Much more likely that he'll pay a hefty fine and pay back the tax owed plus interest. Though it would scupper his England manager intentions, which can only be a good thing. VectisSaint Posted 12 November, 2011 Share Posted 12 November, 2011 So these payments were made over a period of time including while Saggy Chops was "in charge" at Saints. I would hope for Milan & 'arry's sake that none of the payments were actually between November 2004 and December 2005 otherwise there may be more than tax evasion to explain. LostBoys Posted 12 November, 2011 Share Posted 12 November, 2011 Spiritual home my arse - an opportunity it seems at PFC to receive commission on player transfers offshore if the reports are to be believed. An opportunity not available under Rupert at SFC.

That could explain the thumbs up between them the day we capitulated at Krap Nottarf. Anyway, I have a feeling this is all being discussed over in the world-famous thread in the Lounge. Off I go there now ....

Red Posted 13 November, 2011 Share Posted 13 November, 2011 TBF I think he would be a very good England manager Maybe, maybe not - personally I think Harry is the old school, and with that the biggest chancer going. However, ignoring all that, we need vision, long term planning, modern ideas, and energy within England management, and a 65+ year old is not that. There are plenty of great young / youngish English managers (one very close to home) who are, and that has to be the right foundation if we are ever to achieve anything significant again - sure it might take a few years to get there, which is why we need someone who can develop in to the role over a few years (ala Fergie at Manure when he first started). After all you cannot buy success at international level (such as Man****ty), so you have to build - hardly think anyone at 65+ (even without an iffy ticker) fits the bill somehow? chocco boxo Posted 14 November, 2011 Share Posted 14 November, 2011 What odds Arry plays the "not well enough card"? whilst spouting "I took Spurs to their best ever Premier League position , took them into the Champion League" etc. So he does not go back to Spurs leading up to the Court case, the old sympathy card used in court then Arry boy just becomes well enough to be full time TV Pundit and media whore? Charlie Wayman Posted 14 November, 2011 Share Posted 14 November, 2011 Football finances are about as transparent as a black plastic bag at midnight in a thick fog so it might be a tad unfair to single one bloke out and send him down as a lesson to the others when probably hundreds of others have been doing similar or far worse things. We need to separate our emotions about Redknapp leaving Saints from the pending legal proceedings of Customs & Excise that affect football. Spitefulness is inherently childish and does no credit to the people who are so blinkered in their outlook.
terrasaint Posted 14 November, 2011 Share Posted 14 November, 2011 TBF I think he would be a very good England manager Yes cuz what is the alternative, Sam Allardice or Steve Bruce? (not in my book) Not a fan of Arry but what other English managers are in contention? hopefully not Adkins because of his lack of experience at Premier League level. martel Posted 14 November, 2011 Share Posted 14 November, 2011 Any chance if found quilty Pimpey could be done as well I ver much doubt it, due to Pompey being under different ownership, on top of which they have since been in administration; however, how former directors stand could be a different issue. Matthew Le God Posted 14 November, 2011 Share Posted 14 November, 2011 I very much doubt it, due to Pompey being under different ownership, on top of which they have since been in administration. That defence didn't work for Luton Town... http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/l/luton_town/7507736.stm "The club argued that the old owners were responsible and that the club should not now be punished for their mistakes, but at a hearing in London on Tuesday the FA rejected their appeal." Alanh Posted 14 November, 2011 Share Posted 14 November, 2011 I can't see HR being a success as England manager. He's the epitome of the chequebook manager and on the international scene you can't just buy up another player when you want to. England need a manager who can mould a group of players into an effective team. I would prefer Roy Hodgson at the moment.
saintpat Posted 14 November, 2011 Share Posted 14 November, 2011 Possibly just the tip of a fairly large iceberg! And if Redcrapp was ever England manager I could not support them. Childish- yes perhaps, but my depth of feeling is such for that scumbag, that I would hope England lost every game. Of course there are too many skeletons in the cupboard for him to ever be made England manager.
Viking Warrior Posted 14 November, 2011 Share Posted 14 November, 2011 I can imagine the conspiracy theorist will come to a conclusion as to why HR is not returning to spurs immediately due to a minor heart op . As he is unlikely to return for between 6-8 weeks is it possible spurs have put him on gardening leave? Apparently, Harry Redknapp offered to send the spurs squad on an expenses paid holiday to Florida but they said they'd rather go to Blackpool so they could see what it's like to ride on an open-top bus

From HMRC's perspective sending Redkn*pp down would mean less income (Redkn*pp wouldn't pay tax whilst inside) and more outgoings (the extra cost of another inmate). It's a shame but that's the way the world works.
