Nadia Sllim Posted 15 November, 2011 Posted 15 November, 2011 Joining in January. Ex Scunny so has been on NA bus before. Good signing to ensure we keep in the top 2? Seems like a bit of a play-off specialist.
Ivan Katalinic's 'tache Posted 15 November, 2011 Posted 15 November, 2011 Maybe Chappers is being regarded as a wide man now & Nige still wants 4 to pick from in the middle? Wouldn't be a long term signing as he's 30+. Maybe it's a typo & the author meant to write George Boyd!!

david in sweden Posted 15 November, 2011 Posted 15 November, 2011 YES, we have good midfield options, but they are all " fairly young-ish" and getting someone with some experience under his belt may not be such a bad thing. It has certainly worked in the past....Jimmy Gabriel, Alan Ball, Jimmy Case, Chris Marsden all very experienced players came into similar team set-ups and really made a difference. May not be as daft as it sounds at first...might think about that one.
derry Posted 15 November, 2011 Posted 15 November, 2011 Terrific player at our level and would give us another alternative as he is unlike the other three central midfielders being very left sided.
supersonic Posted 15 November, 2011 Posted 15 November, 2011 Currently at peterborough? Or am I thinking of the wrong McCann?
derry Posted 15 November, 2011 Posted 15 November, 2011 Currently at peterborough? Or am I thinking of the wrong McCann? Yes. Peterborough skipper and must be nearly their top scorer. With Nigel Adkins at Scun- thorpe
dronskisaint Posted 15 November, 2011 Posted 15 November, 2011 Good player but we have a few of those already in his position...younger too.
Saint Garrett Posted 15 November, 2011 Posted 15 November, 2011 I mentioned this to their chairman on Twitter not expecting a response but actually got 1 ! Me: Heard Grant McCann linked with Southampton? 'DMAC': As was CMS who they offered 600k for over 3 years...Can't see any truth in this one to be fair. Me: When was that? This summer? 'DMAC': Last January. Thought people would be interested though all pretty pointless information!!
Saint_clark Posted 15 November, 2011 Posted 15 November, 2011 He'd be capable in the Premiership IMO which would fit with our transfer policy, but who would we drop out of Hammond, Morgan, Chaplow and Cork?

corsacar saint Posted 15 November, 2011 Posted 15 November, 2011 Lee Tomlin is their best player, young and he scores goals. Now he is worth a punt. [was he at West Ham as a youngster].

krissyboy31 Posted 15 November, 2011 Posted 15 November, 2011 Good player - Always looks 2 stone overweight to me though. The same could probably be said of Rickie Lambert when he first signed for us.
Crazy Diamond Posted 15 November, 2011 Posted 15 November, 2011 From his Twitter: grantmccann11 grant mccann Don't know where the Sun has got that rumour but I'm not leaving and I am more than happy at Pboro!! Will he add anything to what we've got? Is he better than what we've got? I'm thinking no to both questions.
woodsaint Posted 15 November, 2011 Posted 15 November, 2011 Wouldnt have him im afraid. After seeing him play for Northern Ireland on many occasion he is good with set plays...but we have ricky and foxy who can take them. He cant tackle and is a lazy midfielder. Not better than what we already so no thanks
Junction 9 Posted 15 November, 2011 Posted 15 November, 2011 Didn't set the world alight last time he was here but he did struggle with injuries. I have't been following his career but assumed he'd be on the verge of retirment by now.
COMEONYOUREDS Posted 15 November, 2011 Posted 15 November, 2011 Good player but good enough for the prem? I doubt it
