Chaplow for me without question.

Guly and Lambo come close, who were both excellent up front.

But probably for the same reasons as everyone else, Chaplow gets it because he's at the top of his game right now. Probably playing as well as he ever has.

well Chappers but Cork got thru an awful lot of work as well, timely interceptions, but wish I could pin down where Chappers is supposed to be on the pitch, at times he's the kid in the playground playing wherever the ball is.

To ignore Lallana today is madness. Yes Chaplow worked hard, but the crosses Lallana put into the box were sublime. The quality of his crossing really shows the rest of the squad up. His assist for the 2nd goal was truly world class.

Chaplow without a doubt, but I am amazed that Hooiveld has not been mentioned in despatches I thought that he looked the stronger of the centre back pairing today, without a doubt the strongest performance I have seen from him at SMS so far.

That Lambert bloke looks a bit useful too: he was everywhere.

Lambert narrowly for me - Chaplow was excellent; but Lambert was indispensable with his physical presence, allowing the likes of Chaplow to play/pick up the ball in dangerous areas. Shackle Lambert like Reading did and the whole team suffers.

Chaplow for me, as has been the last 3 or 4 games to be honest. A player bang on form, works so hard for the team and was everywhere today. As one West Ham fan put it the other week after we beat them, "That Chaplow looked 10 x the player our 50k a week captain (Nolan) did".

Guly obviously gets a mention for the goals, Lambert very good again and showing he is so much more than just a goal scorer. And Jos too, after his first game against Forest never in my wildest dreams did I think he'd be this good, but he really is the real deal. So strong at the back and in the air, and very comfortable with the ball at his feet.

My ratings today for the entire team would be:

Davis: 7

Butterfield: 8

Jos: 7.5

Fonte: 7.5

Fox: 7.5

Chaplow: 9

Cork: 7

Hammond: 7

Lallana: 8

Lambert: 7.5

Guly: 8.5

Chaplow upset with Claridge:

Rchap04 Richard chaplow

#harsh saying I was poor last season, 35 apps 5 goals from midfield isn't bad by any ones standard!?!

I don't know what exactly Claridge did say...

Chaplow was my MOTM, by some margin...a 9.8/10 performance

But so many other players had great games.

Hoovield, for example, was exceptional but probably not even in the top 4 Saints players.

Spot on. Hooiveld is outshining Fonte big time. Strong and very assured. Lambert is as strong and fit as he has ever been and is effective even when he doesn't bother the keeper. Chappers, well it's been said already - immense.

Chappers was absolutely immense. Gets the vote by a distance, but was a great team performance. Lambo, Guly, Lallana, Jose and Jos were all top class today. We'd beat half of the teams in the top flight with a performance like that.

Think Chappers has got the wrong end of SC's comments. All he really said is that RC has really upped his game this season, and to us it's as good as signing a new midfielder. I think Claridge got it spot on, for once.

Still a skate ****

Claridge said he massively surprised last season was a shadow of what I expected but is now like a new signing

Poor claridge got his words mixed up he meant to say last season was a shadow of the current chappers

Chaplow, with mentions to Fonte, Guly and Lambert.

This,

the whole team played very well as a unit and showed what a good team we can be against what was supposed to be tricky opposition.

Well done all

He hasn't been singled out for much praise on this thread which has amazed me but Butterfield had a fantastic game and is my motm due to him having a bigger challenge than most players on the pitch in emnes as he kept dropping out wide and dealt with him fantastically. Any young right backs coming through he club, watch his performance closely, especially the first 45 minutes, his positioning and timing was spot on every time and you could just tell Emnes hated playing against him after a while.

Obvious special mentions to Jos, Guly, Lambert and the man of the last few games, Chaplow. Stunning team.

When you watch the match highlights Hammond also made some great passes. The chip out to butterfield for Guly's first and the chip through to lambert for his volley at the end. Great performances all over the pitch.

Chaplow was unquestionably outstanding and far and away the mom despite Guly's fist half goals. But I'm surprised Kelv hasn't been awarded any votes because he made some terrific head to boot saves again.

Agree with that, he could have popped the ball in a bucket from 50 yards the way he was playing - Guly didn't have to move for that first goal.

Chappers was good, no doubt. But Corky was immense. He is not the Bambi-on-ice that I remember from first time around. Can't believe only 2 of us think him MoM.

Chaplow was the player who caught the eye with the energy and physicality of his performance but many players had excellent games - Cork included - that is why we are top of the league ;)

suspected Chaplow would win it (unbelievable workrate) but surprised how far ahead of everyone else he is. I voted Lambert who was just immense but I'm sure there's a few on here who think he was crap because he didn't score.

Posted
I have not voted because I thought they were all brilliant, including Nigel and his backroom staff. Nevertheless; well done Chappers!

I've said it several times before in these threads. The poll poster should give the multiple choice option to give a better indication of our opinions.

Um, Chaplow didn't score either, and Guly got TWO!!

Chaplow was brilliant yesterday, but he tired visibly towards the end of the game. I think he deserves a rest on Tuesday, he's run his socks off the last 3 or 4 weeks.

My vote goes to Guly because he looked incredibly chuffed when he scored, and it's good to build his confidence up. If he repeats the feat on Tuesday then I think he'll be second choice striker behind Rickie.

Well the people of the UK voted against an AV system earlier this year, so I guess it's only right we stick with the same FPTP system on here really.
