Skates struggling to sell tickets for the game

it is a complete myth that they have such great fans, however they do unfortunately have excellent PR and the media love going on about the "superb support" they enjoy.

it is interesting that once again the report confirms our allocation is 3200, that is a good number of tickets, and with the roof they have now we should be able to make loads of noise. i do worry that with the travel limitations and the postal ballot requirements we won't sell them all, which would be incredibly embarrassing.

The police and the clubs will seek to minimise the impact on fans but recognise the usual access to licensed premises will be affected, with no alcohol available in the away end or permitted on the coaches travelling to the ground.

Burrows said: “We ask Southampton fans to recognise that this measure is taken in the interests of the safety of everyone coming to the match.

That'll spoil a few people's day

I trust we will reciprocate

When we played them in the cup people slept in tents over night outside our ticket office. 2 weeks later they were on general sale to anyone. Not sure what point I'm trying to make, can someone help me out?

if you want to get a certain seat you need to get in early, if you're not bothered where you sit then take your time getting a ticket i think is the message.

if we are still top come March i can see the home end selling out very quickly at st marys for the skates visit on Easter weekend.

where there is a will there's a way, sneak hip flasks, bottle of coke with vodka etc, having said that people should be buzzing on pure adrenaline going to fratton , shouldn't need a drink to get up for a game like this.

still no details on selling arrangements for non-season ticket holders? i'm not convinced we'll sell out to just season ticket holders by this method.

And it also confirms once and for all that we have 3,200 tickets. It looks like dune was indeed talking to the spotty "oik" in the ticket office rather than the supervisor...

Someone needs to ring up the club and ask them again.

it is interesting that saints have no point stated how many tickets are availoable in the ballot, unless i have missed it? which does imply the final decision may still not have been taken by the police how much segregation to leave

I'm airing on the side of not bothering and i've gone on every previous ocassion. I can't see it selling out. Hants OB/Cortese will be well chuffed by this as they have gone out of their way to make attending the fixture as difficult as possible.

The difference being of course that they only have 18k tickets to sell for the one, we had 28,000.

In fact it'd be good if the fixture didn't sell out because that would **** on the self congratulations you just know Burrows has already rehearsed for the post match police press conference.

"Er i'm not here to talk about the decline in attendance, i'm here to talk about what a good job i've done in my quest for an OBE."

What was the policy for STs for the game? One ticket per ST as is usually the case? If so, the fact that they've gone on general sale doesn't mean anything let alone that they're struggling to sell tickets.

Season ticket holders then on sale to their membership club "the blue Army" who got priority. So yes, it does prove they are stuggling to sell them.

so season ticket holders could buy one extra ticket each?

i assume when we play them here season ticket holders and "database" will be able to buy as usual, although maybe limited to one per customer number

not sure about season ticket holders being able to buy extra, but it says on their website members of the "The Blue Army" will get priority and it goes on sale to them first, then general sale. I guess "the Blue Army" cant be very big.

The media don't. The media merely did their 'newly promoted team has great support' stuff as usually happens where experience of top flight football is very new and exciting. They didn't realise half the fans were there to see the opposition so applauding arsenal wasn't that unlikely.

The media don't mention it these days and haven't for a long time. They were just a more fraudulent version of Hull, Blackpool or Bradford, nothing more. Bizarre and contrary to all evidence to suggest they have decent support. It'd be above average for League 1 maybe, although probably not while the sheffield clubs are there.

Even their own fans hate Westwood and his band and the monotonous chants. SKY on the other hand think this equals great support. I'm thankful that we are different and i'm pleased that thanks to what they do we will never go down that route.

Does anyone on here who is a bit old and has a problem walking want me to get them a ticket? Additional seat for your 'enebler' and all for face value. Voluntary contributions to the Hexagon Sainst welcome but certainly not a pre-requisite.

I'd be interested to know what the plan is for our disabled supporters actually? As far I was aware the travel club can only accomodate 2 wheelchairs at the moment, they're gonna struglle to find room for us if we take up our full wheelchair user allocation.

Anyway, offer is there if anyone fancies it.

Are you in the wheel chair and looking for a push, or are you offering to push someone who agrees to sit in a wheel chair?

Not even close dune.

None of (my) The Hexagon Saints wants to go. They're all a bit scared tbh.

I have previously been involved in setting up a minibus loan scheme to enable more wheelchair using and disabled Saints fans can get to away games, but the club has reduced their capacity to 2 and I have not been contacted by the club asking to use our minibus for this match. I expected them to at least take up my offer of a FREE minibus, as a gesture of our gratitude for all the help they have given us. It's been a real slog and bloody hard work by all involved to get this bunch of fans to their almost self sufficient point. My proudest achievement professional-wise.

Anyway, we don't need any of our season ticket entitlement so we are offering them to a worthy fan who otherwise would not ever get to experience the electrifying atmosphere of a derby match at Fratton. Every fan should have the oportunity to experience that.

Sadly, I am neither available to push you in a wheelchair nor empty your catheter bag. I'll be watching it from the comfort of my favourite pub, supping ale and nipping out every now and then for a crafty smoke. Don't tell mrs hamster, it's a secret.

You can buy tickets online. I couldn't bring myself to create an account on the Pompey website to complete the transaction, but there was nothing to say I couldn't create a new account and buy a ticket.

From the ticket site I worked out they have 1541 tickets left to sell.

Let’s be honest, that must be pretty embarrassing for them that they’ve gone to general sale and are slow selling – they had little over 17,000 to shift to their home fans.

This could be why we haven’t heard how many we’re getting yet, their OS says we’ve been given 3,200, the entire end, but how many we’ll be allowed to sell from that may depend on if the skates sell-out or not. If they don’t maybe they’ll take the segregation out of their seats between the 2 sets of fans to save a bit of humiliation or if they do eventually (realistically I think they will – it’s only 17k FFS!) then the segregation will come out of our of our allocation. When we played them at SMS in the cup I’m sure they were given the maximum area of 4,200 but were only allowed to sell 3,800 for the same reason.
