3 - 6 month loan, or 1 year purchase?

We are on the verge of the premier league, this is the time we need to really table an offer for a player of premier league calibre, he probably wouldnt come but if he starred for us I believe it would secure his Euro spot and he would have a generous bonus for helping us join the premier league?

Maybe im dreaming big...

Never going to happen. Next silly rumour please. Only 2 1/2 months until the Jan window shuts FFS.

It wasnt a rumour, just a thought.

We need to be more ambitious otherwise we will bounce straight back down if we get promoted. It's not like the money isnt there, we are sitting clear in first, this is the time to try and bring in some quality.

Wikipedia says he is 27, and 6'1" and plays as a winger (!).... sounds like ANOTHER De Ridder type.

He was formerly team captain of the Lokomotiv side but is no great goalscorer never made double figs. even in a full season. (total 150 games -31 goals) + 45 caps for Russia (who don't have a very good side at present.)

His career at Everton has been notably undistinguished 52 games - 8 goals and a few assists.

Everton paid £8.9 million for him and even if they let him go, would IMO want at least half of that back - which itself would be a club record but for SFC..

Somehow Russians don't seem to adapt to the English game. Tottenham don't choose Pav....enko so often either.

Our previous sojourn with Russains in the 80's was little better.

Personally, can't see it happening. There are bound to be lots of other names quoted in the future, and think his name will sink a long way down the list. so DREAM ON !

I don't think this is even ambituous.. He is not playing well enough to nail a regular place with Everton and I think he just struggles with the English game.

Much better and more inexpensive options are available that would fit with NA's entry requirements of ability and attitude IMHO...
