Saint Thomas Posted 29 October, 2011 Posted 29 October, 2011 11 from 15 in October, certainly a happy month, and against some tough teams - November on the other hand actually looks (on paper) a little easier; Peterborough - 12th (H) Coventry - 22nd (A) Brighton - 10th (H) Bristol City - 24th (A) Hull - 6th (H) Without wanting to curse us, I'd say they were all winnable games - I fancy us against anyone at home now, and the only away games being against sides in the relegation zone sounds good as well. I'm probably buoyed far too much by optimism from today, but could well fancy us to pick up 13 points and really put some distance between us and 3rd this month!
Lazlo78 Posted 29 October, 2011 Posted 29 October, 2011 Don't underestimate Hull. After losing 3 of the opening 4 matches, they have registered 6 wins and 3 draws from the last 9 games...
Saint_clark Posted 29 October, 2011 Posted 29 October, 2011 Peterborough (H) - Win Coventry (A) - Win Brighton (H) - Win Bristol City (A) - Draw Hull (H) - Win IMO.
corsacar saint Posted 29 October, 2011 Posted 29 October, 2011 With the players all having the mindset they do and NA not under estimating any of the opposition,I do not think the club as a whole will under estimate any of the teams in this league. All games are potential banana skins, but the way we are playing we need not fear anyone[ in this league.]
St Chalet Posted 29 October, 2011 Posted 29 October, 2011 Peterborough (H) - Win Coventry (A) - Loss Brighton (H) - Draw Bristol City (A) - Win Hull (H) - Win 10/15 I reckon
alpine_saint Posted 30 October, 2011 Posted 30 October, 2011 9 Peterborough - 12th (H) - draw Coventry - 22nd (A) - draw Brighton - 10th (H) - draw Bristol City - 24th (A) -win Hull - 6th (H) - win
ant Posted 30 October, 2011 Posted 30 October, 2011 Putting my 'trying not to get carried away' hat firmly on I'd say that 9 or 10 points would see us through a solid enough month. 12+ would be simply fantastic but let's take them one game at a time eh...
JonnyLove Posted 30 October, 2011 Posted 30 October, 2011 Isn't Hull In December so taking that out I'd say all 4 games are winnable so 12 Points
Jack Posted 30 October, 2011 Posted 30 October, 2011 Yes I'm ****ed and ratting every thread on the forum, but 15 points IMO. 13 goals scored, 4 conceded. Jack Cork to score a 40 yard goal of the season, IMO. And Chappers to get banned for getting his **** out as a controversial celebration
Lazlo78 Posted 30 October, 2011 Posted 30 October, 2011 Isn't Hull In December so taking that out I'd say all 4 games are winnable so 12 Points From the OS: Tue 1 19:45 H Peterborough FLC Sat 5 15:00 A Coventry City FLC Sat 19 15:00 H Brighton FLC Sat 26 15:00 A Bristol City FLC Tue 29 19:45 H Hull City FLC
Jonnyboy Posted 30 October, 2011 Posted 30 October, 2011 9 Peterborough - 12th (H) - draw Coventry - 22nd (A) - draw Brighton - 10th (H) - draw Bristol City - 24th (A) -win Hull - 6th (H) - win So from 16 home wins on the bounce we are going to draw our next two?
fanimal Posted 30 October, 2011 Posted 30 October, 2011 next 3 away games to the current bottom 3; got to improve the 21/9 points ratio with a couple of wins at Coventry and BC. Come on you mighty magnificent reds! So proud this morning, loving it!
colehillsaint Posted 30 October, 2011 Posted 30 October, 2011 15 possible 11 or 12 probable 10 would do
saints-cris Posted 30 October, 2011 Posted 30 October, 2011 Peterborough - Win Coventry - Win Brighton - Win Bristol City - Draw Hull - Draw To be honest, I actually think we could win them all. Only thing is Hull are so good away. Next 2 should be wins though.
alpine_saint Posted 30 October, 2011 Posted 30 October, 2011 So from 16 home wins on the bounce we are going to draw our next two? Yep, those are my predictions. Try to deal with it. I am not excluding the possibility that we win them all, I just dont think it likely. Even the cold logic part of your brain must be able to win thru all the romantic mush to realise that at some point this run is going to end. I say there is a good chance against Posh and Brighton.
hypochondriac Posted 30 October, 2011 Posted 30 October, 2011 Hmm. I'm going for: Peterborough - 12th (H)- Win Coventry - 22nd (A) - Win Brighton - 10th (H) - Draw Bristol City - 24th (A) - Win Hull - 6th (H) - Draw
S-Clarke Posted 30 October, 2011 Posted 30 October, 2011 Hmm. I'm going for: Peterborough - 12th (H)- Win Coventry - 22nd (A) - Win Brighton - 10th (H) - Draw Bristol City - 24th (A) - Win Hull - 6th (H) - Draw I think that's a fair tally, and would put us on 41 pts going into the xmas period...
SNSUN Posted 30 October, 2011 Posted 30 October, 2011 "How many points CAN we get?" Well we CAN get 15! "How many WILL we get?" Hmmm, 13 IMO, if we play as well as we know we can in every match.
saints triumph Posted 30 October, 2011 Posted 30 October, 2011 Peterborough - 12th (H) - win, Coventry - 22nd (A) - win, Brighton - 10th (H) - draw, Bristol City - 24th (A) -draw, Hull - 6th (H) - win So 11 points
Saint Thomas Posted 30 October, 2011 Author Posted 30 October, 2011 "How many points CAN we get?" Well we CAN get 15! "How many WILL we get?" Hmmm, 13 IMO, if we play as well as we know we can in every match. I knew someone would do that as soon as I re-read the title, and I'm not exactly stunned it was you I reckon Coventry will take a point off us, and Brighton and Hull worry me a little, but I just think we have enough to get past them.
LainPain Posted 30 October, 2011 Posted 30 October, 2011 Will the Hull match be the first time Pearson has come back to SMS?
Faz Posted 30 October, 2011 Posted 30 October, 2011 Will the Hull match be the first time Pearson has come back to SMS? Now you've started it

