Intrigued that one has "© S M Cannings 2010" on it when I know for a fact that that photo was taken by Andy Mintram... :suspicious:

That did make me chuckle. The club would also have something to say about it seeing as they share the copyright...

A guy called I_Hoops posted these on Twitter yesterday and I hope he doesn't mind if I link to them here. They are all of the St Marys site from before it was cleared and St Marys built. I think the first is of the site from the bridge / by the new foot bridge, the 2nd would be looking across the Northam car park from the Britannia Road entrance and the last one is looking at what is now reception.

The pictures aren't that great but it's fascinating to see the site before the stadium was built. I wonder if anybody else has pics of the site pre-SMS?

Yes, Joe. I have two albums of the stadium site pre, during and at construction end. I have thought about putting them on fleabay, as I'm clearing out drawers/loft ect.

Fellas, this thread could not possibly be complete without a picture of the most distinguished gent to ever wear the Red and White.

I give you, Charles Burgess Fry:

Users of the Dell Bar will recognize it. It is on the wall opposite the big screen.

Pathetic as it sounds actually felt quite emotional looking at some of these photos. I'm in the bus photo somewhere on my Dads shoulders.

The one of Marion really got to me as well for some reason

Yes, you are right.

Why do it again once you've fulfilled your life times dream and handed it over to God's Own Team ???

An even earlier shot of a 1930s Dell looking towards the Milton, no 'Choccie Boxes' back then. Queen Mary in distance docked near Town Quay.

worth a look, me thinks.

Love those links to pics from the Upper Milton, that view up Milton road especially brings back memories as that was where I first started watching the Saints.

Excellent thread, keep 'em coming...

Great pictures of two of my heroes - Sydie and Elvis who would be worth about 15m each nowadays.

The memories of watching those two I have as a boy stood on the terraces are worth more than any money though

they are irreplaceable and coupled with Big Ron some fantastic matches.
