Saint_Randell Posted 11 November, 2011 Posted 11 November, 2011 So who's going to watch AFC Totton tomorrow then? First round of the F.A Cup, against Bradford Park Avenue, very winnable tie. Win that and we're in with the big boys (do Saints come in 2nd round or 3rd now?)

Prem & Championship enter in round 3, going to try and get down there local club with a nice little new ground, parking might be a problem but you could park on South Hants Industrial Estate and walk about half a mile.
for_heaven's_Saint Posted 11 November, 2011 Posted 11 November, 2011 Never mind Totton beating Bradford Park Avenue, when are we going to beat their Home wins in a row record?

Its not half a mile its a 3 or 4 minute walk. Its right next to the stadium.
1976_Child Posted 12 November, 2011 Posted 12 November, 2011 Going to watch Lewes v Bury in the Ryman South. Personally, as a loyal Southwick FC fan (Sussex County League) the idea of visiting Lewes is akin to me frequenting Fratton Park. However, The Wickers (Southwick) are not playing at home today and Lewes serves Harvey's Bitter which a delightful tipple. Also, there is more chance of catching the England game in Lewes after.
September Saint Posted 12 November, 2011 Posted 12 November, 2011 I think they have reports from the match on Radio Solent.
Rut Posted 12 November, 2011 Posted 12 November, 2011 Gutted - got to listen to all the pre-match stuff on Solent online and how it's blocked due to 'contractual reasons'. For anyone listening on Solent radio (999 am) (or at the game) the odd update would be appreciated.
Rut Posted 12 November, 2011 Posted 12 November, 2011 http://www.bradfordcityfc.co.uk/page/player/LatestNews If you have a Saints Player subscription you can listen to Bradford City v Rochdale on BCFC's Player. I assume they will be giving updates from the Totton v Bradford Park Avenue game. Better than nothing.
ohwhenthesaints Posted 12 November, 2011 Posted 12 November, 2011 Totton 1-0 up and a Bradford player has been sent off.

Thanks - but can't listen to it in America ("not available in your territory"). Good updates on: http://live.skysports.com/ScoreCentre/football.html (click the game and it's got play-by-play text updates). Plus the BCFC players mentioned the goal. Their dreams of a Bradford v Bradford 2nd Rd game are fading. Long way to go yet though. Come on you Stags!
alehouseboys Posted 12 November, 2011 Posted 12 November, 2011 Full house, 5-1 Totts, hatrick for Gosney, Yorkies now down to 9. Good on 'em.
Um Bongo Posted 12 November, 2011 Posted 12 November, 2011 (edited) 6-1. Great result. Now 7-1. Even greater, I guess. Edited 12 November, 2011 by Um Bongo
Huntingdon Posted 12 November, 2011 Posted 12 November, 2011 I've just noticed the crowd - 2315 That's a cracking effort, didn't they take 15,000 to Wembley for the FA Vase Final a few years back? It's begs the question....who's our biggest non-league club, Eastleigh or Totton?
anothersaintinsouthsea Posted 12 November, 2011 Posted 12 November, 2011 Tenner says they lose. I'll take that bet.

CHAPEL END CHARLIE Posted 12 November, 2011 Posted 12 November, 2011 (edited) Not Totton sadly, but I did get to go to AFC Bmth v Gillingham in the FA Cup this afternoon. A highly entertaining game that Bmth somehow managed to draw 3-3 after leading for most of the time and being easily the better side. Overall the quality was well below what I've become accustomed to at St Marys needless to say, but football doesn't always have to be technically impressive to be worth watching if you know what I mean. Trust me that Bmth's keeper (Darryl Flahaven) was so bad that even Tommy Forecast would need not fear for his place - a valuable reminder of how lucky we are to have Kelvin. The only player who really stood out for me in the positive sense was the home sides wide left player Scott Malone - no Adam Lallana but this lad can play a bit. trousers Posted 12 November, 2011 Posted 12 November, 2011 I've just noticed the crowd - 2315 Hundreds of plastic fans there then. No doubt the hard core Totton fans will be up in arms...
CLOTH EARS Posted 12 November, 2011 Posted 12 November, 2011 I went to the game and Totton were sen****JINsational!!! 8-1 and they were well worked goals.
Huntingdon Posted 12 November, 2011 Posted 12 November, 2011 I just hope they get a great draw, to get another non league team would be such an anti-climax for them
Pugwash Posted 12 November, 2011 Posted 12 November, 2011 I hope they get an easy draw, through to the third round and a home draw against the skates.
LostBoys Posted 12 November, 2011 Posted 12 November, 2011 Tenner says they lose. Close enough l:lol:
Fitzhugh Fella Posted 12 November, 2011 Posted 12 November, 2011 Hundreds of plastic fans there then. No doubt the hard core Totton fans will be up in arms... Sometimes your attempts at irony - if I read you right - don't really work. I went, I am a Saints fan but i took great pleasure in being able to support a side that play decent football. And as my grandfather on my mother's side hailed from Totton I felt no pangs of guilt for transferring my allegiances for the day. Perhaps you should start posting more genuine posts rather than trying to be too clever. Apologies if I have misread your thoughts.
Patrick Bateman Posted 12 November, 2011 Posted 12 November, 2011 Well played Totton!! Totton vs Saints 3rd round, would be brilliant, Totton vs Skates 3rd round, would be awesome ...
CLOTH EARS Posted 13 November, 2011 Posted 13 November, 2011 I am a Saints fan but i am, a Tottonian and today was a great great day for the town. we ( Totton ) are loving all the attention we are getting from the media at the mo, we feel very honoured and priveleged and hopefully there will be more to come! The club was buzzin this evening and there was lots of tears of emotion from several club people, days like today remind me why i love football so much!
Genk Posted 13 November, 2011 Posted 13 November, 2011 Hundreds of plastic fans there then. No doubt the hard core Totton fans will be up in arms... Wonder if they will be waving their Season Tickets in the air?!

