RIP RICKY BROWN - a Southampton Musical Legend

I heard today Ricky Brown - of Ricky Brown and the HiLites a massive Southampton band in the late 50's and 60's, died at the weekend. He brought a lot of joy to many a Sotonian and beyond in his heyday and continued singing live and harbouring desires to hit the big time, right up until the end.

I watched him many times and his brother in their band - awesome talent. RIP a great musician

Worked with him and Chris in a small factory in the early 60's, loved the man. Caught up with him recently at the Concorde reminiscing about the old haunts.

My Dad knew Ricky for years, and I met him a good couple of times. Had to endure a lot of heartbreak in his life aswell, with his daughter dying. RIP.
