Saint-Armstrong Posted 26 October, 2011 Posted 26 October, 2011 "The hosting of Leicester City has been put back to Monday 23rd January 2012 for live television coverage. The match was originally scheduled to take place at St. Mary's on Saturday 21st January, but will now be screened live on Sky Sports at 7.45pm on Monday 23rd. Saints will be looking to get one over on the Foxes who recorded a 3-2 win when the two teams met in August at the King Power Stadium. This will be the fifth televised Saints match of the season and follows on from December's screenings of Blackpool at home and Portsmouth away." http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10280~2494826,00.html?utm_source=Twitter Difference in coverage is very noticeable this year.
COMEONYOUREDS Posted 26 October, 2011 Posted 26 October, 2011 FFS. moved from my birthday to a evening game that will cost me £35 quid to get to. FFS
Saint Garrett Posted 26 October, 2011 Posted 26 October, 2011 Bit of a ***** for me I think. Have a feeling I go back to uni that weekend and would have been able to fit in this game and go back on the Sunday, but instead I'll have to watch on TV. Atleast I get to watch it on TV, better than nothing.
Raging Bull Posted 26 October, 2011 Posted 26 October, 2011 Don't like the fact they've done this but it's exactly what happened to QPR last season, they seemed to play about 4/5 Monday night matches.
sambosa75 Posted 26 October, 2011 Posted 26 October, 2011 FFS. moved from my birthday to a evening game that will cost me £35 quid to get to. FFS Chillax. It's not like you are going to miss the game. Just watch it on TV.
Colinjb Posted 26 October, 2011 Posted 26 October, 2011 NOT happy. I can't make midweek games. Furious.
Jack Posted 26 October, 2011 Posted 26 October, 2011 What a ****ing bunch of ****s. Moving games to a Friday night or Sunday is bad enough, but a Monday has got to be the worst night of the week for a game. Part of going to football for me is a day off work, a good pub session, football, back in the pub, and a day off the next day.
View From The Top Posted 26 October, 2011 Posted 26 October, 2011 NOT happy. I can't make midweek games. Furious. Same here. Empty season ticket seats yet again.
Benj Posted 26 October, 2011 Posted 26 October, 2011 ****ed off big time, have to work Monday nights so won't be able to go or watch in on tv, will have to settle for the bloody radio again.
Chez Posted 26 October, 2011 Posted 26 October, 2011 Much smaller away crowd on a Monday night. Shame as I like the games with a big following. Adds to the atmosphere. Upshot is they have less backing I suppose.
jawillwill Posted 26 October, 2011 Posted 26 October, 2011 NOT happy. I can't make midweek games. Furious. It's still pretty near the beginning of the week though.
Colinjb Posted 26 October, 2011 Posted 26 October, 2011 It's still pretty near the beginning of the week though. Might as well be during Wednesday office hours.... Short of taking holiday I still won't be able to make it.
COMEONYOUREDS Posted 26 October, 2011 Posted 26 October, 2011 Chillax. It's not like you are going to miss the game. Just watch it on TV. I have a season ticket, rather I used it than go to waste

This Charming Man Posted 26 October, 2011 Posted 26 October, 2011 Got a few mates who are Leicester and were supposed to be coming down for the weekend and doing the night out. That's that plan ruined. NO AL CALCIO MODERNO
Minsk Posted 26 October, 2011 Posted 26 October, 2011 I will be over for this one. Being on TV I could have watched it here, but as I will there I shall be at SMS. I might not take the missus and nipper with me now though.
keithd Posted 26 October, 2011 Posted 26 October, 2011 You'll be hoping we don't get promoted to the Prem then? what this man said. My Spuds supporting mate has told me they have 1 Saturday 3pm kick off this season, 1. The longer the season goes on if we remain successful we become more attractive to the Sky and BBC bosses. Get used to it!
View From The Top Posted 26 October, 2011 Posted 26 October, 2011 You'll be hoping we don't get promoted to the Prem then? I'll have to give up my season tickets if we go I reckon, due to the amount on non-Saturday games which I can't attend.
Raging Bull Posted 26 October, 2011 Posted 26 October, 2011 I'll have to give up my season tickets if we go I reckon, due to the amount on non-Saturday games which I can't attend. Well that's the only down side really, the up side is we'll be on telly a lot more. Would much rather football was played at 3 on a Saturday but if you take the money you play by their rules.
saintwiz Posted 26 October, 2011 Posted 26 October, 2011 23rd Jan is my 40th birthday - lovely. Alldayer then football. It could of been so boring....

Benj Posted 26 October, 2011 Posted 26 October, 2011 Just realised this is actually my girlfriends birthday, so got the day off work. Not sure if I'll get away with going though.

