Saint J 77 Posted 2 November, 2011 Posted 2 November, 2011 And just for those who don't know what the hell this thread is all about Watch and be educated
ecuk268 Posted 2 November, 2011 Posted 2 November, 2011 I've heard he doesn't travel very fast. Not built for comfort, but built to last..
Jack Posted 2 November, 2011 Posted 2 November, 2011 Last time I heard that song sung by us was at the Compleat Angler in Norwich, when they were our last away game of the season. (playoffs season?) Loads of smashed saints fans singing that in the sun, quality day on the ****. 1-0 win (Best?)

Hatch Posted 2 November, 2011 Posted 2 November, 2011 5th. started slowly, behind, ridden over 2f out, headway over 1f out, not able to challenge
Fitzhugh Fella Posted 2 November, 2011 Posted 2 November, 2011 Now if the Northam sung that instead of the crap they came out with last night......
Clash City Saint Posted 2 November, 2011 Posted 2 November, 2011 I expect he took the long way round.......
krissyboy31 Posted 2 November, 2011 Posted 2 November, 2011 Now if the Northam sung that instead of the crap they came out with last night......Yes but at the speed they sing songs it'd be more of a hydrofoil.
Joesaint Posted 2 November, 2011 Posted 2 November, 2011 And just for those who don't know what the hell this thread is all about Watch and be educated Love it, 2 parts you wold think would be easy as songs at st marys may have heard bits wrong though: I looked over to Woolston, And what did I see, coming forth to carry me home, The old woolston ferry coming towards me, Coming forth to carry me home. On the Woolsten ferry, It doesn't travel very fast, It was never built for comfort, It was built to last. COYS
Jack Posted 2 November, 2011 Posted 2 November, 2011 Wasn't that the first game after Bally passed too? Possibly. My memory isn't that great on away games, most are a bit of a blur
red&white56 Posted 2 November, 2011 Posted 2 November, 2011 Not trained by Mick Channon by any chance ?
hamster Posted 2 November, 2011 Posted 2 November, 2011 Love it, 2 parts you wold think would be easy as songs at st marys may have heard bits wrong though: I looked over to Woolston, And what did I see, coming forth to carry me home, The old woolston ferry coming towards me, Coming forth to carry me home. On the Woolsten ferry, It doesn't travel very fast, It was never built for comfort, It was built to last. COYS I sings this every time we get half way across Itchen Bridge, much to the delight of the passengers on the minibus, even printed them some lyrics out. It genuinely get me in the mood for the match and I fear we'd lose our winning streak if I ceased this ritual now, it also fits with Nigel's bus analogy, he told me this to my face. It's a great ditty even though I'd estimate less than half of our support come from that side and even less remember the floating bridges. Love hearing the old heads behind Block 4 giving it an airing every now and then.
hamster Posted 2 November, 2011 Posted 2 November, 2011 If yer ever darn in Sholin, an yer wants to go ter tarn...don't you evr go by bitten, that's the long way rand.

So there's no chance of any clapping meaning the board bangers can't speed it up to 100mph.
Nutwood2 Posted 3 November, 2011 Posted 3 November, 2011 Getting on the 'Ferry' would make a change from 'getting on the bus!'
MorningtonCrescent Posted 3 November, 2011 Posted 3 November, 2011 We tend to have a rendition in Block 42 most matches - even if it only 10-12 of us! Everyone around us likes it, but don't join in! Away matches are different though! Usually get a decent number joining in! At the Posh game I was reminded of the 'tractor' song and we did good rendition of that too! (not at the rear of block 42, I hasten to add!)
SaintRobbie Posted 3 November, 2011 Posted 3 November, 2011 Not trained by Mick Channon by any chance ? My first thoughts too!
