Turkish Posted 13 November, 2011 Author Share Posted 13 November, 2011 Which is strange, because if you could be bothered to do the research, I think you'd find the members of said bands more likely support City. I'm not sure about the other two but the Stone Roses are United fans.
um pahars Posted 13 November, 2011 Share Posted 13 November, 2011 (edited) Which is strange, because if you could be bothered to do the research, I think you'd find the members of said bands more likely support City. Interesting as I think you'll find that Mani is a massive Red, Ian Brown is as well hence he sung This Is The One at Gary Neville's testimonial and Squire is a season ticket holder at OT. Bez iss a Red, along with Ryder. Walsh from The Carpets used to run with United's firm in the 80's and I always link them to United through the song "This is what it's like to be City, this is what it's like to be small". Throw in "Giggs will tear you apart, again" by Joy Division (of whom 3/4 were United fans) and I think the Reds have more than their fair share (although City can lay claim to Oasis) Edited 13 November, 2011 by um pahars

The9 Posted 13 November, 2011 Share Posted 13 November, 2011 I'm still reeling from the assertion that Elephant Stone "doesn't have a tune", FFS.

um pahars Posted 13 November, 2011 Share Posted 13 November, 2011 Yeah um, do your research FFS. TBF you shouldn't need research to know that mani and Brown are huge United fans, along with a few of the others.
alpine_saint Posted 13 November, 2011 Share Posted 13 November, 2011 Fair enough, must have been mixing up me Manc bands. Maybe I was thinking of Oasis and The Fall.
Guan 2.0 Posted 13 November, 2011 Share Posted 13 November, 2011 These songs are all **** (the chants, not the Stone roses). We should instead co-opt the classic 'Barbie girl' by Aqua for maximum wackiness. We're the saints mee-een In the saints den-nnn Support from plastics, It's fantastic! Dye our wigs and hair, Scarvers everywhere, Come and facepaint, Come support the saints Come on adkins lets go spackins! Ah ah ah yeah! Something for the whole family there. If we can get it going for the Brighton match that would be fabulous. especially if we get the Brighton fans to join in for some classic footie banter! With mexican waves to celebrate the match, and some classic songs such as 'if you all love footie clap your hands' , and seasonal panto style laughs by shouting 'he's behind you' at the brighton goalie to see if he looks. And Sammy and Super saint could run around firing glitter guns at any part of the ground which doesn't join in. Sorted.