Jack Posted 26 October, 2011 Posted 26 October, 2011 You'll be hoping we don't get promoted to the Prem then? I don't mind Sundays so much, but Monday nights are no good for football IMO. It's a difficult one, obviously I want us to be successful, but the Championship is a MUCH better division for the supporters. Much more affordable, usually 3pm on Saturdays, and a very unpredictable league. I do want us to get promoted, but there are things I hate about the prem that we'd have to deal with
holepuncture Posted 26 October, 2011 Posted 26 October, 2011 what this man said. My Spuds supporting mate has told me they have 1 Saturday 3pm kick off this season, 1. The longer the season goes on if we remain successful we become more attractive to the Sky and BBC bosses. Get used to it! Really? That is terrible, really terrible. Must be a nightmare for planning games and planning things outside of games... all this so asians can watch english football at a time that is suitable to them... SKY OUT!
Dan Posted 26 October, 2011 Posted 26 October, 2011 Happy with this, as I wasnt planning on coming down for it and can watch it now.

Must be a nightmare for planning games and planning things outside of games... all this so asians can watch english football at a time that is suitable to them... SKY OUT! In the words of Alan Partridge, "you daft racist!" It's actually one home game at 3pm this side of Xmas for Spurs. In any case, none of the tv moves have ANYTHING to do with foreign tv market. Spurs play in the Europa league on a Thursday so all games after a European week will be moved to Sunday. All other moves are to do with the UK tv audience.

That is what I was refering to, rather than getting down and racialist... those mid-day saturday and sunday games are prime time (7-8pm) in China... that is what I am refereing too. In the words of Alan Partridge, "you daft ****!"
Winchester Red Posted 26 October, 2011 Posted 26 October, 2011 but what he's saying is a major reason Spuds have net to no Saturday 3pm kick-offs is that every time they play a Europa League game on a Thursday they move their Saturday game to Sunday. It's the clubs choice, nothing to do with Sky.
Winchester Red Posted 26 October, 2011 Posted 26 October, 2011 What that was meant to say before my fingers went haywire was.......... but what he's saying is a major reason Spuds have next to no Saturday 3pm kick-offs is that every time they play a Europa League game on a Thursday they move their Saturday game to Sunday. It's the clubs choice, nothing to do with Sky.
aintforever Posted 26 October, 2011 Posted 26 October, 2011 F*ck off Sky, Monday is a rubbish night to watch football.
Saints67 Posted 26 October, 2011 Posted 26 October, 2011 This was to be my belated birthday weekend present. Looks like it'll have to be Burnley at home in Feb now.

Of course, you could argue that UEFA's insistence that Europa League games are on Thursday, so not to clash with CL and thus maximise revenues is the issue.
sandwichsaint Posted 26 October, 2011 Posted 26 October, 2011 I'm available for cheap season tkts - can use 2 or 3 if anyone has any spares.
ericofarabia Posted 26 October, 2011 Posted 26 October, 2011 23rd Jan is my 40th birthday - lovely. Alldayer then football. It could of been so boring.... Tuesday morning could be a bit of a non starter though!!
View From The Top Posted 26 October, 2011 Posted 26 October, 2011 I'm available for cheap season tkts - can use 2 or 3 if anyone has any spares. As per all non weekend home games, my adult + nippers will be available. All I ask is £20 for H4H.
Thorpe-le-Saint Posted 26 October, 2011 Posted 26 October, 2011 ****ing hell, yet another bloody home game I can't make. Not sure what the point was in me getting this season ticket
whelk Posted 27 October, 2011 Posted 27 October, 2011 Part of going to football for me is a day off work, a good pub session, football, back in the pub, and a day off the next day. Agree but only going to get worse next season boys but the price we pay for being such a glamour club
SNSUN Posted 27 October, 2011 Posted 27 October, 2011 FFS I too would have been at this game had it fallen on the Saturday but cannot make the Monday due to work commitments. FFS.
SNSUN Posted 27 October, 2011 Posted 27 October, 2011 Just realised this is actually my girlfriends birthday, so got the day off work. Not sure if I'll get away with going though. I'm sure the girlfriend'll be cool about it - it's the wife you'll really have trouble with!
ericofarabia Posted 27 October, 2011 Posted 27 October, 2011 Not holding my breath expecting the useless bunch of *****s at Al Jism TV to broadcast it live, especially as I'm not working and would able to watch it for a change. Also finding a bar that won't be closed or swithced the TVs off by 0130 could be a problem ... thanks to the 4 hour time difference.
saintinlondon Posted 27 October, 2011 Posted 27 October, 2011 two more ST seats gone to waste AGAIN!!!
This Charming Man Posted 27 October, 2011 Posted 27 October, 2011 On the plus side, I've realised I can now do Rangers v Aberdeen that weekend, so I'm happy again.
doddisalegend Posted 27 October, 2011 Posted 27 October, 2011 Oh FFS really a monday? Bloody TV moving games is a pain in the arse. Football should be played at 3.00 on a saturday with the odd evening game at 7.45 on a tuesday all other times are a ****ing pain.

We went from Nov to March without a home Saturday 3pm game and even then, there were only 2 until the end of the season. I thought it would stop when we got promoted but now were on 4 times in a row. Its great for fans living away/abroad but a real ***** for STH.
doddisalegend Posted 27 October, 2011 Posted 27 October, 2011 Non-League football really is the game for you. League one was fine TBF (snow aside)
