When did we last score when playing ten men

I really cant remember when this last happened (it must have at some point) although I do seem to remeber a number of occasions when the team down to 10 have managed to hold out against us from the point they went down to 10 such as Peterboro did yesterday

Is this selective memory by me or is it a recurring issue for Saints teams of whatever make up?

We were 2-0 up already, there was no reason to overexert themselves and Peterboro's goal was basically their only shot on target in an hour, I'm not sure why the need to go hunting goals and leaving ourselves open to the kind of counterattack which they actually got us with once anyway. Sounds like people moaning their 5-1 bets didn't come in to me.

My Dad reckons the best tactic sides could employ at SMS is to start with 10 men - maybe after last night he has a point?

Although that will never happen, teams will look at Tuesday's game and probably decide to set up ultra defensively from the go at SMS from now on. 11 men largely behind the ball and look to catch us on the break. It is a tactic that i'd be slightly concerned about. Don't think we're all that great at breaking sides down when they park the bus. Only time will tell i guess!

I realise your old man is joking, but would we be allowed to start a match with 10 players on the pitch & still have a full compliment of subs? I would assume not.

In this hypothetical scenario, I think a team would be "allowed" to play with 10 men if the 11th man was on the pitch at the start of the game, if only for a second. I assume a player leaving the field of play is allowed to return at any time during the course of the game....or is there a time limit...?

But, as you say, it's not about starting with 10 men per se, it's about teams adopting the same tactics with 11 men as they often do when reduced to 10 men.

Meanwhile, back in the real world... :-)
