MongoNeil Posted 12 November, 2011 Share Posted 12 November, 2011 I hope not. Being a northern exile I can only make it to a few away games a season.
Sour Mash Posted 12 November, 2011 Share Posted 12 November, 2011 Doubt it. Games like Hull away midweek end of March won't be season ticket only. Fair few others as well.
a1ex2001 Posted 14 November, 2011 Share Posted 14 November, 2011 It hasn't happened before and allthough our away support has grown significantly since relegation from the prem I can't see it ever being the cast that every away game sells out let alone sells out to just season ticket holders. doddisalegend Posted 14 November, 2011 Share Posted 14 November, 2011 Bit unfair if it was. I have a ST but very very rarely find the time or money to do away trips hardly seems fair I should get priority over some guy who's made the effort to get to some northern sh it hole on a tuesday night. I would have thought away trips if popular should go to those who have done the most away trips in a season (I assume there is some sort of record) and leave ST holders to be first choice on plumb home cup ties and major cup finals. Agree - owning a ST should be irrelevant to the allocation of away tickets; in the old days, when the membership system was in place and as long as you were a member, the club looked strictly at away games attended. Charlie Wayman Posted 14 November, 2011 Share Posted 14 November, 2011 Of course not, you can always get tickets for away matches one way or another
rick1976.4.38 Posted 14 November, 2011 Share Posted 14 November, 2011 hope not,as a non sth i mainly do away games,as i enjoy the day more than home games.i really dont get why sth get priority for away games.fair play to them for forking out what they do at sms,but us who do away games fork out a fair bit as well.i know donny have a big away end,so hopefuly the tickets go on general sale,as ive already booked the train.i had booked the train for four of us to go to bristol city but as none of us are sth, no tickets,

I think the suggestion is that we have a separate season ticket scheme for those that regularly attend away games. Makes sense to me but like home games there should be a proportion available for general sale.

Horley CTFC Saint Posted 14 November, 2011 Share Posted 14 November, 2011 ... every away game will be season ticket only? Lost count of the number of times I've had to make do with a ticket in the home end at away games over the last 2.5 seasons because our allocation has been sold out so at times it seems that it already is season ticket holders only!! Sour Mash Posted 14 November, 2011 Share Posted 14 November, 2011 By the half way point of this season we'll have only sold out at 3 away games (I'm assuming the Skates game in that), all 3 games local, obvious ones really. On that basis, generall speaking for away games anyone that wants a ticket can get one. And Reading went on general sale I think.

Fair enough but the website said it was sold out, similarly Bristol City is sold out. Last year Daggers, Brighton, Brentford to name the ones that come immediately to mind. This year I wont get one for Pompey and almost certainly Brighton. Others that come to mind include Watford, Millwall, Crystal Palace and Peterborough...but I could be wrong. Saint Garrett Posted 14 November, 2011 Share Posted 14 November, 2011 Towards the end of the season they generally are harder to come by. i.e. Brentford/Plymouth/Brighton last year.

Three local games out of half a season. All our others haven't came close to selling out, even on general sale. At a guess you'll struggle for Palace and Brighton and maybe Watford, should be ok for Millwall. Will struggle for Peterborough, but that's only because our allocation will be massively reduced due to their ground development. Obviously any promotion/play-off critical games will be popular, but genreally speaking we never sell out north of London/Bristol/Reading. Peterborough still have the terrace open at the moment which holds 4000 plus seats on the side, so if that is still there we could have 5k for that and it is a Tuesday night

Sour Mash Posted 14 November, 2011 Share Posted 14 November, 2011 This seems fairly up to date and is quite an interesting read http://www.theposh.com/page/MoysEnd/0,,10427~2449437,00.html Sounds like they're still not entirely sure what is happening and are a bit behind the original schedule, so who knows. Disgusting that a quality away end like that is being knocked down, sort of thing should be preserved as part of our nation's heritage!
