Staplewood - Any developements yet ?

It seems like an eternity ago that planning consent was issued and plans were in place for an exciting new developement at Staplewood to build a fine new acadamy etc .

 

I've not seen anything on here for ages and can't see anything on the Club site so was just wondering if anything is happening yet or is it all still bogged down with red tape etc ???

 

Anyone know whats happening out of interest ???

Developments are currently in action, there is nothing to report until it is near completion.

I would expect that, until the EPPP is finalised and in place, the club won't over commit to changes that might become obsolete when the rules change.

FWIW I am pretty sure that the building work isn't going ahead, not sure what the reasons are mind.

Well, it's obvious. we are massively broke and massively in debt and nobody will deal with us because we don't pay.

I don't know, but having worked down there and having a walk around, popped my head into the big shed thing at the back is very impressive and the whole place is already top quality.

 

It may well be in the process but I was told it wasn't happening for whatever reason, and TBF, 15 Mil is a massive outlay and one that IMO we don't really need.

This is a great article on the Academy, it goes on to say the work on the permanent buildings start in days. Very strange feeling, everyone being so complimentary.
