maddog Posted 3 November, 2011 Posted 3 November, 2011 Anyone recommend a local oven cleaning company? I have a built in single oven that needs a clean before i rent my property out.
maddog Posted 3 November, 2011 Author Posted 3 November, 2011 Have google branched out into Oven Cleaning then?
Colinjb Posted 3 November, 2011 Posted 3 November, 2011 Ok, why can't you just get a can of oven cleaner, a scouring pad and a pair of gloves and do it yourself?
Dog Posted 3 November, 2011 Posted 3 November, 2011 I'm sure they could send someone around if you're desperate. Good name, it suits you.
maddog Posted 3 November, 2011 Author Posted 3 November, 2011 Because im very lazy! Plus if I pay for it to be done then my tenant has to pay for it to be done when they move out.
maddog Posted 3 November, 2011 Author Posted 3 November, 2011 I spoken to google and they dont do oven cleaning! So you are wrong, thanks for the recommendation though!

Colinjb Posted 3 November, 2011 Posted 3 November, 2011 Because im very lazy! Plus if I pay for it to be done then my tenant has to pay for it to be done when they move out. Not wrong! It doesn't take that long!!!! Why not give your tenant the choice, clean it or pay for it to be cleaned?
maddog Posted 3 November, 2011 Author Posted 3 November, 2011 Not wrong! It doesn't take that long!!!! Why not give your tenant the choice, clean it or pay for it to be cleaned? Because i dont want to.
Dog Posted 3 November, 2011 Posted 3 November, 2011 I don't have an oven. Just a microwave & a toaster.
Colinjb Posted 3 November, 2011 Posted 3 November, 2011 Because i dont want to. You sir, are a service companies dream.
maddog Posted 3 November, 2011 Author Posted 3 November, 2011 I don't have an oven. Just a microwave & a toaster. Do you clean them?
Colinjb Posted 3 November, 2011 Posted 3 November, 2011 Do you clean them? No, he hires a team of experts to come in fortnightly at £40 per hour. Do you clean your own home? In all seriousness though, I had no idea that there would be companies who would come out just to clean an oven!!

In all seriousness though, I had no idea that there would be companies who would come out just to clean an oven!! There is because its not only the inside of the oven, they will clean the glass and remove all dials etc to de-grease. They also clean the extractor out etc etc. Its a full on job so not something i can be bothered to do on a property i dont live in. If i get a pro company in then the tenant cant complain about the quality and if they do i can get the company back in to re-do it. Saves a lot of hassle in the long term.
Dog Posted 3 November, 2011 Posted 3 November, 2011 Why not buy a new oven? I bet you'll want a new toilet and bath next, afterall I bet the tenant left some nasty rim stains.
Dog Posted 3 November, 2011 Posted 3 November, 2011 Do you clean them? Yes, i stick them in the bath once a fortnight.
maddog Posted 3 November, 2011 Author Posted 3 November, 2011 Why not buy a new oven? I bet you'll want a new toilet and bath next, afterall I bet the tenant left some nasty rim stains. I rebuild the house for every tenant
ecuk268 Posted 3 November, 2011 Posted 3 November, 2011 We used Cookerburra. They're a franchise and the local operators were excellent. It was about 2 years ago and cost about £50. Very thorough. Dismantled the cooker as much as possible and took the bits out to his van where the nasty chemicals were.
sambosa75 Posted 3 November, 2011 Posted 3 November, 2011 I've recently been looking for a cleaning firm to come in once a week and give my place the once over. I have since found out there are agencies out there where a really fit, most probably South American or Eastern European bird will come round, clean your place absolutely naked. I quite fancied giving this a try but the girlfriend vetoed the idea
Give it to Ron Posted 3 November, 2011 Posted 3 November, 2011 We have used Kookaburra - can recommend them.
buctootim Posted 3 November, 2011 Posted 3 November, 2011 Ive got a pyrolytic oven - on a special programme it heats itself to 500c and turns all the gunk to ash. Cost about £100 extra, money well spent imo.

CB Saint Posted 5 November, 2011 Posted 5 November, 2011 http://www.oven-care.com/ just had them round - best £40 i have spent for a long time
