Of course I could have meant take the P!ss out of Brighton without being Homophobic but no because i called you a poof for not being able to man up and accept that PC behaviour is not always acceptable and some people dont think PC is always right

But you didn't mean that.

Tempted to buy a ticket in block 1 and give my ST to the old man.

you'll have to be quick, for the west ham game they only put these blocks on sale when there was virtually nothing left elsewhere in the ground, can see them selling over the weekend, when was the last time we sold out a week before a home game?

So we can expect plenty of "you're only here to see the seagulls" and "we're your cup final" from the brighton fans then....

No surprise really, despite a few fans on both sides saying they're not bothered by this match, after last season you get the feeling both sets of fans want to see the other side get a stuffing. Both teams fans seem to have an extreme dislike for each others managers.

Looking forward to "Are we Dagenham in disguise?"

When I was a Matelot the acronym for a Seagull was '****EHAWK'. We also had a saying 'Brighton for Brown' So every time the 'gulls' shout their nickname we should reply 'SHI..TE'! (With or without the 'E') That's as close to shirtlifting as I can get without being non PC.

PS. Mods. Am I permitted to send this ?????

just went & got my tickets.tried Northam & Kingsland North, no luck so i'm in block 3 right at the back.

how strict are the stewards about standing ? not been there since prem days.

The back half/back third of blocks 1-3 stood for the West Ham game, so you should be alright in that regard.

Got mine online last week. In a rush to get them I clicked on block 23 by mistake, tickets arrived for the Family Centre. Bum. Popped to the club last Saturday they changed them for block 39 no problem and no extra charge (other than face value difference) so Im happy and ready to see B&HA have new bottomholes torn.

4-0

No, not until you correct 'acronym' to 'synonym'.

When are you flying Phil? I am getting home on the Friday morning EK flight from Dubai.

Just booked through LGW no airmiles to LHR ditto land 6:35 Friday heading back Sunday lunchtime. My "Driver" parks down near the old City Wall and usually goes for Fish & Chips to Mike's (was Max's) (before you get to Debenhams coming from Dock side) for lunch. Open to ANY ideas for a pub close to there if anyone wants to meet up

PM en route

The Brighton fans have a thread for a song for Adkins:

http://www.northstandchat.com/showthread.php?219236-Nigel-Adkins-Song

I can't be bothered trawling through it all, but to be fair there are some pretty rational comments on it,telling the OP to get over it

Compared to some of the stuff Gus comes out with I think Adkins is quite mild. He has done a great job at Saints and they are rightly top of the league this season.

Oh give it a rest. His team are well clear of ours, and in all probability will be in the Prem next year so will only make the Saints fans laugh at our childishness. Gus comments about them last year were probably worse.

Southampton are NOT our rivals.

Although there remains some critiscism over the lack of a guard of honour.

Its official, I now see Brighton fans as the wierdest and least knowledgable about football.

http://www.northstandchat.com/showthread.php?219545-Who-are-the-biggest-club-on-the-South-Coast-(and-where-do-we-sit....)

I thought there were some fair points in there, like this bloke:

"The dell held 30,000 in its day and yet before St Marys, Saints had just one 30,000 crowd, Brighton, palace and pompey numerous. Brighton had bigger gates in the 70s and 80s because they had more punters through the turnstile, not because saints couldnt get them in, saints could, they just didnt, despite being in a higher division than us. When Brighton and palace were getting 25000/30000 crowds, saints were getting about 17000 and were a plucky underdog. Saints have come a long way since mind you but still only rarely get a 30K crowd and knock about between 20,000 to 25,000. This a long way from a west ham, which is a step up from the Brighton's, palace's, pompey's and saints of this world."

the bloke who starts going down the road of attendances gets quickly put in his place by a saints fan who checks average post war home attendances and it shows they only averaged more than us 4 times in 60 odd years, we are clearly a bigger club then them. they have come on a lot with the new ground though, i'll give them that, a lot of interest in that area selling out for an England U19 game on Thursday, plus their away support is as good as ours i'd say.

Really cool send off for me today by Eric. Have NO idea how he pulled it off, but around 4:30 today he got some Aerobatic team (probably Les Frogs not the Arrows) to do their display with smoke on and make big letters in the sky over the airport.

About a minute after they finished the last loop the shapes spelt out COYS

Great job Dude - can you try & get a pic tomorrow I was driving at the time.

I take that as a good omen for Me & Del boy's first nPc game of the year!

Fair enough, but we have spent most of that time higher up than them in the league so you'd sort of expect us to average better attendances. I've always thought of us as a bigger club than Portsmouth, and I don't know how anyone in their right mind could question that, but I'd say we're about on a level with Brighton at the moment. Similar support, new stadiums, good owners, moving up the leagues - perhaps we're a nose in front but no more.

we are definitely a bigger club than Brighton, 1978-2005 in the top flight with a team full of internationals , signing european player of the year Kevin Keegan and England goalkeeper Peter Shilton, they can't get close to post-war history like that

Take care about quoting Big Names to justify being a Big Club! In the 1960's Brighton had Flash Gordon on one wing and Frankie Howard on the other!

Best pub close to Mikes is deffo the Platform and the bus pulls up outside to take you to St Marys

Wimp! It's a digestive walk from The Platform. Helps get a thirst up for the post-match pints. I sometimes wonder how I keep my figure! [Training 3 nights a week, if you must know].
