CPFC V SFC Stream Please

I'd be grateful if someone could confirm or otherwise:

In order for there to be an internet stream of a game, it's going to have to be covered by either Sky, ESPN, BBC or ITV. Our streaming friends then either nick it straight from one of those or from a foreign broadcaster who has paid one of the above. If it's not legit on one of these, then there is no way Justin or one of his mates is going to send their own crew. So surely, you can tell if there's going to be a stream by looking in your standard off-the-shelf TV guide of choice?

If this is the case, why do so many people ask for streams of games that clearly aren't going to have any? This is a genuine question; I'm worried in case I'm missing a trick here.

Cheers.

Mostly true but not always.

Derby the other week being one, and the away FA Cup game at Bristol Rovers a few seasons ago on a Friday night being another.

It was obvious there wouldn't be a stream for tonight, if it was a quarter or semi final it would be likely there would be. Solent is on the tunein app, but in my experience the matches arent. It uses the bbc online stream, there was no match commentary, just a generic bbc pre recorded message. I think its something to do with international rights of the radio coverage.

I have the very same understanding as you - I check a Danish footy site (http://www.bold.dk//tv/) for any tv/web coverage (web as in legit streams from bet365 etc.) and if a Saints game is featured I know it will be available loads of other places online...

The club own the rights for internet broadcast for league matches. So the club use the BBC feed to play through the saints player. (yep saints player buyers are paying for the bbc comentary that the licence fee already pays for) But for Cup matches I dont think the same rules apply. The Solent feed on BBC iPlayer usually plays that recorded message is playing bbc radio kent tonight.

I browsed a bit around and found this Danish link: http://www.csports.dk/cmore/?treeId=160290

This is the Danish website for Canal+, and they offer a pay-per-view match for 49 Danish kroner (£6ish). Might give it a spin this Saturday to see if it is any good.

Does totally contradict my earlier posting, as they are offering the game while it is not listed in any tv programme! Mind you, camera crews must be present at all matches to provide highlights for BBC...
