Mike from SISA on Talksport.

On the topic of fans having it better now then ever 'Mike' who is apparently involved with SISA rang in to complain that things are not so rosy here.

The main bones of contention:

1) No fans forums in the last 2 years

2) Complaining about season ticket rising 40% over the summer (and then he contradicted himself by saying 10%) and

3) the now resolved photograph situation.

Jason Cundy was however astonished that a Saints fan would be complaining..... Does Mike use the forum by any chance?

Fans certainly do not have it better now than ever, we are f*cking ripped off at every opportunity, paying extortionate prices for tickets, having games moved for inconvenient tv times, watching games in shlt souless new stadiums getting harrassed by jobsworths stewards while paying £30+ for the priviledge

O'Callaghan, I would expect. Hasnt been in the Echo for at least a month and is starved of publicity.

 Very true......and it sounds like he is yet to get an invite to one of NC's dinners with the supporters who in a relaxed and smaller environment manage to ask questions that in a big open Forum they wouldnt get chance to because people like him, Illingsworth and McMillan taking over ! ;)

What a plank.

He was given extremely short shrift by the presenter, and came across as being very bitter and really quite thick.I don't think Mike has got too much going on up top, bless him.
My thoughts entirely! Didn't want to be too forthright initially just incase he's a fellow SWF'er.He was all over the place... just seemed to want a rant about our PR policy rather then a constructive critique of whether fans have it good or bad.

I guess SISA do still exist if they say they do. They can't claim to speak for anyone other than the 2 or 3 people who claim to run the 'organisation' though as they never speak to their members. As far as I'm aware anyone joining them years ago was granted lifetime membership so in theory they could claim to have thousands of members!

Not sure if O'Callaghan still attends games. I haven't seen him at any for a while although that's not to say he isn't still coming along.

I did find it humourously ironic that Dim-Mick rang in to complain about Cortese cancelling the fans forums and therefore not being open with teh fans, all the while hiding behind his SISA identity which is quite possibly the most introverted and closed-shop of a supporters association going.

I think he sits/stands at the back of block 4. I went to a meeting of interested parties during the administration, I couldn't believe the ranting nonsense from the four SISA idiots. All noise, no sense.

Careful, Dave. You might get invited to a 'conversation'.

Noisy monologues and interruptions are their modus operandi. They didn't like being told to shut up and not interrupt, they'd had their say. (including 50 mins speech from Chorley). Busted and history sums them up.

This problem was summed up a fair few posts ago - Some Southampton fans are never happy. They actually want to complain about something, and have this dinosaur age idea that they need to be involved in the running of the club and complain about anything until they're recognised.

Long story short, desperate for attention and to have a position of power and it's not going to happen. They should shut up, but they won't. Who. ****ing. Cares.

I heard the whole phone call. He had no point to make whatsoever, it was a pathetic attempt at a bit of Cortese bashing.

Seemed to think he was iin charge of a supporters orgainsation, wouldn't be surprised if he was the only member.

It is SISA we're talking about, so that's likely to be not too far from the truth.

They want to be the voice of the fans, along with Illinsgworth. These guys are so out of touch with the fan base it's untrue and pretty embarrassing when they flaunt themselves on national radio.

I guess Cortese decided against the fans forum after the one he had when he first came. Invited the audience to ask anything about the new owners, the plans, the direction of the club, the ambition etc etc.

And some ***t pipes up complaining about the beer. We had just come out of adminsitration, many of us weren't sure we'd have a club left to follow and second bloke on the microphone comes out with that. From memory Cortese said something like "It won't be top of my agenda"

Guess who the prat was that asked that question above any others, when he had an audience with the man who facilitated saving us.....

Gone on three guesses.....I'm sure you will only need one

Unbelievable that Mike and the rest of the Peoples Front of Judea are still finding things to moan about.

I heard his call and he didn't come across at all well.

I couldn't give a toss about Cortese having a fans forum. He has one every other Saturday afternoon, St Marys at 3pm.

Fans f*cking forum, so the Judean Peoples Front can moan about the meat pies, f*ck off.

Did anyone also hear the ex SAS fella on H and J who was a Saints fan?

Yeah, seemed sound enough.

The way that Cundy said respectfully at the start, "We have the chairman of the Saints Independant Supporters Association on the phone....." to the contrasting unbelieving destain he showed towards him by the end told the whole story.

I disagree, I still think there should be a fans forum. The dinners are a nice idea but it shouldn't just be a select few who get to ask questions. Sure, you get some idiots asking dumb questions but people should be able to ask what they like.

I did enjoy the end bit.

Cundy: "I can't believe a Saints fan is on here moaning about things right now!"

Thick-Mick: Yeah but, roight, it's all very well when things are going alroight. But what about me having to pay for car parking now, eh? What about that?

Cundy: *click*. Ok, up next we have Dave from Coventry.....

Tried to "Google" SISA and Saints Independent Supporters Association and guess what I found. Nothing.

The Echo have a lot to answer for in repeatedly using them for interviews etc whilst desperately avoiding highlighting just how few fans they represent. Lazy journalism to use a "supporters association" to try and add gravitas to an article. Considering how long SISA have been around, and the sheer amount of times the Echo use them for quotes, there has NEVER been an article written about them, what they do, who they are and who they represent.

Problem is because Talk Sport inhabits its parochial premiership/London bubble, any tom, **** and harry can get away with brandishing dodgy, defunct credentials.

It was a phone in show. He just happened to have got through.

And am sure lots of people were phoning in to complain about the inaccuracy of FIFA 12's graphic representation of van der vaart or something. Point is he probably gets greater access -whether with journo or operators for phone-in shows- than he deserves by peddling his dodgy voice-of-the-fans credentials.
