1976_Child Posted 10 November, 2011 Posted 10 November, 2011 Is it me or is Rab the funniest, most brilliant comedy show ever to be broadcast? Any other Rab fanatics out there?
Special K Posted 10 November, 2011 Posted 10 November, 2011 Rab is brilliant. Some of the lines Ian Pattison writes are top drawer. Personal favourites are when Rab is looking at Mary Doll taking an afternoon nap and says "Look at that, the face that lunched a thousand chips!" Or Gash saying to Rab, "How can a spineless bastard like youse, have a bad back?!" But there are loads of quality lines. Anyone got any more? Only managed to catch a couple of episodes of the recent series. Brilliant when Rab was a terrorist, holding Richard E Grant hostage. Superb stuff.
pap Posted 10 November, 2011 Posted 10 November, 2011 I've been a fan of Rab since Naked Video. It's weird. Watching him is very reminiscent of the time I've spent in Liverpool and Northern Ireland. Your brain has to prepare itself just to understand what is being said. Rab is gloriously amusing once it clicks, though. * I still cannot understand Northern Irish people once they've had, say, more than seven pints.

That was the only one I managed to see whilst back - absolute classic.
Saint in Paradise Posted 12 November, 2011 Posted 12 November, 2011 Oh yes I really like him and have been trying to educate some New Zealanders. Snag is they find it very difficult to understand him so I have to translate for them.
