Still prefer going to the KA before a game - at least you can have a cigarette with your pint there. Pretty f*cking good deal though, 5 pints for £10 at a football stadium...

It works out perfectly though, i usaully get to KA at 12:30 ish, got 1 1/2 hours to drink, then just as KA starts to get too busy, straight over to SMS.

We usually start off at The Giddy Bridge in Bedford Place around 12:00, then walk down to the KA from there at about 1:00, leave for SMS at 2:30 and get another quick one in in the concourse before kick-off. Perfect!

who or why would you go to the ground before 14.15 ? didn't even realise they sold beer there that early.

would rather spend a bit extra and get a decent pint in a pub (instead of Carling ****e)...£2.90 Krone at the giddy.

To be fair to the club, I usually meet a few in the Alfred at 2, wait 10 minutes to get served and pay £3.50 for a pint of p**s in a plastic cup! The concourse will be empty and still drink poor beer, but a round will cost a tenner instead of £17.50!

I would still rather pay a bit extra for a drink or 2 in a decent match day pub with a good atmosphere then stand around on the concourse of the ground on my best behaviour drinking weak **** water out of a plastic bottle.

  • 1 month later...

They can run it for the Brizzle game, 3 of the 4 Chapel old farts are set to repeat the Huddersfield game last Christmas where we shed the responsibilities of (very) Adult life, and catch the train from Basingstoke to Southampton and drink our way to the stadium and back again afterwards. ................ The Chapel Arms will get the swerve this year: I swear that beer is 75% laxative (for number 1's!).
