which was better than the first pen. Even if they were all wrong. 1-0 to the Dagenham, so STFU moaning Brighton. doddisalegend Posted 19 November, 2011 Share Posted 19 November, 2011 Was a foul but not a peno. Thought we were going to take a free kick then watched Lambert stick the ball down on the peno spot which left me scratching my head. Still I wasn't to upset having watched Deno get booked for what seemed like a clear peno to me.
Macey_J2 Posted 19 November, 2011 Share Posted 19 November, 2011 It clearly wasnt a penalty, but in the first half alone tv replays showed that we should have had two clear cut pens. Opposition like to ignore inconvienient facts

1976_Child Posted 19 November, 2011 Share Posted 19 November, 2011 It was outside the box. I will pay every seagull in the country £100 each if there is photo footage showing it was inside the box. I am that confident that it was a monumental ****up by the Kingsland lino. Never in a billion years was that a pen. Chappie who was sent off was not, however, red-carded for the foul. It was chit-chat. But it weren't a Pen. No feking way. That said, we played them off the park and we were different class. And all the Albion Boys n Girls I enjoyed the company of on the way home would not disagree.. We Won. We are Top Of The League.
teamsaint Posted 19 November, 2011 Share Posted 19 November, 2011 If the pen was outside the box, (looked inside from block 2 !!!!) then albion were unlucky. However, any result other than a Saints win would have been a rank injustice. They had NO efforts on target, and looked toothless even in a first half where they knocked the ball around pretty well. Channon's Sideburns Posted 19 November, 2011 Share Posted 19 November, 2011 I was in the Chapel and both feet (and players) were outside the box. However, Walton missed at least three others in the second half. Sorry - the fooker bottled it. Left all the decisions to the linos - gutless ref. I said that to my dad when he ran towards us in the warm up. Tosser.
Saints foreva Posted 19 November, 2011 Share Posted 19 November, 2011 Wasn't a penalty but then again neither was Murray's dive last season at St. Mary's. Albion fans celebrated that decision like they won the cup, only for KD to save it.

Jimmy_D Posted 19 November, 2011 Share Posted 19 November, 2011 Was well outside the box, but the ref had a shocker... one of the few games where the ref managed to get both sets of fans hopping mad. Lazlo78 Posted 19 November, 2011 Share Posted 19 November, 2011 (edited) Which was the worse decision - our (non-) pen or Blackburn's 2nd goal @ Wigan ? Nothing wrong with Blackburn's goal - by know that trick should be known by everyone in professional football, so tough luck on Wigan that they let themselves be fooled... Edit: ok, it seems the highlights I've been seeing didn't show the problem in this case: that Yakubu didn't touch the ball and make it spin at least one full round before leaving it for Pedersen - if that is the case, the goal should not have stood... 1976_Child Posted 20 November, 2011 Share Posted 20 November, 2011 Just seen it on TV. Not a flying feking chance was that a Pen. (that ref won't work again above conference level.....) Still, we beat them Ghey Boys proper and proud.

I hope you just watched the replays on tv and realised how wrong you were....and have the balls to admit it. Interesting they didn't bother to show the blatant foul on Llalana in the box - 2 handed shove on his chest while he was dribbling the ball in the box, or the penalty before it was re-taken. How I wish this were true, however - whilst today was the worst refereeing performance i've seen - he was also responsible for the second worst, two seasons ago at home to Leeds. And one week later I saw him on MOTD.

Plumstead_Saint Posted 20 November, 2011 Share Posted 20 November, 2011 TBF the two penalties given were iffy. Looked like both were given to make up for ones that should have been, shortly before. Still, we beat them Ghey Boys proper and proud. Agreed. But the incident after that, where Lambert was ungraciously shoved off the ball by the same guy who was guilty of pulling his shirt in the first half, was the most blatant example of a foul you will ever see. david in sweden Posted 20 November, 2011 Share Posted 20 November, 2011 Ref was making up for the blatant one he ignored 5 minutes earlier imho. Agreed Scotty, I watched the game on-line and saw replays. We had two very good shouts in the first half that the ref. ignored (on Lambert and Guly). If the ref. thought he was " righting a wrong" by giving the Fonte pen., he had little choice with the second when Calderon clipped Lambert's heels. I think I could have written up Poyet's moaning complaints before the kick-off. He's almost as bad as Ferguson & Son.
musesaint Posted 20 November, 2011 Share Posted 20 November, 2011 (edited) Don't know why people are surprised That ref is always sh**tee ... but in equal measures of sh**tee for both sides Our first Pen was miles outside the box... but we had two if not three other cast iron appeals turned down ... so justice was done overall What the FF UK was the ref doing on our second penalty? He clearly blew the whistle... Lambo scored.... then he made him take it again coz the keeper supposedly wasn't ready ... utter shambles Edited 20 November, 2011 by musesaint ?
