david in sweden Posted 3 November, 2011 Share Posted 3 November, 2011 OK... someone's going to tell me that this has to be Saints-related...and so I have TWO points to make.. Firstly, being in the generation that (painfully) recalls our disasterous visit to Elland Road in March 1972 (lost 0-7) there still aren't enough plasters to heal the wound, not to mention that - at that time - I worked for a company with a head office in Leeds. Leeds were the team everyone loved to hate. Secondly..after Leeds reserve keeper ..Rabchucka ? ..let in three soft goals before HT, and Simon Grayson put on his Academy keeper in the second half (he only let in TWO). However, it seems that Grayson is now on the hunt for another keeper ...my suggestion is ..Tommy Fourpast (sorry) Forecast , maybe ???? Well it's only a thought. Window Cleaner Posted 3 November, 2011 Share Posted 3 November, 2011 Leeds just ain't that good. Good crowd though, same at Derby, can't be often that 2 games get a better crowd than Saints for the same round of fixtures. Still I guess our fans' pockets are getting pretty depleted by constant away game attendance.
hypochondriac Posted 3 November, 2011 Share Posted 3 November, 2011 Good to see derby lost too.
SaintRobbie Posted 3 November, 2011 Share Posted 3 November, 2011 I'm not sure which I hate more… Ian Holloway or Leeds. Frankly a mundane draw of 0-0 would probably have satisfied me more!
SO5 4BW Posted 3 November, 2011 Share Posted 3 November, 2011 That Leeds team of the 60s and 70s were SO reviled that even now, 40 years later, fans of my generation still instinctively want them to lose! Ha ha ha

Simple: Holloway -- clown Leeds -- gits Therefore hate Leeds more. HTH
KK the 2nd Posted 3 November, 2011 Share Posted 3 November, 2011 Firstly, being in the generation that (painfully) recalls our disasterous visit to Elland Road in March 1972 (lost 0-7) there still aren't enough plasters to heal the wound, not to mention that - at that time - I worked for a company with a head office in Leeds. Leeds were the team everyone loved to hate. That result hurt like hell ... the TV kept playing the replays of Leeds taking the p*ss at 6-0 leading to goal seven and how wonderful they were. Everton thumping us 8-0, the FA Cup semi defeat against Everton at Highbury and more recently the DSBs beating us 4-1 at fartton are also the lowest points in my Saints life. Anyway onwards and upwards now and together as one!
once_bitterne Posted 3 November, 2011 Share Posted 3 November, 2011 Blackpool could well be a danger to us in the second half of the season. Their defence is the pretty much the same as the one that coped so well in the Prem for the first half of the season and they have just added Lualua to the squad so Phillips was only on the bench last night. jamesb Posted 3 November, 2011 Share Posted 3 November, 2011 Couldnt resist laughing at that result myself. My cousins a Leeds fan, and Im seeing her at the weekend Also the interview with Poyet after losing to Watford on Tuesday night (The watford we destroyed at home). Brighton didnt even manage an attempt on goal! Still glad that his teams play football the right way after all. We just play like Doncaster with a good striker dont we??? trousers Posted 3 November, 2011 Share Posted 3 November, 2011 I've only just spotted the Leeds and Derby scores (forgot they were playing last night). Permission to chuckle out loud please :-)
badgerx16 Posted 3 November, 2011 Share Posted 3 November, 2011 I think the result flattered Blackpool, being as it was aided and abetted by a truly awful first half performance from Rachubka, such that he was subbed for an 18 year old at half time. So far this season their fans have been on IH's back over their performances and team selection, and their response to last night was 'at last he got it right'. doddisalegend Posted 3 November, 2011 Share Posted 3 November, 2011 It should be pointed out blackpool were playing against 10 men after 25 mins.......
Ian the Red Posted 3 November, 2011 Share Posted 3 November, 2011 I despise dirty Leeds almost as much as the skate ba£$%^ds down the road. Remember the embarrassment of the 7-0 thrashing at their place. Absolute joy at their result last night. What would be delightful is for Saints to go their in March and destroy dirty Leeds 7-0, now that would be priceless!
Wes Tender Posted 3 November, 2011 Share Posted 3 November, 2011 It should be pointed out blackpool were playing against 10 men after 25 mins....... So that's why they piled on the agony and the goals, just as we had, playing against 10 men on Tuesday. Oh.
BGF Posted 3 November, 2011 Share Posted 3 November, 2011 I was in Poland in 2004 and a guy from London started talking to me & I mentioned I supported SFC his reply was hahah we beat you 7-0 and I then found out he was a Leeds supporter!!! I couldn't believe some one would take the micky after 30 years. I would love to thrash them just to shut him up.

doddisalegend Posted 3 November, 2011 Share Posted 3 November, 2011 Yes we did but they scored!!! Ah yes the peno that wasn't a peno. Funnily enough on the train home that day I was talking to some Leeds fans (who had nothing but nice things to say about how we played) they'd walked out early in disgust and didn't even know they scored.... hackedoff Posted 3 November, 2011 Share Posted 3 November, 2011 For some strange reason I find it hard to dislike Holloway, maybe its that West country accent or his continual persuit of a laugh. One of the few characters left in the game. Fire away !
corsacar saint Posted 3 November, 2011 Share Posted 3 November, 2011 Hollaway is a character.and they are very sadly in short supply in the current game. The game against Blackpool in 5 weeks time could be an absolute cracker,as a manager,he always sends his team out to attack.
