terrasaint Posted 31 October, 2011 Share Posted 31 October, 2011 I telephoned ticket office today to request the reduced price ticket. Was told purchase was dependent on attending the Chapel end for both the Middlesborough and Peterborough games and buying tickets prior to those games at the same time. I explained that I bought Chapel tickets for Middlesborough prior to this offer. The ticket clerk sought advice from a third party and came back and said ok i can have the reduced price ticket. Just posting this in case anyone is in the same boat. As this is a recent offer as far as i know, dont think there is a clear guideline.
for_heaven's_Saint Posted 31 October, 2011 Share Posted 31 October, 2011 It seemed pretty stupid that they just advertised '£15 tickets' at the Borough game without really making it clear that you had to have bought a Chapel ticket for that game. I'm sure it was in the small print on the big screens but at a glance you just saw a big '£15' and I'm sure the pitch announcer didn't mention having to buy a Borough ticket. And it would seem to penalise people who bought Middlesborough tickets well in advance.
markr27 Posted 31 October, 2011 Share Posted 31 October, 2011 My father sat in the Itchen on Saturday and wanted to sit there again with the nephew tomorrow. However he was offered the £15 deal which was taken up.
Bourno Posted 31 October, 2011 Share Posted 31 October, 2011 I see on twitter, students are being offered tickets for £10 or £15 gets a ticket and 2 beers.
cellone Posted 31 October, 2011 Share Posted 31 October, 2011 Sounds like a promotional ball's up that is now there for the people who want to sit in the Chapel End. All's well that ends well.

Saint_clark Posted 1 November, 2011 Share Posted 1 November, 2011 I see on twitter, students are being offered tickets for £10 or £15 gets a ticket and 2 beers. You what? Almost makes me regret buying a ST. (Before anyone asks, no i'm not a student - but I kept hold of my ID card to take advantage of bargains such as the one above). Daren W Posted 1 November, 2011 Share Posted 1 November, 2011 Where have you seen that advertised? And why are we offering them such a good deal? Think it's a brilliant idea. We have a massive student population, get a small percentage of that at St Marys and you're looking at seriously big numbers...
Norm Posted 1 November, 2011 Share Posted 1 November, 2011 We also have a massive Senior Citizen population, get a small percentage of that at St Marys and you're looking at seriously big numbers... I got my £15 ticket yesterday (plus an under 17 @ £10) and didn't get the offer of two free beers! Perhaps they knew that I like Single Malt? I'm all in favour of promotions to boost numbers but so long as I'm included!

I can't think of anything worse than having a couple of non-Saints supporting students sat next to me at a game that are only there because its a cheap night out. They know where St Marys is if they want to come along without these deals.

JRM Posted 1 November, 2011 Share Posted 1 November, 2011 i think i need to make friends with a couple of students and get them to pass me on the tickets!! when i was at Reading uni 10 years ago they used to give out free tickets via the Student union for quite a few games, i only took up the offer once as was going to saints games anyway, but know a few went along as it was free and something to do. There is the chance a few will get the bug and start going regularly, but more likely the tickets would be better used going to local schools with people who identify with the city. Most students will already have an affinity with a team, either from their home towns or a "big club"
petermcpete Posted 1 November, 2011 Share Posted 1 November, 2011 If you want to do the student offer just go to the union before 5pm and get tickets, they dont ask for id as long as you are of a student age...if not just ask someone there to get them on your behalf. Seats are in the Itchen South.

petermcpete Posted 1 November, 2011 Share Posted 1 November, 2011 £10 for a standard ticket, or £15 for a ticket and 2 drinks at the ground. Just got the £10 ticket so I dont know how the drinks thing works, I guess you get a voucher or something.
Norm Posted 1 November, 2011 Share Posted 1 November, 2011 You never see a pensioner on a bike! Wrong! Ride mine often. From Top of Hill Lane down to Town Quay (stop for coffee and cake) and then back home via Cowherds (stop for a 'Lemonade' ). Do that with my grandson 2-3 Sundays a month. Back to the students promotion, good luck to them, I'm just jealous.
