chocco boxo Posted 29 October, 2008 Posted 29 October, 2008 Euell will win player of the season me thinks!
Give it to Ron Posted 29 October, 2008 Posted 29 October, 2008 Having watched him in the reserves with the young lads he certainly seems to help them and they seem to respect him as well. Considering he has only had a couple of games to get match fit since long term out I thought he did well last night.
stevegrant Posted 29 October, 2008 Posted 29 October, 2008 I thought Euell was excellent last night and gave McGoldrick someone to work off of as he was always looking to get forward to support him and also making runs beyond the front man as well, which is something we've lacked all season really.
Pancake Posted 29 October, 2008 Posted 29 October, 2008 More importantly, McG gives it the "OK" for Lowe coming down to give a rallying call before th game, says it was a positive as some of the kids had never met him.
Window Cleaner Posted 29 October, 2008 Posted 29 October, 2008 Thankfully we've got the much denigrated Jason Euell back onto the pitch. Did a lot for us at the end of last season.
KK the 2nd Posted 29 October, 2008 Posted 29 October, 2008 I agree he was excellent last night. He was full of running, held the ball up well, looked dangerous up front, got in key tackles in MF and defence, looked our only aerial threat and was constantly geeing up the players around him. .. and yes he would be player of the season if this was repeated every game.
simo Posted 29 October, 2008 Author Posted 29 October, 2008 Looks like 2 of our much maligned older pros from last season are stepping up to the plate! (Davis and Euell)
Pancake Posted 29 October, 2008 Posted 29 October, 2008 Looks like 2 of our much maligned older pros from last season are stepping up to the plate! (Davis and Euell) The other way to look at it (and by no means my opinion) is tarnished gold will be rejected when compared to shining examples, but will shine like the sun when compared to iron pyrite.
stevegrant Posted 29 October, 2008 Posted 29 October, 2008 Looks like 2 of our much maligned older pros from last season are stepping up to the plate! (Davis and Euell) To be fair, I don't think Euell was maligned too much after Nigel Pearson was appointed. The best thing Pearson did for us, in my opinion, was to get decent performances out of both Euell and Inigo Idiakez, both of whom had been utter **** previously. Davis has generally been fairly consistent, but he's received very short shrift from those who still remember the costly ****-ups he made early on in his Saints career against Preston and QPR. Yes, he's not particularly commanding, but I'd rather have an excellent shot-stopper than someone who can take crosses but can't save anything. Also, his distribution has improved dramatically this season.

Window Cleaner Posted 29 October, 2008 Posted 29 October, 2008 Isnt Wednesday the new Friday? Or has it changed, once again? Wednesday is the new Friday for specific purposes only. Philosophy isn't one of them. This was established by Mr Haddock in Misleading cases in Common Law.

So I can be "deep" on Friday, but anything about press releases, conference or takeovers is now for Wednesday?

If Wilde & Co are being consistent in the way they deal with the 'senior' players then the answer to that question will depend on his appearance fees and how often he wants to play.
West End Saint Posted 29 October, 2008 Posted 29 October, 2008 Thankfully we've got the much denigrated Jason Euell back onto the pitch. Did a lot for us at the end of last season. Agreed at the end of last season he had 3 or 4 good games he was MOM last nite hope he stays fit and has a decent run in the team he and spiderman look like they can form a partnership we also need his phsyical pressence and experience

But how can that be? Some on here have led me to believe that he's in the dressing room before every game? I'm so confused... Does this mean that people on here lied to me? Or some people are just full of sh:t?

Does this mean that people on here lied to me? Or some people are just full of sh:t? You forgot the obvious that McG is on the payola and is Lowe's stooge within the camp and will say anything in the press that lowe has told him to say... :smt040

They then put on some grime music and give it some bbbrrrrappp! I imagine anyways...
NickG Posted 29 October, 2008 Posted 29 October, 2008 thought DMG worked harder than normal and he admitted it himself on radio
Chez Posted 29 October, 2008 Posted 29 October, 2008 Euell was excellent last night and showed the difference between a big strong quick pro and the young lads we are trying to bring through. He worked hard, but it was his strong tackling, arial strengthm, his pace across the ground and some decent tone touch passing that stood out. Euell was excellent under Pearson and continued that form last night. Great to have him back in the side. Much more impressive than Stern John has been this season.
Chez Posted 29 October, 2008 Posted 29 October, 2008 thought DMG worked harder than normal and he admitted it himself on radio he certainly did work hard. Why, by his own admittance has he not worked as hard previously though? Was he previously advised to conserve energy perhaps by Stern lazy John?
EFM Posted 29 October, 2008 Posted 29 October, 2008 Wednesday is the new Friday for specific purposes only. Philosophy isn't one of them. This was established by Mr Haddock in Misleading cases in Common Law. Quite correct my learned Window Cleaner. I am sure you are also aware that Tuesday mornings have become the old Monday meaning that weekend hangovers are now legally allowed to extend into the second working way day of the week?
Raven on the wing Posted 29 October, 2008 Posted 29 October, 2008 I was amused to see Mc G using the term end of his "Goal drought" on the OS. Wonder if he saw his nick name on here ?
