Why are people excited about a lorry with Coca Cola on the side? There must be a point here somewhere that I'm missing. Someone I used to work with was wetting her knickers about it this morning saying she was going to take her son to see it. He's not even 1 yet. Get a grip woman.

agree but then i would have to find a new job.

Knowing Tesco they are probably monitoring all your online movements and you'll be looking for another job tomorrow for that remark anyway!

I saw it in ASDA as well, saw the crowd, went over to have a look.

There was a lot of people and a red lorry with Coca Cola written on the side.

I was expecting the bus to try and jump 20 cars or something, but it didn't do anything.

Why does this deserve a thread by itself?

I saw a Mcdonalds lorry on the motorway today but didn't feel the need to take a picture of it (well I didn't, I'm in Asia, but you get my point).

Seriously, what's this about?

People with an IQ akin to Keith Chegwin's getting sucked in by the ever increasing commercialisation and Americanisation of Christmas?

Still, at least the chaps in the Coca Cola marketing department will be getting a nice Christmas bonus on the back of such public gullibility....

Merry Christmas one and all...bah...

That Lorry, in the snow, with a nice backdrop, would probably look quite good,.

In a car park in a wet Hedge End, not so good.

This, it came to Plymouth the other day and they had to go early because so many people came and the police got involved, madness!

Each to their own obviously, however...

I do think its a shame that people will go out of their way to see a coke lorry just becuase it was used in christmas adverts. Feeling Christmassy shouldn't be about Multi-national advertising.

That said am I correct in thinking that Father christmas was never depicted in in a red and white outfit until Coke's marketing team got hold of him?

People try to make money out of all of us everyday, usually through lies, manipulation etc. Coke have somehow made themselves Christmassy over the years largely on the basis of being santa coloured. But at least they're pretty clearly they're just selling a drink. I can't imagine anyone ever bought a can of coke and felt like they'd been suckered in and lost all their money for something that didn't live up to expectation.

I hate marketing and advertising, but like Coke. The drink that is. I don't care if it's Pepsi or other though. Fascinating branding case though that it can become that strong for what is essentially fizzy water with caramel.

I hate Coke.....is it politically correct to hate Coke and say so nowadays?

I think you're right - I think 'he' used to be dressed in green.
