According to other fan's, team's and manager's it's the goal's we are continuosly gifted.

I think we owe them all a big thankyou.

The main reason is our fans and their superb use of grammar, particularly apostrophes.

1)Adkins( man-management and tactics)

2)Winning mentality

3)Home form

Totally agree with all three.

(1) Genius team of management he has.

(2) Don't know when we are beaten.

(3) Some teams are beaten even before they get off the coach at St Mary's as they know just how good we are so the opposition try to change styles to counter it.

Only one reason why we are top......

nearly every opposition manager has made this clear....

Coventry manager Andy Thorn in this article

http://www.football365.com/championship/7295067/Coventry-v-Southampton-reaction

"They showed real character to get back into it but then we shot ourselves in the foot again and that's disappointing because when we got back to 2-2 I thought we were going to go on but credit to them they are a good side and they kept going but we gifted them goals."

Mine are

1. Nigel Adkins tactics.

2. Rickie Lambert link up play.

3. Our Support this year.

Let's not be over-generous here. It's easy to support a team when they're doing exceptionally well. Even Pompey got half-decent support when they were doing well in the Prem.

The Liebherrs money

The Liebherrs money

The Liebherrs money

The money saved our skins, that's a fact. To deny any other factor in what happening today is nonsense though. To suggest this would be akin to saying that anything you ever achieved in your own life is solely due to the competence of the midwife that delivered you.

Sorry to use a metaphor, but it's the easiest way to communicate with the terminally stupid.

He's right though.

Markus's money didn't just save us, it's bankrolling us.

We would never have attracted Pardew without the money. He would never have attracted Lambert and retained Lallana.

Adkins would never have come to the club.

We would not be in this position without the cash.

Yes, we now have a manager and players who are doing fantastically well.

But to use your analogy, if you'd had an incompetent midwife who failed to deliver you, how do you think you would be faring today... ;)

The money was extremely important. Nobody would deny that. However, it goes far beyond that since the initial injection and the cash-injected improvements made since then. I believe in evolution. We are evolving, and many of our improvements exist outside of the cash injection.

I'm delighted to find someone in the mid-west who believes in evolution. Thought you were all creationists. ;)

But seriously, while we can evolve, imagine how hard it is for clubs like Blackpool and Peterborough to do the same.

We are ahead of 90% of the clubs in this division because of money. The other 10% (West Ham, Leicester, Leeds, Brighton) we are ahead of because we attracted a brilliant manager who is getting unbelievable performances from players all over the park.

And it genuinely cannot hurt that our toughest game was a sellout!

1) Adkins' managerial genius

2) Liebherr's money

3) Cortese's business nous

Of course the players have a key role, but 1 - 3 have given the club what was needed to make the conditions right for the players to be winning and to bring them to the club in the first place.
