1976_Child Posted 13 November, 2011 Share Posted 13 November, 2011 I hate spreading butter on hot toast. Can't stand eating hot toast. The butter melts and runs down one's fingers. Cold toast is the way forward. Which do you prefer?
latter day saint Posted 13 November, 2011 Share Posted 13 November, 2011 Hot obviously. if your going to have it cold why not just have a cracker/melba toast & save the trouble of toasting some bread ?
Lord Duckhunter Posted 13 November, 2011 Share Posted 13 November, 2011 It needs to be about 4 mins after it pops up, otherwise it's too hot. Longer than that is no good either.

Pugwash Posted 13 November, 2011 Share Posted 13 November, 2011 Warm or cold, never hot. Best as follows: lightly toasted, then buttered while warm, spread with peanut butter (smooth), then Branston pickle, top with thinly sliced cheddar cheese. Pop it under the grill for a few minutes - heaven! Elvis' favourite apparently (probably used a different pickle though).

trousers Posted 13 November, 2011 Share Posted 13 November, 2011 Hot (of course). With proper butter (obviously). And Marmite (goes without saying). White bread, hand sliced to about an inch thick. Best thing since sliced bread.