Haven't you read it completely the wrong way around, to me its a dig at the dickhead ST waving Saints fans.
Fan The Flames Posted 13 November, 2011 Posted 13 November, 2011 Personally, as a loyal Southwick FC fan (Sussex County League) the idea of visiting Lewes is akin to me frequenting Fratton Park. I've always seen it as Southwick are Pompey and Shoreham are Southampton.
sotonjoe Posted 13 November, 2011 Posted 13 November, 2011 I went and it was a good afternoon's entertainment. To be honest, I thought the standard of football was poor; it was certainly poorer than I had expected, and I have watched some non-league stuff before (Morecambe in the Conference and bits and pieces of Eastleigh). As far as I can remember all (or most) of Totton's 2nd half goals came from getting the ball out to the wide left player, him beating his man (admittedly, nicely done at times) and putting a decent ball in to the box. Time and time again Bradford had three 'defenders' in the box, not marking anyone, and they were beaten by an incoming Totton player to the ball. I was shocked by how aggressive and physical the game was, both in a positive and negative sense. It was good to see the level of energy, enthusiasm and commitment, but Bradford were certainly a filthy side who fouled Totton time and time again. One of the Bradford coaches was a bit of character as well. Just before half time I heard him moaning that, "We've come all this way, we're losing 3-1 to a bunch of ****heads and now they've nicked one of our balls." The ground was straining to deal with the number of people they let in; not surprising really when their website claims that the ground will be licenced for "close to 2000" spectators and yet they admitted over 2300. Of course they want their pay day, but it made getting food and drink difficult and using the bog a near on impossibility at half time.
Huffton Posted 13 November, 2011 Posted 13 November, 2011 Hopefully they'll get a decent easy home draw in the next round then get a massive team away in the third, so get a nice big payday. Just hope they don't get MK Dons, Totton will have more fans... Saints at SMS would be an amazing draw if it happened, although I think I would have to become neutral for the day!
bpsaint Posted 13 November, 2011 Posted 13 November, 2011 I hope they get an easy draw, through to the third round and a home draw against the skates. Wonder if they'd move that to St Marys for safety concerns should that happen? I'd imagine thousands of Saints fans would fancy it as a bit of a mini derby, and the skate fans would come in numbers as they'd still see it as getting one over on the 'fackin scummers'.
The9 Posted 13 November, 2011 Posted 13 November, 2011 Fantastic draw for them to get Bristol Rovers at home in the next round.
the wedge Posted 13 November, 2011 Posted 13 November, 2011 Was hoping for Charlton away for purely selfish reasons but Rovers at home is a wonderful draw. Here's hoping they win it!
The Kraken Posted 13 November, 2011 Posted 13 November, 2011 Who gives a f*ck? I do, cheers. The others posting on this thread do too, I guess.
Thorpe-le-Saint Posted 13 November, 2011 Posted 13 November, 2011 Was hoping they would get Col U or Chelmsford for selfish reasons - but a potential upset on the cards. Totton away in the 3rd round?
Griffo Posted 13 November, 2011 Posted 13 November, 2011 I do, cheers. The others posting on this thread do too, I guess. We support Southampton.
beatlesaint Posted 13 November, 2011 Posted 13 November, 2011 We support Southampton. Well spotted No flies on you are there ? And your problem with showing an interest in our non league neighbours is ?
the wedge Posted 13 November, 2011 Posted 13 November, 2011 And by definition I'll also support any team playing within the city limits. Unless they're playing Southampton.