I think if we play as well as we can, the only game I think we have the potential to struggle in is, ironically, Bristol City away. But stranger things have happened, our form can't last forever. Can it?

Hull are certainly creeping up the table after a poorish first couple of matches.Presume their match in hand is against Birmingham so that helps a bit although who ever wins that game would (in theory) be only 3 points behind us as things stand.
Bad Wolf Posted 30 October, 2011 Posted 30 October, 2011 Can see it being Brighton who end our home run...
Legod Third Coming Posted 30 October, 2011 Posted 30 October, 2011 I don't understand the confidence behind the away wins. We have really struggled to put poor teams to the sword away from home and both Coventry and Bristol will race their games against us, for sure. The home games will be a penalty kick if we play as we have been. But the away games, I'm not so sure...
hutch Posted 31 October, 2011 Posted 31 October, 2011 I think that's a fair tally, and would put us on 41 pts going into the xmas period... 44 We get our Christmas bonus on the 17th this year
Red and White Army Posted 31 October, 2011 Posted 31 October, 2011 Don't underestimate Hull. After losing 3 of the opening 4 matches, they have registered 6 wins and 3 draws from the last 9 games... And how many home games have we won on the bounce?
Dark Munster Posted 31 October, 2011 Posted 31 October, 2011 (edited) Where's Dalek to tell us that Saints will only pick up a few points, but be happy to still be in the top 6 at the end of the month? Edited 5 November, 2011 by Dark Munster
Ian the Red Posted 1 November, 2011 Posted 1 November, 2011 Peterborough - 1st (H) WIN Coventry - 5th (A) WIN Brighton - 19th (H) WIN Bristol City - 26th (A) WIN Hull - 29th (H) DRAW 13 points and still top of the league!!
Sheaf Saint Posted 5 November, 2011 Posted 5 November, 2011 9 Peterborough - 12th (H) - draw Coventry - 22nd (A) - draw Brighton - 10th (H) - draw Bristol City - 24th (A) -win Hull - 6th (H) - win Care to revise your prediction Alps?
alpine_saint Posted 5 November, 2011 Posted 5 November, 2011 Care to revise your prediction Alps? Well, my predictions were obviously wrong. But that's what they were, PREDICTIONS. And half the people on here will have got one of them wrong so far, let alone two. What have you got out of experience of trying to single me out ?
Super_Saint Posted 5 November, 2011 Posted 5 November, 2011 Peterborough (H) - Win Coventry (A) - Win Brighton (H) - Win Bristol City (A) - Draw Hull (H) - Win IMO. Didn't you get last months predictions right? I hope you get this months lot right too, I'd take that.

And half the people on here will have got one of them wrong so far, let alone two. What have you got out of experience of trying to single me out ? Nothing really. I was looking for this thread because I wanted to comment on how we have managed 6 out of 6 so far, and I thought I would read through the previous responses before I did. I came across yours and decided there and then to highlight it. Not sure why, but for one crazy moment I thought you might actually have a laugh about it and admit to being happy you were wrong. No need to be so defensive about it.

St Chalet Posted 5 November, 2011 Posted 5 November, 2011 Delighted to say I was wrong about Coventry!
Lazlo78 Posted 7 November, 2011 Posted 7 November, 2011 And how many home games have we won on the bounce? 19 I think - which is nothing short of magnificent! I was merely responding to the suggestion that we were meeting "easier" teams this month than we did in October, and I would agree with this when looking at Posh, Cov, Brighton and BC - I just wanted to point out that Hull (to me) are stronger than the other four teams
martel Posted 7 November, 2011 Posted 7 November, 2011 4 wins and a draw - 13 Our average so far, if i got the maths right, is 2.25 points per game; therefore I will go for 12.
Lazlo78 Posted 7 November, 2011 Posted 7 November, 2011 Our average so far, if i got the maths right, is 2.25 points per game; therefore I will go for 12. Your math is spot on. In our 20 games this season (16 FLC, 4 LGCP) we are 14-3-3, with an average of 2,25 points/game, 2,30 goals for/game, and 1,10 goals against/game.
westofshannonsaint Posted 8 November, 2011 Posted 8 November, 2011 Will the Hull match be the first time Pearson has come back to SMS? Will he still Hull manager by then? http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/15621888.stm
